  1. it’s so so wrong isn’t it. why frikn even bother anymore. Feel like i want to stop following the afl altogether.
  2. If I’m Smith I honestly can’t see the need to join the cats and try to win a 4th flag. If he came to us and we won it he’d be part of demon folklore and afl history. He’d be in a mentoring / leadership role as well and be extending himself in other ways as well. I def wanted him but there’s more time left in the trade period, let’s see what plan b looks like.
  3. Agreed. They named what has been said on here for a while ie We seem to have fallen into being a team of champions , especially in the middle. Let’s hope this can be turned around.
  4. Im happy. This is the type of decision that builds clubs internally. My guess is he's well loved and is an important source of social glue in the trying times of Covid as well as being a great guide and teacher to the younger players. No one expects more than a handful of games from him but I think what he brings is worth the invest. I hope he gets to 300, it would lift the whole club.
  5. keep it coming Dr E....your keeping me sane.
  6. Brilliant update! thanks. Interesting re Brodie smith..fingers crossed.
  7. hmmm ...If he does come then I strongly disagree with this assertion...easily 3 more good years. if he doesn’t come then you’re bang on and have excellent judgement. lol seems we think the same @Superunknown
  8. damn... that’s a bit tragic really. I was pumped about him coming to us. Although i have to say, why Isaac would be looking for another flag w a side like geelong is beyond me. it would be a nothing stat in his career really . If he won one w us it would be huge fr every player involved. Perhaps Geelong is a better covid escape? Plus Geelong with already such an old list? Anyway, despite all the certainty that he’s coming to us ... i do smell a rat here.
  9. hmmm that isn't a good sign is it. He might be staying.
  10. Thanks to all of you that hold this together.. and try to stop us tearing each other apart lol. With covid it’s been an especially important source of distraction. gratitude.
  11. a year on he’s not quite in the same bargaining position.
  12. good news ...sorry to be slow but what does IPA mean?
  13. Not on his own...no. But something just feels wrong looking inside the coaches box doesnt it?
  14. Jesus I hate Geelong. They got their hyper priveleged nose out of joint because Viney stayed with us. Cry me a frikn river. Unimaginable that a player , having had time to think, would choose to stick with his club rather than go to them. It must be they got used FMD. Hope Viney cuts them a new one next time we play.
  15. Given how we played in the first half that day it still really irks me. Especially when the doggies had the same deal for their final game in Cairns , complained and got it changed. Apparantly they were " outraged". Sunk our season . So yes I fully agree...splurging on this piece of ridiculousnessis os so much salt in the wounds.
  16. yep agreed. However I can’t see Brown coming out publically until we think we have a genuine taker fr Tmac. We can’t afford to have both of them. Brown would limit his options if he chooses us and we then pull back.
  17. Something has gone wrong there clearly. Sounds like its more on the MCC than the MFC. I couldnt help but think though if your relative needed to be persuaded and was so easily offended in these crazy Covid times then maybe they weren't a keeper anyway? I put heaps of work into a friend of mine getting a membership in 2018 and despite the enormous buzz of that year he didnt renew citing this reason or that.
  18. It would have been a big call to break contract at a time like this. Everything is so up in the air re Covid and the timing of pre season etc etc So his position is even more critical than normal . I imagine they might have said we need a year to replace you. Doesn’t guarantee he would stay of course but I’m stoked he did.... if this is true
  19. i honestly think we’re the most exposed as , of all the clubs you mentioned, we have no home base.
  20. a radical thought. But given the perilous financial/ ecological times i worry now about our survival in the next few years.
  21. dont even think that...you'll be wishing some rare career threatening foot or knee injury on him.
  22. Im not holding any inside info but I believe it was his knee. I just find it hard to believe that suddenly they're looking to turf him out for a second rounder unless there is some serious issues. We'd be stoked to get a second rounder for Tmac would we not? We really do need to do due diligence here.
  23. I love the idea. Get him in.
