agree but in 2018 that is how we beat them. Crowd the ball carrier, cause a fumble and we took it away. It was the one of those times when an opposition team didn't get the handball out to the running player. GWS at their best were exquisite at getting the overlap going. In 2020 many teams were successful against them by forcing them to the boundary line and protecting the area say 15 metre in from the line. Who will we play on Toby G I wonder?

Agree.... it's a good problem to have and if all 3 perfrom one of TMac or Weid will be traded at the end of the year which will further strengthen the team. What are the odds of both TMac annd the Weid performing.... not that great... but one can hope
-
He's always lead to the pocket and I think that is a strength. Needs to increase his goal kicking accuarcy by around 15% to 1.5 goals average per game. The mistake we make is in thinking he can be a 70 goal forward

VFL has never started before Round 2 and in most cases round 3. It has always had multiple byes. It's a cheap practice comp... integrity disappeared around ten years ago. Remind me which year it was when MFC effectively pulled its players out of the VFL finals series.

cost recovery for a community football oval... let's call it for what it is.... wedge politics
-
I think they still use it when cricket is played on the ground. A beautiful thing that scoreboard with all the chains and pulleys
-
I'd send Fritsch and a trainer to Canberra today for daily goal practice. IIRC Manuka used to be a similar size to the MCG. Is that still correct?

without wishing to get political it's a Greens dominated council who believe that their number 1 challenge is global warming. I believe in global warming but somehow I think the council's bigger challenges might be closer to home. Charging by reference to "inclusiveness" is a new concept. My son played his junior football finals at the Brunswick oval. A lovely set up

actually it's a lovely 27 degrees predicted for Sunday with a 15-20k northerly. Should be perfect around game time. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we win each quarter by say 16points. I think the last stress free game I can remember was the 100 points win against Carlton

Eagles and Port have 12 home games....(including the derbies) add to that four away wins and they are top 4. Hard to see either missing this year. Tigers will definitely be in the four unless one or both of their two forwards are injured. Who gets fourth....
-
There's two types of premiership teams. Those who are great teams and would include the likes of Birsbane, Hawthorn WCE and Richmond in their prime. The other is those who are lucky on the day. Dogs and Port come to mind. We are definitely in the luck case. The top 4 is almost sewn up between Port, Tigers and Eagles. Hard to see us being the fourth and you definitely need luck from outside the 4.

Brown used to play forward ruck at NM quite often. If and when he gets on the park will be interesting to see if he is given that job like Geelomg use Hawkins.

blame the algorithm would work a lot better if seats were allocated the night before a game as putting them on sale a week beforehand means the IT people have to guess the total attendance to apply the spread. In reality I suspect there's a lot of smoke and mirrors but perhaps I'm a cynic.

All those night games... a sponsor's dream
-
it's 4 weeks away minimum Unless one of the existing bunch has a form drop off or injury Weid will play at Casey for a few weeks. Brown will probably have one Casey game as well. Who will go out? LJ in the first week and then perhaps a rotation/rest system for a few weeks between the four talls. If Weid shows form at Casey and no one drops off it would be a nice problem to have.

the AFL needs to have a think about how it communicates on ticket sales. Many people have assumed packed stadiums and stay away. 25k for the first home Saints game after a successful season was strange to say the least
-
Given that it is an Easter Sunday game I wouldn't think the crowd would be huge by any means. It has a seating capacity of 13.5k and another 2k standing (if allowed) and the ACT allows 100% capacity
-
Just looked at our run home.. horrendous to say the least would be good if a few of those 7-12 teams were out of the running early. GWS is one of them. Loss today and fingers crossed another loss next week would severely dent their chances. Who are the others.... Hawks and Sydney come to mind. Freo perhaps along with Carlton
-
a very disappointing crowd.
-
Salem Oliver Langdon Pickett Petracca Jones PS after the first two very hard given the all round team performance. Had Fritsch kicked straight he would be 2 or 3.
-
No change Probably the best team performance in the last 4-5 years. Not one passenger
-
