  1. Viney = good/ very good player but doubtful X factor Hunt .... would like to think so but at present he only has the speed factor Oliver and CP5 are the obvious candidates ...perhaps... let's hope so... Oliver needs to develop a kicking game PS.. On thinking some more perhaps Hogan but not necessarily as a FF but more a CHF/ Dustin Martin type player
  2. Going into this season I hoped the "Gawn factor" would give us the edge that would make us a contender. It didn't happen. Not really confident that any of our present players have the X factor to take us all the way. Hope I'm wrong. Not sold on the game plan (lacks forward structure perhaps) but that is for another thread.
  3. But is this true? If so you would expect our effective clearance rate to be top notch but it's average at best. Please don't think I'm knocking him but he has a way to go
  4. Take a deep breath and think on this statement. We are a high percentage handball team many of which are in the nature of old fashioned circle work. Many people have said that Oliver needs to increase his kicking percentage. Lot of upside for Oliver but a good reality check for those who think he is an automatic elite.
  5. Subject to Rule 20(c) below, a Player who has played in an AFL Home and Away Match after 1 July in the relevant season will be ineligible to play in VFL Senior Grade or Development League Finals Series Matches unless that Player has played in a combined total of at least six (6) Senior Grade or Development League Home and Away Matches in the same season. Hard to think of many who played v Collingwood meeting this criteria... it was our best 22 (he sobs).
  6. well I think a few howitzers were trained at those last few turns in the path. I think the lesson for next year is buy your own bulldozer and build your own path. What an emotional waste ... will be interested in the season critiques on various players. Perhaps 5 or 6 of them had an overall positive year. Very little at Casey to get excited about either.
  7. Off to church now Perhaps it is an omen given Adelaide is the city of churches !! Go Dees PS I suppose that should be.... Go Crows
  8. The live online betting odds always fascinates me....Crows are now at $4.40 with Eagles at ( not sure because betting was suddenly suspended) ??? Just came back and Crows at $3.50 Someone must have put a lot of money on the Crows
  9. In Salzburg at present............not sure what today's theme song should be: Oscillating between Climb every Mountain and Mozart's Requiem.
  10. The old path is looking very rocky and the gate is barred. Perhaps we can squeeze below that bottom bar and get into that beautiful green paddock. Not sure as a mare that we really want to go into a paddock full of stallions but who knows??
  11. Last quarter ..season on the line and we come up with 3 goals ...not one from a regular forward... tells you something
  12. Luckily Pies have missed a few we are just not that good
  13. and my care factor is .....
  14. 3 goals down with 12 minutes to play.... season on the line mmmmmm interesting
  15. the corpse...... she breathes!!
  16. 5 goals to 3 that quarter Need to do better in the last to win Why
  17. and wow... we got it....again please
  18. really need one more goal this quarter
  19. I am somewhat grateful that MFCSS has prepared me for this outcome and shields me from disappointment. Seriously though the second half of the season has been pedestrian at best
  20. perhaps the team is resting before the finals...wait a minute!!
  21. four goals in a half of football ...enough said
  22. Since the 8 came in has the premiership team missed the 8 in the next year? Ironically the Bulldogs probably had less injuries than last year PS... Have since answered my own question: Since the AFL went to an eight-team finals system in 2000, only once has the reigning premiers missed the finals the next season. In 2017, it will occur for the second time. The first time was the Hawks in ’09, after shocking the football world the year prior by knocking off a vintage Geelong team. http://www.theroar.com.au/2017/03/22/afls-reigning-premiers-miss-top-eight/ The article makes a number of good points including this one: The AFL’s banning of third-man-up at stoppages will have an adverse affect on the Dogs’ gameplan, as Marcus Bontempelli was a great exponent of it, ranked third in the league last season at 63 (per Champion Data).
  23. mmmmmmm could be a very hot thread by the end of the weekend. Hawks to win ... simply to lessen the Saints' draft pick
