  1. I want to know, Collingwood, have you ever seen the rain?
  2. I actually think the first round of finals should be 1v3 and 2v4. If the higher teams win then the prelims become 1v4 and 2v3. The way it runs now, prelims are more skewered towards 1v3 and 2v4
  3. I meant that our 2nd round pick will slip to 38 because other clubs will receive compensation for free agents, pushing our pick back - not that we would receive pick 38 for free agents.
  4. Pick 4 is 2034 points If we traded: 19 (after winning the premiership and allowing for Mackay free agent comp) 25 (rd 2 from freo assuming only one FA before then) 38 (2nd round pick assuming 2 FAs) we'd be 72 points short, which a future 3rd round might cover. Of course we'd then have to rely on whatever trade value we got from any players traded plus free agents to get our 3rd pick or our 2nd and 3rd pick if we traded for #1 4 and 5 OR 5 and 6 are worth more than #1 so we'd get some change back from WCE if we went that way. I'd think they might take it. Of course if we bomb out in the finals our hand is stronger but let's not think of that now.
  5. haha. I always list my votes without referencing any stats or anybody else. I honestly forgot about Fritter until I'd submitted my votes and then went 'doh' after i saw everyone else.
  6. 6 Trac 5 ANB 4 Brayshaw 3 Viney 2 Langdon 1 Hunter
  7. I want us to win as many games as we can, and finish as high as we can, but finishing 4th means 2 finals (at least) at the MCG! (assuming Coll still finishes top)
  8. 6 Lever 5 Rivers 4 Langdon 3 Melksham 2 Neale-Bullen 1 McVee
  9. Would love the Roos to get up. 1/ ensure west coast get pick #1, who are more likely than Nth to trade for #1 2/ undermine their argument for a priority pick in the first round (ie before our first pick) 3/ reduce the incentive for WC to tank against FREO if they know they'll still get pick #1
  10. feel the same. there were always 2 teams to support each week; the Demons and whoever was playing Freo
  11. Would have been nice to have got that percentage booster we needed, but the boys got the job done after a slow start. Hope Petty is OK. He was looking good before going off. A Freo win, despite the death riding, would top off the weekend.
  12. You're saying we should keep out of Harmes way?
  13. So who are the 4 interchange and 1 sub? Petty is a certainty (doh) Sparrow for mid-field rotations (rather than Harmes) Tomlinson Hibberd (or is that too may backs?) Smith is the perfect sub Spargo will be kept out by the form of Chandler Grundy is destined to be an emergency every game
  14. They have PA's first pick, so we will be doing them a favour if we can chase down 2nd spot and push PA to 3rd or 4th.
  15. Agree. I'd love to see anyone with 'niggles' rested when we have such quality depth. We definitely want to run Petty/JVR next week, but maybe with Grundy rucking. I can't see BG making it back into our best side but we need him to be ready should Max get injured. Of course he'll probably get 30 possies and kick 3 goals and we won't want to drop him for the week after ...
  16. 6 Tom Petty 5 Mad Max Gawn 4 Jack the Ripper Viney 3 On Trac for Brownlow 2 Roo 1 Milkshake
  17. 6 Viney 5 Langdon 4 Gawn 3 Pickett 2 Brayshaw 1 Petracca
  18. I hate the way the VFL has been merged with the Reserves. Tomorrow I get to watch the Demons Reserves (aka Casey) play a torpedo punt* from my home. But I'll feel like a goddamn traitor when my Coburg drinking buddies see me in red and blue. Any other week I support the Lions. Coburg Lions are really struggling this year. It's hard to compete against AFL clubs and professional athletes. All Demon fans going to Coburg, please eat as many snags and chips as you can, and drink the Coburg Lager. Help keep the Lions viable. * I'm probably talking 5 x Malcolm Blight torps if I'm honest
  19. If Hibberd is OK to go, might he come in for Petty? I think I'm in the 'give Tommo a go' camp but I can't think who Hibberd would replace. I thought J Smith makes a very good sub and played well tonight when he came on (and we played him both back and forward tonight), so he doesn't deserve to go.
  20. 6 Trac (4 quarters of brilliance, has fixed the gk yips) 5 Max (welcome back. that last quarter ...) 4 Jack V (in form equal to or better than his B&F year) 3 Gus (like him as an inside mid) 2 Milkshake (despite some clangers early I thought he was playing well, then we saw his last quarter heroics...) 1 Kozzie (back to the Kozzie we know and love)
  21. 6 May 5 Trac 4 Viney 3 Sparrow 2 Salem 1 Brayshaw
  22. Although it may (appear or) be better for us if WB lose, I can't help but support the Dogs tonight. Pies look vulnerable AF. In the end, we make top 4 if we're good enough. This game is exposing Magpies.
