Come on crows. Then again blues might have a let down next week. We would
-
Getting worse if anything so far this quarter
-
At the game. Lovely conditions. Very light breeze. Looking hard for something positive to say but alas .... Always the one handball too many and just no clean delivery. Perhaps the second half will be better
-
You never know ... with the injuries ... he could be "straight to the pool room!!"
-
Onwards and upwards Would be nice for Carlton to lose to Adelaide and perhaps a few reports. Don't want to face another team who has just found its mojo West Coast V Bulldogs is the last chance saloon perhaps for those two clubs for this season. GWS v Geelong should be a real cracker. Great to see that it is on free to air and not the Port v Tiges which is a big test for the Toigs

Not much sympathy for a team who sells two home games to some of the hardest destinations in Australia Last night was abysmal from a future sponsorship viewpoint As mentioned win wise we did okay out of the stretch but the incremental impact of injuries could cruel the remainder of our season

The worst thing we can do this week is to have five or six outs and replace them with Casey players. Garlett in for Bugg Hogan in for Harmes JKH in for Viney And from the under-performing players one more out for anyone who plays well at Casey BTW Wagner may have butchered the ball but he got the ball as did White. In the case of White his reputation at Casey is for good disposal so perhaps he deserves another go. If we pick Trenners his disposal will be better but will he have time and space to make that disposal

An extract from a posting on the MFC site Reading between the lines it is not looking good. Even Hoges is not a lock for next week. COACH Simon Goodwin says it’s too early to tell how serious co-captain Jack Viney’s foot injury is, which he injured against the Sydney Swans at the MCG on Friday night. The courageous Viney was unable to play out the game and it remains to be seen how much football he will miss. “He’s got some plantar fasciitis. Whether it’s a tear or a partial tear – we’ll just get that assessed,” Goodwin said after his side’s 35-point loss. “It’s not looking great for him. We’ll get a clearer picture when our medical team have a really good look at him and he has scans. “We’ll just have to wait and see. It’s disappointing again to lose another player, but once again that creates opportunity for others.” But Goodwin said key forward Jesse Hogan trained “really strongly” on Friday and was not out of the picture for Melbourne’s next match against Carlton at the MCG on Sunday, July 9. “He’s getting closer and closer and he’ll have to do a really strong week of training this week and we’ll assess him as we go,” he said. “If it’s not next week, it’ll definitely be the week after [against the Adelaide Crows in Darwin], but we’re hopeful he’ll get through the rest of next week.” Goodwin said goalsneak Jeff Garlett was “close” for next round and tall Jack Watts was a “chance”.

Well ... it's a bit chilly but the sun is out. Nice day to head to the Port Oval perhaps via the trendy South Melbourne market. Never before have the Casey AFL players had more reason to play well and display their wares. Places are going begging in the senior team for next week and if you play well against Carlton then you will get at least two to three more games. I would not have thought it two or three weeks ago but with a good game the Weed is a chance for next week along with the usual suspects. Hell... even Trenners is in the mix See you there guys and gals PS I see that Maynard and J Smith are both rookies according to our list. Do we have enough long term injuries (horrible thing to say) to activate those two if they star?

Looking ahead ... the Path to September

Not to underestimate the Blues but we are lucky we have Carlton and then Adelaide and Port The games against Adelaide and Port were always going to be hard to win but fingers crossed we then have the bulk of our players back for the run home. Lose to Carlton and we will have to beat one of Adelaide or Port before hitting our "golden stretch'. -

We have the Saints, Carlton, North, Lions and Collingwood to play. In a simple world they should all be wins and that will give us 13. We also have Port at the MCG plus Adelaide in Darwin Hogan and Garlett back next week with Watts the next week. No excuses if we don't make the 8 -
such is the way the world ends ..... not with a bang but with a whimper
-
Hogan back next week and JKH gets a chance to show what he can do as a midfielder.
-
we're playing Buddy back to Coleman medal form .... aren't we nice
-
10 points in 2 quarters ..... someone posted that we were fine because the Swans couldn't kick 100 points for the game. They don't need to
-
free kick count is 14 -15
-
that game against the Blues is starting to look a tough one if Viney doesn't come back. How can we go through the season with almost zero injuries last year and this year ................... #$@%
-
let's face it our bottom four have never been any good take out five of our top ten and play a team that is on a roll .... it will not be pretty Let's hope the percentage doesn't take too big a hit and we can move onto Carlton who will see us a wounded animal
-
and about five others ..... need a miracle
-
Have almost mentally moved past this game and now looking forward to the Blues next week. MFCSS at its worst but those injuries are real killers
-
interesting ... makes the emergencies even stranger given that most thought Hunt would play forward
-
enjoy the orange flag boat just stay on it as it heads up river ... when it reaches the end there is a great street food market One of the best and cheapest river cruises in the world ! Go Dees !!

wow.... what a ladder Must have made for a real heart stopping final round.. And to end with Collingwood as the wooden spooner is gold in itself well done (but Richmond must be ninth to make it perfect!!) -

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 15
Diamond_Jim replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
we will be doing very well to score 100 points There have only been two teams that have scored in excess of 100 points in a night game at the MCG and they were in rounds 1 (Richmond) and 8 (Essendon) when the weather was a little better Mind you MCG has not had that many night games this year
