  1. i reckon he's worth the pick. with a 3rd or 4th rounder the pickings will be rather slim, so i think we might as well pick up some more experience that is ready to play
  2. Tippett is arguably the best player on offer this year and is exactly who we need standing at CHF. Combined with Clark, we would just about have the best forward duo in the league. Why are we going after a bloke (Dawes) that can't do anything other than run around like a headless chook, when a more complete player is ready to be made an offer. It's well documented that we have a lot of spare salary so why not spend it on a player that has proven himself to be what we need rather than average players that 'might' become something. Its time to stop 'experimenting' and DO SOMETHING! Yes he is most likely to head home, but for us not to at least make an offer is a big mistake.
  3. Free Agent - Shannon Byrnes Free Agent - Jordan Russell - Stefan Martin and 3rd Round Pick for Sharrod Wellingham and 3rd Round Pick - Jordan Gysberts to Geelong, Geelong's 2nd Round Pick to WCE, Koby Stevens to Melbourne - Jake Spencer and Free Agency Compensation (Mid 2nd Round) for Jonathan Giles and 4th Round Pick (Stick it up GW$ and Sheedy) Pick 3 - Jesse Hogan Pick 4 - Jonathan O'Rourke Pick 13 - Ben Kennedy Pick 25 - Jack Viney Gain - Hogan, O'Rourke, Kennedy, Viney, Byrnes, Wellingham, Giles, Stevens, Russell, Draft picks and Rookies Lose - Spencer, Martin, Gysberts, Petterd, Bennell, Bate, Green, Lawrence, Morton, Cook, Moloney, Rivers, Jurrah *Now I obviously don't think this will happen entirely but I hope we can get at least a couple of these to go our way
  4. i guess fix was the wrong word but a definite improvement could be made
  5. in comparison to the other skills of the game, goalkicking is one of the easiest to fix. by training with the other forwards, as well as coaching from leigh brown, hogan could easily develop a new routine that would lead to more reliable kicking. if that's the only problem in his game then i don't think we have much to worry about if we pick him up
  6. I think we should go after hogan with pick 3 or 4 and Jackson Coleman with our 4th rounder. Coleman is only about 20 and has a nice build which means he would be a chance of playing a lot next year and then provide a good 3rd tall option the year after when Hogan comes in and is finding his feet
  7. reports are he is happy to stay in WA
  8. fair enough, i had him more as temporary CHF until Hogan is ready to go, then he may be able to slip into a pocket to provide a 3rd tall option
  9. 1. Green 2. Lawrence 3. Jurrah 4. Bartram (inj.) 5. Bate 6. Bennell 7. Petterd 8. Morton 9. Moloney 10. MacDonald 11. Martin (only if we go for Wellingham) 12. Davey 13. Evans A large number of them may not/won't be there next year
  10. Pick 3 - Jimmy Toumpas Pick 4 - Jesse Hogan Pick 13 - Ben Kennedy 2nd Round - Jack Viney 3rd Round - Jacob Ballard 4th Round - Jake Neade 5th Round - Daniel Nicholson upgrade Rookie - Sam Dwyer Rookie - Luke Tynan Trade In - Koby Stevens Trade In - Scott Gumbleton Trade In - Sharrod Wellingham
  11. Cloke Dixon Stevens Byrnes Knights Ben Kennedy would be a better pick at #13 than trading for Caddy, only 11 touches last night in a winning side
  12. couldn't agree more, neither have really shown anything at afl level but yet everyone seems to love them. Our picks that we will receive this year should be used on players that will actually move us forward, rather than a 'potentially' good half back flanker and a 'potentially' great inside mid. A player like Ben Kennedy would be much more beneficial to the team and our structures.
  13. Would rather take another skilful midfielder (e.g. Mayes) at pick 4. It's been clear that our development of big forwards hasn't been quite right so why waste such a good pick on another one? We need mids!
  14. I said similar not the same. Viney and Moloney both play a tough inside game, however, Viney appears to have "more strings in his bow," being able to spread from contests and have more impact around the ground. This is why i believe Moloney may be on the way out.
  15. Martin isn't a natural forward so when Jamar returns he will have to play a good amount there and may struggle to hold his spot. Clark and Sellar will be able to provide back up and Neeld may want to develop Gawn a bit more with some senior football. He would be terrific trade bait in this situation, especially since Spencer has shown a bit too. Dixon would be able to become a genuine forward which would allow us to have two big blokes playing deep while the other pushes up around the half forward area, just like wce have done with kennedy, darling, cox/naitanui, lynch. Don't get me wrong I am a big fan of Martin, but it's time for the club to focus on success and what is best in the long term.
  16. Worth putting Stef on the table for Dixon? This would give GC a ready made 1st ruck and with Smith suffering from a case of the 2nd year blues, this trade could take a lot of pressure off their other developing rucks. Martin is a good back up ruck option for us but Dixon could play the same role with the ability to be more dangerous up forward. With Clark and Sellar being able to pinch hit in the ruck, another versatile player in Dixon would not be wasted. Gawn and Spencer will also provide extra depth in the future.
  17. nothing wrong with having them as a back up, galea is ready to go and smith could develop into a very handy player
  18. Fair enough, i had Bartram purely because of his injury and the low chance of it being a success, would love him to go round again. Jurrah is more likely to leave than us getting rid of him. His leave to adelaide is another sign that things aren't going well and the court case isn't looking good either. Moloney can be good but i think his best is behind him and with similar players such Viney coming through it may be time for him to move on while we can still receive adequate compensation. Was one of my favourites, will be sad to see him go. Being dropped against GWS was the final straw. Davey is that far over the hill it's not funny, his motivation, pace and enthusiasm has completely left him and it is time he left.
  19. Obviously Gawn and Cook aren't up to afl standard, however with enough depth in the team, we can afford to allow them more time in the 2's to get bigger and stronger. Evans is a tough one, with his contract ending at the end of the year the decision has to be made whether or not he will be able to break into the starting 22 for enough games next year and whether or not the new picks are going to be better than him.
