Guardian Article: Move Over WB - You've had your AFL Fairytale
Thanks, I missed that line.

The Curfew
They don't call the Crows 'fruit loops' for no reason.
-
The Curfew
On a different note, the players have said how much they feel for us supporters in lockdown and missing out on sharing the finals with them. I like to think that being back by 9.00pm (Melb curfew time) shows a bit of empathy for our plight. While unlikely it makes me feel better that they are staying focused.

Guardian Article: Move Over WB - You've had your AFL Fairytale
Not sue either article in this thread says that. Re the history part, rationally we all know that yesterday is no guide to tomorrow. I'm happy to dream for a further10 days and 🤞 there is another fairytale/cinderalla story in the making. Its the editors that create story titles not the authors. Click bait!

Jake Melksham
Harsh commentary here. He had a significant ankle injury a few years ago. Out for a long time. Hasn't been the same since.

The Curfew
I would be surprised if the bulldogs don't do the same thing when they come out of quarantine. I bet that won't be reported as an 'extreme' curfew.'
-
The Curfew
If that is surprising why are they not expessing surprise at the AFL placing the whole Demon and Bulldogs enoturages in separate rooms, with separate catering staff at the Brownlow. Both groups will be away from other attendees. Demons and Bulldogs are/ will be out of quarantine and are more likely to catch something in the community than at the Brownlow. After spending the best part of the last month in quarantine in Vic, Qld, SA and WAx2 I doubt the players would be complaining about their new found freedom. Especially knowing their family, friends and fans are locked up. A cheap 'click bait' headline at mfc expense by Channel 9.

Guardian Article: Move Over WB - You've had your AFL Fairytale
Similar theme to the the Guardian article. another-cinderella-story "The oft-held wisdom in AFL circles is that you have to lose one to win one and use the pain of defeat to inspire the deeds of victory. But when a team has a sense of destiny, that they alone can turn around the fortunes of a sad history, and they harness the power and energy of belief, it can certainly overcome everything else". This centuries premiership drought breakers: Lions, Swans, Geelong, Hawthorn, Bulldogs, Tigers all with first time coaches (except LIons) and first time in GF after long absents. What time is it? Its Demon Time!!🤞

Who presents the Cup if we win?
Where and to whom did Daisy compare her contribution? Do you know how many premiership medals, BnF, AA's and captain stripes Daisy has, in the best comps available to her?. Daisy loves the Dees so much she boldly told Gill to stuff his AFLW if she couldn't play for her beloved Dees. I don't think Daisy will be the one nominated by the club to present the cup but you are seriously undervaluing her achievements and value to mfc. If by some chance she was nominated she would be very worthy of the honour.

Adam Cerra
One or more of: lack of interest/ lack of trade currency/ lack of sal cap. Ess were interested but dropped out when they realised how good their midfield really is and prefer to spend the $ on the players they have. Rich dropped out when they realised how poor their midfield is and decided to use their very juicy draft picks for new talent.

TICKETING: GF vs Bulldogs
Very kind and generous words. Thank you. Delighted to help make your nephew happy. Hope it is special for both of you and the family. And with the karma you are sending my way, maybe I can share the day with my niece at the G next year.

Who presents the Cup if we win?
who-will-present-the-premiership-cup-melbourne The clubs get to suggest to the AFL someone present the cup if we win. It has to be someone already in WA. Fox's ideas. Garry Lyon - club great Shane Woewodin - 2000 Brownlow medallist; played in our last GF. Ken Melville 1953 Bluey winner. played in 1955 and 1956 premierships Adam Yze - played in our last GF Glen Bartlett - immediate past President Kate Roffey - current President On premiership credentials Ken Melville would get the nod. He is 90 and if able I think is the one. Otherwise Garry would be my choice.

CHANGES: GF vs Bulldogs
I reckon May plays. The club said the hamstring is related to his back. This is consistent with May missing a game late in the season for back issues. He missed one week. He now has two weeks to rest up. When Hibberd was dropped post Bulldgos, Bowey came in and has cemented his spot and the team included Hunt. The only changes we've had since were for injuries utilising Smith then Hibberd when Smith went out.. Based on that recent history I think our selection order is Hunt, Smith then Hibberd. Our 'settled' team is with Hunt and if fit I think he will come in for Hibberd. Hunt's speed will be an asset vs the fast wbd mid sized wds. I don't envy selectors. Some worthy players will miss out on a dream to have a chance at a premiership.

CHANGES: GF vs Bulldogs
For those focused on Daniel. Have a look at Duryea's game in rnd 19. He has gone under the radar. Daniel gets noticed by his high disposal count but Duryea did more damage.

GRAND FINAL: Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs
Richardson said it was a possibility, before the PFs. I'm guessing it is the better and the AFL 'preferred' resort. Bulldogs have been travelling etc. Also Bulldogs have another week quarantine whereas we are free today. As I said Bulldogs should go to the resort that Geelong is at. They come out of quarantine today so don't need it any longer. I don't see any point disrupting one of the GF teams ie us. Now that the results are known things may have changed.

GRAND FINAL: Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs
At least the cats could legitimately claim key absentees, (Stewart, Parfitt, Connor), injured players (Henderson, Touhy etc) and no bye. Port had a fully fit list and fully rested. Inexplicable and I suspect for their fans unforgiveable.

GRAND FINAL: Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs
I have a lot of time for Jack Niall but I think this article is bizarre: why-may-should-thank-hocking-if-he-plays-in-the-grand-final . Sure the bye helps May but it helps the whole bulldogs team a lot lot more as they have virtually circumnavigated the country and in quarantine for 3 weeks. The extra week is an enormous advantage to all 23 of them. Not Niall's most balanced article.

GRAND FINAL: Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs
I reckon Petty should play on Schache to stop him blocking Lever as he did Allir Allir at every i50 contest. Just keep Schache (or whoever they use to block) out of the way.

GRAND FINAL: Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs
A few weeks ago Richardson said that if the bulldogs made the GF we might need to move out of the Joondalup resort for them. He mentioned our players were really happy there. At the time I thought the bulldogs should go to the resort where the loser of Dees vs Cats PF had been. It would be a shame if we had to move and be disrupted, even in a small way, what our team was used to.

POSTGAME: PF vs Geelong
I read your post - that was a good 'telling off' as well! I had also invoked his grand daughter to bring him some cheer. Seems to have worked and he came back to us.

Will Nathan Jones get a farewell game?
That is a nice sentiment. But no. Whoever wins it has earnt it. Keep it.
