Brisbane v Melbourne tickets/functions/catch up etc
Now you've got me worried. I booked through a third party online site and they've accepted my booking (made 2 weeks ago). I'm going to have to follow that up.

Brisbane v Melbourne tickets/functions/catch up etc
Oh, I will be there! Do you know how to ensure I'm seated with decent (ie Melbourne) people?

I'm at the Paramount Motel which I believe is about 3 minutes walk away!

Brisbane v Melbourne tickets/functions/catch up etc
Yeah... I've only just wandered back on.... Ticket already booked I oddly feel more comfortable when I don't think we're a premiership chance anymore. I might be able to enjoy games again!

Brisbane v Melbourne tickets/functions/catch up etc
Virgin had a triple status points promotion a few weeks ago and in a desperate desire to take advantage I reached for the AFL schedule and spontaneously booked 1 ticket to Brisbane to see us play the LIons. I arrive midday Friday and leave Sat morning. I have booked cheap accommodation a 10 minute walk away. I'm on my own (can't believe I got the leave pass from Mrs BIg Col but I don't look a gift horse in the mouth) Only thing I haven't organised is footy tickets, although I'm also keen on catching up with Dees fans when there. So ... 1/ How do I get tickets that are around Dees fans? Is there an allocation? 2/ Are there any functions or pubs or hang outs that Dees fans are likely to congregate? 3/ Any D'Landers who want to catch up before or after for a beer etc ? 4/ Anything else to know?

Reid Sling Tackle, Darcy Bump, Rising Star Wide Open
I have Windsor into Melb top 4 that will net me $750 on a $5 bet so I'm kind of excited now! (if Petracca also wins the Brownlow, it becomes $12000 !!). Hoping for a win tomorrow, where Trac is BOG and Windsor kicks 2 goals.

Reid Sling Tackle, Darcy Bump, Rising Star Wide Open
Windsor could be in with a real chance now if Reid and Darcy both get suspended. They both should, much as we may want to give a medal to Darcy.

CASEY: Rd 10 vs Coburg
This is my hood. I have a few locals I know who are true Coburg Lions fans. They're my 2nd VFL team. If you go, please support the club by purchasing a beer/dim sim/chips etc

"Geelong was a little bit off today" "The schedule we've had really took its toll" "We are obviously a much better side than this"

CASEY: Rd 07 vs Carlton

Fritsch Sealer Multiple Commentary
I reacted the same as the commentators. "ah, he's overkicked it ... out of bounds {relax} ... what? OMG that's crazy"

Mother's Day: Goodness gracious me. Congrats to the AFL.
I met this woman a few years ago who told me how she had six children under 10 years of age. All the kids, both boys and girls, were called 'Daicos' because she was such a massive Collingwood fan. "Fair enough" I said "but how do address your kids given they all have the same name?" "No problem" she told me."I just call them by their surnames"

Father's Day must be so confusing for them too

Harrison Petty
Petty is a FA in 2026. If he leaves then, the most we can get is a first round comp which would realistically be 13-19. Plus, if he leaves then, and we want to bring in a free agent ourselves, then that will dilute our compensation. If Petty plays the rest of the season like he did last night then his asking price for a trade is very high indeed. It'll be an interesting trade season for us. If there's some good FAs available to us and the trade offer for Petty includes multiple first round (and high first-round) picks then we could set ourselves to be competing for a premiership for another 10 years. (eg pick up another 2 star midfielders to replace Clarry and Trac) Either way, a performing Petty means MFC is doing well.

Mother's Day: Goodness gracious me. Congrats to the AFL.
For years, especially when we were performing poorly, the AFL would schedule us at 1pm on Mother's Day at the MCG while we'd be mocked for getting a crowd of only 15,000. Well, strike me dead. I just looked at next week's schedule and lo and behold .... 1pm Collingwood vs West Coast (which will be 11am in Perth) Furthermore, it's to be played at Docklands. Yes, Collingwood will play a home game at Docklands. I'm flabbergasted that the AFL have done something so good with their fixturing. So kudos to the AFL.

PREGAME: Rd 09 vs Carlton
Pretty sure that tonight's emergencies - Hunter, Hore and B Brown will be rested tomorrow and are the only ones up for consideration for Thursday night. I think there'll be no change except perhaps around the sub. Although Laurie only got one touch after he came on in the last Q he was good the week before. Still, I think I'd rather take Hunter and/or Hore. My preference: IN: Hunter, Hore (sub) OUT: Billings, Laurie Emergencies: Billings, Laurie, B Brown Of course, if Bowey is fully fit it changes this, but I think he can get a 3/4 run at Casey and be back for the week after.

VOTES: Rd 08 vs Geelong
6 - Lever 5- May (Cameron/Hawkins with 0.4 between them!) 4 - Petty (never doubted you....) 3 - Windsor (rising star beckons this week) 2 - Oliver (returning to form) 1 - Gawn Apologies to Fritta for his goals, Kozzie who was a live wire, and Trac who misses out on votes only because he should have nailed those 2 goal attempts and by his standards his game was just OK (21 disposals).

NON-MFC: Round 08
Wouldn't just love to have Carlton's forward line? We'd be unstoppable.

NON-MFC: Round 07
I can't help it but it seems like GWS are my no2 team. Love jesse and keep wanting him to kick goals. I always rated Bedford. We didn't give him enough love and he's a regular at GWS now. Even though Toby G isn't playing tonight, he is a fave of mine too. Plus my daughter reckons their song is the best. Maybe it's because I know w****rs who support every other team but I've never met a Giant's fan. I feel dirty. I need a shower.

PREGAME: Rd 08 vs Geelong
I thought McAdam was excellent in the Casey game today. I didn't see all of the game but he took a number of really solid overhead marks in the forward line and kicked 2 or 3 goals. He really looked the goods to me. If we decide to send Petty to Casey to find form then I agree we should probably give Fullerton a go. I'm not as excited about this one though.

POSTGAME: Rd 07 vs Richmond
I certainly thought that too. For much of the game both teams had players behind the ball making long kicks down the line a poor option. We did a lot of short kicking and then tried to centre it. We stuffed that up many times. Because of these skill errors most of the goals scored against us seemed to come from turnovers when we were caught outnumbered in defence. We could have kept Richmond to half of their measly score had we played more conservatively. The tagging of Trac is a concern if other teams take it up and we don't have Oliver & Viney stepping up. Trac got better in the second half but was clearly rattled in the first. M Picket played a very good game. Hopper doing his hammy helped us win back the midfield. I think that the period from now until the bye is still the experimentation phase until we settle on what our best side is in the last part of the season. We've banked early wins. We have Geel, Carl, WCE, Stk, Freo and Coll before the bye. We should be aiming (and be happy with) 4/6 but 3/6 will be fine if we can learn what our best 23 looks like. I think we need to stick with Petty as a forward for a few more games, as poor as he seemed today, before we send him to Casey. I'm not sure when/if we should give up on the experiment but he was a very good defender. We're going to need top class defenders when May eventually retires.

CASEY: Rd 05 vs Richmond
Only sneaking views of the game during work, but so far I've seen three impressive overhead grabs from McAdam. I think we'll see him in the 1s very soon.
