Was a cringe moment, but I'm so in love with the Dees atm that nothing else matters.

I'm in tears watching this. The kids had to ask me what was wrong. Will we win any more? Meanwhile Petracca says "I'm proud to be one of five Melbourne players ... " and the commentators do an eye-roll. I guess we don't win any more?

I'm just trying not to be too upset about the fact that I may not get to see live the event I've dreamed about for the best part of 47 years (I'm 53).

He is our most important player IMHO A superstar. If I wasn't past having any more kids, the next one would be called Clayton or Oliver - whether a boy or girl.

Bompt has been relatively quiet the last two weeks while Oliver probably got 3 votes today and maybe 1 vote last week. I think it will be very close. I took a multi early in the season: Melbourne and Casey premiership and Oliver Brownlow. $10 @ $129.77. Pretty happy abput that.

Do you think that means that Geel will be granted a home game at Kardinia Park if they finish 1 or 2? (and no crowds are allowed in Vic). If I were Geelong I'd be arguing for that. However I think the Grand Final precedent is that we want a crowd no matter what, so Perth would still be favourite for the location of the Grand Final. Curse this COVID 100x over.

This is the last chance to test any strategies/tactics or any match ups or whether any particular footballer is the one we need over another. While I don't think we should - or are - taking this game lightly, both clubs would want to keep something in reserve. We shouldn't give everything away to be di-sected by opposition in games when we do meet in the finals. I suspect that the outcome of Friday night's game may affect the way we play. We want to avoid an away game against Port in Adelaide but any other scenario in the first week of finals is K by me. Would the AFL schedule a game in Adelaide where Port were the away team if crowds could attend there but not in Vic?

If WB win on Fri night, should we expect a few to be rested? Perhaps Max?

Oh wow! Well done, Jake. So we received 5 nominations in the AFLPA Under 22s squad and that didn't include Jake. This is a magnificent result for the club.

1/ Merge Bne and the Suns. Bne get to take 8 players from GC but (both) lose all their draft picks next year to the new Tassie club, and then give up some picks to the new club for the next 2-4 years (maybe rd 1 one year and rd2 the next etc) Merged club plays 8 home games at the Gabba and 3 at Metricon 2/ Create new Tassie Club. They can select/trade up to 20 players from GC list. Get all the draft picks in their first year that would have gone to GC and Bne and draft picks after that for the next 2-4 years (see above) Priority drafting zone for Tasmanians (ie Academy) for 2-4 years 4 uncontracted players from existing AFL clubs (with compensation) PLay 4 home games at Hobart, 4 home games at Launceston and 3 home games at Gold Coast Play one away game in Hobart vs NM and one away game at Launceston vs Hawthorn per year. Notes This doesn't dilute the talent as it keeps same number of teams. Nor does it penalise existing poor clubs due for a high draft pick but miss out because of a new club. 6 games / year are still played at Gold Coast, so the area and stadium is not being abandoned. Hawthorn and North Melbourne can keep laying games in Tassie but must play one home game in Tassie against Tassie. There are 14 games in Tassie for the year (8 home games for the 'Devils', plus 3 for Hawks and 3 for North) [Alternatively, they could just make North play some home games up in GC]. The new BNE/GCS merged team would be a beast

It's late in the season and most good eligible players have already been nominated, so is there a chance for Rising Star nom? That would be awesome.

I want us to win tonight. I want us to be responsible for WCE missing the finals. I want Eagles fans to scapegoat the umpires, their old players, the lack of fans and everything else as they try to explain the loss. I want my cousin's kids, who live in Perth and are the only Dees at their school, to enjoy mocking those who have relentlessly stirred them all their lives. I want to text my Perth mate after the game and just say "ha, f*cking ha" In short, I want to HUMILIATE the Eagles. I want us to show no mercy as we grind them into oblivion. Remember how you felt in the 2018 Prelim? Embrace the feeling. Now is the moment that our Premiership campaign takes off. No more losses - six more wins. Go Demons!
