  1. Yes.. he got one week. It was in a scratch match so perhaps it can be served in another scratch match if it hasn't already been done. Perhaps the AFL could use its discretion after the VFL season from hell. https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/teams/melbourne-demons/afl-news-2021-majak-daw-hit-on-mason-cox-throat-bruised-larynx-collingwood-magpies-injury-list-mro/news-story/303e549b60a1f31c51c141069aea488f PS the article talks about a Round 23 scratch match that he was going to be excluded from so perhaps he has served the suspension
  2. Darwin... No thanks Home games against Geelong, Essendon and Carlton plus Richmond and Collingwood should go a long way to squaring the ledger. Darwin not needed. As many as possible in the first half of the season recognising that Richmond will need to be asecond half game.
  3. Need an early home game against Essendon at the MCG. It would be a big money earner to make up for our two blockbusters which I think are both away games
  4. so assuming they do the dynamic 6 week fixture again at least for the the first six weeks how many Friday night games do we get next year in the first six weeks. My guess is two. If we were Richmond or Collingwood it would be four. An early MCG home match against Essendon could be an enormous money spinner
  5. Friday night here we come..... A source told The Age that Channel Seven gifted some of their sponsors, who didn’t originally plan to run advertisements during the telecast of the big game, some free plugs. The reason for that act of generosity was partly due to there being so many ad breaks because of the glut of goals that were kicked in the second half. In essence, Melbourne kicked too many goals for the host broadcaster to keep up with, leaving them with extra ad spots to fill. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/glut-of-demon-goals-leads-to-free-ads-for-lucky-companies-20210929-p58vtg.html
  6. Nice to think that there's some upside in a few players after such a big win. Sparrow is definitely one and I think Rivers has AA potential in 2023. Both however certainly did their bit at the 2021 big dance
  7. Beware the Instagram celebration.... https://www.theage.com.au/national/western-australia/melbourne-demon-fans-arrested-in-regional-wa-after-sneaking-into-state-to-attend-grand-final-20210928-p58vhe.html Melbourne bar and restaurant owner Hayden Burbank and financial planner Mark Babbage have been arrested after allegedly entering Western Australia by falsely claiming to be Darwin residents and attending the AFL grand final. The pair were taken into custody in WA’s south west region on Tuesday morning after police made a public plea to find them on Monday night. A photo on the AFL’s Instagram account shows Mr Burbank, who owns Chapel Street venue Morris Jones, inside the Demons locker rooms celebrating and drinking with players after the club’s 57-year drought-breaking win at Optus Stadium on Saturday.
  8. you may well be right but the extension of Brown suggests to me that they think Melk might go elsewhere. There's also the issue of where Bedford and Chandler fit in. We seem to have a surfeit of forwards. Down back though is another story. Cannot see Hibberd playing 22 plus games in 2022.
  9. 21/11/ 21 (21 November) has a certain symmetry. It's also a Sunday. Unfortunately the 80% double vaxed moment is probably in the following week
  10. From ABC radio this morning I think they had the help of at least the Fremantle cheer squad
  11. Agree Add in a stream with players commentating plus some analysis by Goodwin and the coaching team. Would sell very well
  12. Couldn't help but chuckle at this comment not to mention the unintended pun "Sorry but this is the worst grand final performance over ever seen. This could put some long term scars. We’ll see next year. We’ve done well to get here. I’m proud of our efforts up until tonight. But we’ve clearly got a lot of mental demons to work out. We’re too weak and inconsistent." Poster had obviously never watched the 1988 and 2000 GF's 😢
  13. I suspect that most of the stuff is generic and they just add the logo etc. There are lots of these "souvenir/corporate branding"mobs around. I worked for a company that was big in giving away branded stuff and we all took joy in collecting the most esoteric/useless stuff. Bulldogs made about a quarter from its 2016 win as compared to Tigers the following year. With covid it will be interesting to see how we do. On a related note I hope Demonland issues a few of its own memorabilia. We owe it to this site.
  14. Retire the number for 2 years is my suggestion.
  15. What a wonderful outcome in what has been a difficult year for so many. For me it is players such as Harmes and ANB who epitomise the improvement in this team not to mention the three amigos from the West who joined us in 2020. I will enjoy re-watching each game of 2021 over the off season
  16. Must say I was wondering who would have a day out if we won big. Great to see it was Fritsch Did you notice he was second behind Petracca in the Norm Smith with 10 votes. Every panelist gave him second best on ground. Quite an achievement
  17. Jack was one of the relatively unsung heroes of our finals series. Cannot recall him getting caught HTB once
  18. who has a DVD player in this day and age. Bit like floppy disc drives How about a replay with various commentaries and analysis by coaches and players...
  19. 26 possessions to a small half back Do we have a coach !!!
  20. kick straight anyone been our problem all year
  21. Here is an excellent article explaining when and how the GF can be watched. Foxtel/Kayo replay available at 11:15 Game can be streamed from 7plus app but only on certain devices (why I have no idea) You can stream the Grand Final live on the 7plus App, but only on selected TV’s or set-top-boxes. Importantly, you cannot watch the game through the 7 App on your mobile phone or tablet, as is the case for all AFL matches and the Brownlow Medal, which caught many people out on Sunday night (see below for info on how you can watch it on your mobile). This is due to broadcast restrictions put in place by the AFL. You can watch the game through the app on the following devices: Telstra TV, Samsung Tizen (2016 and later), Fetch TV, Apple TV, PlayStation 4 & 5, Android TV, Google TV, LG TV. You cannot use Chromecast or AirPlay to watch the Grand Final and you cannot watch a replay of the game on the app. https://www.austadiums.com/news/1054/how-to-watch-the-2021-afl-grand-final-+-live-stream Breaking news you can watch it on a mobile through the AFL app Some good news late Friday night by the AFL, with confirmation the AFL Grand Final will now be able to be streamed live on your mobile device through the AFL Live Official App
  22. I thought Jimmy Stynes as well. You can pick out the J and the S 1998 was his last year
  23. Congratulations to the selected 22. They have the chance to join that very special group of players. Go Dees
  24. It's fair the market determined Treloar was worth $X in 2021. That is what the Bulldogs are paying. Collingwood on the other hand are paying a $300k per year "penalty" to Treloar for getting the sums wrong. It could also easily have been us paying $200k a year had Tom Mac been traded last year.
