Magical morning at Gosch's Paddock

Thanks for the info six. I've always wanted a monopod mounted lens so that people would mistake me for a pro -
Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>

Regardless of what Hird has done in the passed the AFL will find a way to punish him. He brings a guy with a very shady passed into the club and then gives him carte blanche to jab the players with untested supplements, and goes on to brag about its success. If the tanking investigation has taught us anything it's that you don't get in trouble to the letter of the law, you get in trouble according to the court of public opinion and the damage it does to the AFL brand. Andy D will make sure Hird goes down. -

Nice! I have a 7d at home and a couple of 5d's (mk 2 & 3) I use for work (video stuff). Looking at getting a long lens for still stuff as all my lenses are short and fast. On a crop sensor do you find yourself using the length beyond the canons 300mm? I'd like to do more sports and wildlife stuff on my 7d. -

I was really looking forward to watching a competitive game while tucking into my delicious pigs brain and bark extract, but this is looking like it's over. Waka, waka, waka! (Sorry) -

Nice work six. What are you shooting on and what lens you using for those? Looks great. -
When you watch the video (which is great!) you can see the players are genuinely shocked at what happened when they turned up this morning. They are almost a bit like 'is that for us?' If nothing else it was nice to see them as people and see that they realized we cared. It's also fantastic to see the players sign autographs and talk to the kids. When those kids grow up they'll remember that the way I remember getting autographs from Garry Lyon, Jimmy and the Ox, and they'll realize just how integral supporters are to the culture of a club. I was really proud to be a Demon watching what happened this morning.

The more I learn about this investigation the more I'm reminded of the lovely gentlemen in a corporate box who screamed out at 3/4 time on Saturday night 'Crush them Bombers, wipe these weak pricks out of the league'. The worm is turning. I look forward to the mass player exodus they've brought on themselves. -
The crucial thing that he needs to get better at is to not wear his heart on his sleeve as much post game. When he speaks with less emotion he's easier to understand and looks much more like a leader. I really hope Craig is helping him with this. The more care he shows for the players and the club the more he endears himself to the public and makes it harder for the media to ostracise him.

http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/hird-should-consider-standing-down-demetriou-20130412-2hpff.html Demetrriou knows a lot more than we do, and he knows they are screwed. He basically sounds like he wants to get the investigation over so they can figure out how to punish them. This is really ugly now. -
Up next, Alf explains the theory of gravity... 'It's pretty much just trapping me here on this god forsaken planet'

Jimmy T will be a player but I wonder why he keeps getting a game. He seems to put too much pressure on himself and gets very lost. I wonder is he's in because dropping him would be worse for his confidence. I will say this. There are probably 10 blokes in our side that wouldn't get picked up by any AFL club if we let go off them. Pretty frightening thought.

Listening to Bombers supporters calling into SEN is amazing. They are delusional about what this means for them. They've failed to learn what we learnt the hard way with the tanking investigation - It's not what others do or did before you, it's what you get caught doing and how the AFL can use you as an example while protecting the leagues brand. They are in a world of trouble. The league can only protect them so much. There are legal implications that go far beyond the sport. -

It's looking a lot like the weekend was the most rewarding 148 point loss we've ever had. -
Who lets Jack Watts face the media? Gee the club sends out some mixed messages. Not good enough during the game but fronting up to the media 3 days later? I'm so bloody confused half the time about the decisions regarding players. Let Clark and Jones speak. Older heads with less pressure on them, and some runs on the board. Jacks not even in the 9 person leadership group (which ironically is half the side).

Which is exactly why he is gone. He's been MIA since '186'. He didn't represent the club well because he knew that he'd lost too much respect amongst the playing group. We couldn't take advantage of his strengths (media) and so all that happened was the focuses shifted to his weaknesses (managing footy dept., sponsor debacles). Regardless of how you feel Satyriconhome I hope you can make it to training on Friday morning. Should be fun. Go Dees!

What should be the initial priorities of the new CEO?
The heart beats true replied to Soidee's topic in Melbourne Demons
1. Get new blazers. Country Road has a nice padded elbow number that pairs well with a red sweater (for branding). 2. More brass instruments to play the song before the game. The Bugler looks lonely. 3. Add some more crap to the logo. Surely we can get a picture of the MCG, Norm Smith and Barass in there. -
David Schwarz for MFC President? [MERGED]

I think Ox has some bridges to build at the club first, by his own admission. I'd love to see him on the board though so that we have more footy people involved that can look the players in the eye. My money is on Healy or Spargo.
