The Trading & Drafting to Get Back on Track Board is LIVE

Might be adding Grundy before too long -
Earlier this year I was a fan of Gawn spending more time in F50 but he was pretty poor there this season IMO. His kicking is unreliable (that's being extremely generous) and his ability to compete once the ball hits the ground is not great which is understandable for someone his size.

Too small to be a KPF
-
What all that tells me is that we should be seriously considering playing Petty forward next year He is our best tall defender IMO (yes better than May) but we need to play him forward and find a replacement in the back 6 that can cover the 195cm + talls - problem is I don't think that's Tommo - it could be Turner but he is probably a bit small - it could be Weideman but I just can't see him ever being a defender, it could be Joel Smith because he does have the spring to compete/spoil taller opponents

Correct -
Very sorry to see LJ go - I think he will be an absolute champion of the game - some may not agree but he is a unique talent I hope its the right decision for him and I just don't believe its about the dollars. However, I can see some tough times ahead for him if his performances don't live up to the lofty expectations of whichever supporter base he plays for next I just hope we get fairly compensated and use that compensation wisely - we have seen this season that each year we must improve our list to remain competitive - as it stands right now we are at least one big step backward - I really hope that when the dust settles we all feel like we have made a decent leap forward

Two of the most pathetic gift goals I’ve ever seen - total panic stations
-
Trac looks v v sore not sure he should be out there
-
Fremantle are a joke - don't want to trade a player that can't get a regular game in the 1's - don't have any decent picks to trade but still want to attract players from other clubs to join them Dream on !

ET gone home

Irrespective of what needs to be given up the real question is whether he is an AFL footballer - from the little bit I've seen the answer is no Having said that if our FD thinks he is up to it then I'm happy to defer to their judgement
-
If, and it remains a big if, LJ decides to move west and a reasonable trade can be negotiated we are one Max injury away from being completely hapless in ruck That is unsustainable for any football club much less one that wants to be competing at the pointy end of the season Even if LJ stays we are still very much in need of a back up ruck - for all those suggesting Weid can be competitive in the ruck I don't agree - we don't have to pay overs for this player (see Tom Hickey, Rhys Stanley as examples) I'm sure our recruiting team has a list of potentials for ruck depth - we need to improve our depth in that space in the offseason
-
I think that makes sense - he looked a long way off being ready to make an impact at AFL level in his one and only Casey game back from serious injury

What ? Am I not allowed to find it funny Take a chill pill
-
This thread is hilarious - he’s going , he’s gone, Grundy in , Grundy out , Freo hot , Freo cold And all the time still not a single word from the man himself - he’d be rolling around in stitches reading this
-
For Casey ?
-
Agree and have said the same in another post - lots of upside
-
He can't kick to save himself - Think Jake Melksham on set shots last Friday night
-
Our guys seemed to go alright two weeks ago against a very parochial Brisbane crowd - a team that it all to play for yet we’re monstered from start to finish
-
I think you will find that this happens to ensure the ball hits the ground rather than an intercept mark By contrast May took numerous intercept marks primarily because he was well on top of Franklin but also because there was no other Swans tall competing in the air

Could not agree more good summary of the real issue
-
Not saying our F50 work is perfect but envious of how other finalists are so much better ?? Geelong scored 9 more points Collingwood 3 points more Freo 4 points more Dogs less We missed some very easy goals Sydney are very well drilled and structured defensively we lost the game by handing back momentum in the second quarter - that came on the back of others not in our F50 structure
-
Yes it was a chance to atone BUT if you actually review the last two games against the Swans we were in a winning position - same with the pies We are not far off winning those games and if we play our best footy and don’t have major brain fades we can beat any of the remaining teams including Collingwood and Swans I don’t really rate Brisbane or Dockers but there is next to nothing between the other four and they all have a real chance this year Our form at the MCG has been a worry but there is no reason why they can’t change quickly - it was fine in 2018 when we last had finals there Friday night we looked terribly flat from the first bounce and still looked in control until Buddy flopped to get a 50m penalty and goal (one of three goals from 50m penalties btw) and then Max tried a ridiculous pass that led to another gift and just like that momentum shifted and they got their tails up
-
At least when Charlie gets the ball he can deliver to a teammate - if you haven’t noticed one of greatest flaws when we play poorly is an inability to connect with our forwards - Spargo is one of the few that can do this well consistently He isn’t perfect and I would love to see more penetration in his kicking but he will continue to play until we find others that are better at finding teammates in F50
