  1. Back into the pack... looking over our shoulder for teams trying to take our top 4 spot. The game in Alice against the Suns is crucial Cost us any remote chance of top 2 that we still had
  2. Cometh the Hour... Cometh the Loss Sometimes you wonder of it's our motto
  3. come on dees what is about Taxpayer Park we never seem to get it right.... Is this the night !!
  4. this will kill us if we keep it up.............not just in this game. Kick Straight and Prosper
  5. time for a bit of class from our key players in the third quarter. Need to break this game open
  6. back to the movie....... this will be a long night
  7. This is a big game. Win and we are a game clear of the pack and well on our way to top 4. Lose and we are back with the pack looking over our shoulder each week. Form says we should win but we cannot afford to repeat our inaccuracy of the English King's Birthday. Dees by 22 !!
  8. Kick straight and Prosper
  9. Perhaps a Druid ceremony is in order
  10. He knew that last year and offered himself around... no takers Much the same as Tom Mac in 2020. It's a tough game... just ask Luke Dunstan and to a lesser extentJosh Schache
  11. I suppose it was the old three into two doesn't go. Once you assume Petty fit one of Smith or Tomlinson had to go. If this works it may be a master stroke as both Petty and Smith can play forward and back thus allowing flexibility in weeks to come. Mind you I'm not convinced that Smith is a forward but it's all part of the ride
  12. you do wonder why it's being played at night. I suppose it is to make it easier for the non AFL listed players who have jobs. Wonder what they prefer Friday night or noon Saturday.
  13. Langdon only had badly bruised ribs as I recall. A week out and it took him a long time to regain full form. Years ago I had bruised ribs..... painful is an understatement.
  14. Interesting their criticism of Cameron. He's a very good player
  15. Schache has missed his chance for this year. Just gets pushed off the ball too easily as a key forward in a one on one and does not seem to have the ability to find space. Is there a spot going forward into 2024... I can't see it If Petty is half fit and unavailable for the main game we could do worse than give him a half to 3/4 at Casey for this game.
  16. See the people sitting on the top of the stairwell entrances to the Olympic Stand. Those were the days. I can recall sitting on top of a shed to watch a match at Princes Park (circa 1965). There was also a big crowd brawl near me which is the only one I can recall. No yellow vested security guards in those days
  17. The next step is allowing private equity to buy a 49% stake in the League. It's not buying a club but rather a stake in future revenues produced by the League. Cricket Australia are doing the sums and it would be naive to think that the AFL and NRL are not doing the same. Who are these private equity funds.. mainly State owned wealth funds. The upside is the resale value in the longer term. The plus for us is that AFL is a minnow on the world stage but economically we are reasonably placed on the world list of available sports.
  18. I think they will rethink the double header simply because it reduced the number of tourist bunnies for the first game. There's a number of possible work arounds. With the two Adelaide teams being relatively strong some may push back against the extra home games and the home ground/crowd advantage. My MFCSS suggests we might be a bunny unless the AFL now having done the 3 year deal and banked the money offer the also rans of GCS and GWS.
  19. Blame the clubs and the players. AFL said... you want an extra million each and Gil was run over in the rush Why not have two or three gather rounds. There's six other States and two territories anxious to buy a bread and circus weekend. Hell why not NZ? Spread between three cities it would be a boon for tourism. Ironically airfares wouldn't be much higher
  20. After this year FOMO will drive a ticketing/hotel/travel rush. You only need 5k travelling fans from each of the non SA clubs to effectively "block book" Adelaide Interesting releasing the date of the weekend without the fixture. Means everyone will need a 3 day stay if they book in advance
  21. As well as ourselves the Blues have Port and the Pies. A couple of upsets (excluding us) would be nice
  22. Looking like we are seeing a partial solar eclipse
  23. They have played one more game than the Pies so it could be an aberration. Shades of what is to come with 19 teams. Assuming they have the byes in blocks rather than one team each week and who knows what for the last five rounds the ladder positions will be a relative nightmare on a weekly basis.
  24. At the time everyone was saying that playing in the NT was worth X members. The funny thing is that it was because the NT Gov't part paid by buying memberships thus artificially inflating our figures
  25. Petty with the main group. Thanks Kev Very interesting.........selection wise
