PREGAME: Rd 21 vs North Melbourne
So who are the 4 interchange and 1 sub? Petty is a certainty (doh) Sparrow for mid-field rotations (rather than Harmes) Tomlinson Hibberd (or is that too may backs?) Smith is the perfect sub Spargo will be kept out by the form of Chandler Grundy is destined to be an emergency every game

What they are saying at Arden Street
They have PA's first pick, so we will be doing them a favour if we can chase down 2nd spot and push PA to 3rd or 4th.

POSTGAME: Rd 20 vs Richmond
Agree. I'd love to see anyone with 'niggles' rested when we have such quality depth. We definitely want to run Petty/JVR next week, but maybe with Grundy rucking. I can't see BG making it back into our best side but we need him to be ready should Max get injured. Of course he'll probably get 30 possies and kick 3 goals and we won't want to drop him for the week after ...

CASEY: Rd 18 vs Coburg
I hate the way the VFL has been merged with the Reserves. Tomorrow I get to watch the Demons Reserves (aka Casey) play a torpedo punt* from my home. But I'll feel like a goddamn traitor when my Coburg drinking buddies see me in red and blue. Any other week I support the Lions. Coburg Lions are really struggling this year. It's hard to compete against AFL clubs and professional athletes. All Demon fans going to Coburg, please eat as many snags and chips as you can, and drink the Coburg Lager. Help keep the Lions viable. * I'm probably talking 5 x Malcolm Blight torps if I'm honest

PREGAME: Rd 19 vs Adelaide
If Hibberd is OK to go, might he come in for Petty? I think I'm in the 'give Tommo a go' camp but I can't think who Hibberd would replace. I thought J Smith makes a very good sub and played well tonight when he came on (and we played him both back and forward tonight), so he doesn't deserve to go.

VOTES: Rd 18 vs Brisbane
6 Trac (4 quarters of brilliance, has fixed the gk yips) 5 Max (welcome back. that last quarter ...) 4 Jack V (in form equal to or better than his B&F year) 3 Gus (like him as an inside mid) 2 Milkshake (despite some clangers early I thought he was playing well, then we saw his last quarter heroics...) 1 Kozzie (back to the Kozzie we know and love)

NON-MFC: Rd 17 2023
Although it may (appear or) be better for us if WB lose, I can't help but support the Dogs tonight. Pies look vulnerable AF. In the end, we make top 4 if we're good enough. This game is exposing Magpies.

" and we will never surrender ...' Great win GWS. Very happy. Surely that makes it too hard for Freo finals now?

NON-MFC: Rd 14 2023
My 11yo daughter, whose passion for the game is limited to how good their songs are, is with me barracking for GWS (the best song excluding 'Red and the Blue') to avoid hearing Freo's song (something worse than being forced to eat all her vegetables). I always play the songs loud at the end of games.

What They Are Saying At Victoria Park
Be gentle. The toothbrush was invented by a Collingwood fan after all. (Otherwise it would have been called a 'teethbrush')

Contenders & Pretenders
Ess were only 6W/5L at Rd11 (now at 7W/5L). Every Premier in the last 10 years was at least 7W/4L at Rd11. I think we're still in with a shot this year and while I was the most despondent after a win I've ever been after Friday night, I feel better now. The Flag is wide open.
