  1. Grrrrrrrrr next weeks game against Williamstown is a night match. One of my favourite venues on a windless afternoon And we play Coburg at Casey the following week and not at the delightful Coburg oval. Hopefully we play at the temple of the Burra Burger
  2. Strongly expect this to be the tactic most adopted against us. The way to beat it is simple. Kick goals and then the other side has to take risks playing catch up. Harder than it sounds but our goalkicking allowed Essendon and GCS to stay in the game
  3. He's on his last year of a circa $700k contract. Not quite peanuts
  4. well at least we are at the right end of the ladder for the mass of early draft picks that will be heading across Bass Strait. Can see a few clubs wary of losing marquee players anxious to top up their bank balances. Would be interested to see what would have happened draft wise over the last five years had they been in existence and given preferential access to Tasmanian draftees. Hopefully the Government gives them a "free clean"stadium like Geelong has or I can't see them ever breaking even. The splitting of home games between Launceston and Hobart while understandable politically will never work longer term. And of course which Melbourne teams will be sent South after the eight odd interstate teams are slotted to play down there
  5. just rock up. If a member entrance is free Yes...on the AFL website/app
  6. T Mac plays a different game structurally to that which was played by Weid last night. It is actually more like that which SW has been playing in the VFL. Assuming BBB plays I think Weid will be selected in the T Mac role. The Adelaide weather next week is looking good with a medium breeze and around 22 at opening bounce
  7. the issues around BBB are whether he contracts the virus from his close contact. If so the 6/7 day clock starts from that day. There is nothing to stop him relocating to a private place where training is easier ( home gym and running area)provided he can drive himself there.A nearby rural property would be ideal Would like to think that the club has thought this all through well in advance and has various contingency plans and options for both single and partnered players
  8. the sam v tmac debate will be interesting
  9. Bombers have kicked 5 goals straight this quarter Let's hope the last isn't a shoot out
  10. yea !!!! I say yea !!
  11. definitely not got the kicking boots on tonight
  12. One more month and a quick rapid test and BB could have played. Would have been happy to see Mitch Brown come into the side but perhaps he plays too much like Fritsch. Not confident at all about Weid having an impact marking wise but hopefully he can bring the smaller forwards into play
  13. Rarely would one witness a game where one ruckman is so absolutely dominant but at the same time ineffectual
  14. Some important games this weekend in shaping the top ten and the rest. Hawks and Carlton (with one being undefeated) skews the longer term perspective perhaps. The interesting ones for me are Pies V Cats, Adelaide v Port and Saints v Richmond. You can mount a case for each being a comparative upset result.
  15. has nicely moved from the 15-20 brigade selection wise into the 10-15 slot. Could be a 200 gamer easily
  16. Not his fault someone couldn't push him out of his spot in his second and even more so in his third year. When drafted most were hoping for two years tops and the third mainly at Casey. We also had few senior (post 28 yo) players We definitely got what we paid for
  17. if we had been able to trade Melksham last summer things would be easier. $400k saving. T Mac on another year of 600k plus doesn't help. Sure the impact is reduced next year and Brayshaw is probably facing a cut but it wont be easy. An increase in the TPP cap is not necessarily of help because it frees up money for the bidding clubs as well
  18. Last year most of the season we would head for the right forward pocket so the default was OOB and reset. Perhaps since BB we are going more central
  19. only saw the last quarter. Nice win but no one bashing the door down good handball but perhaps recipients too close leading to congestion and turnovers
  20. Not prepared to write off TMac based on last night. All the MFC talls except LJ failed to some degree. Hope Weid gets back for today's game at Casey
