  1. It’s a bit like winning a long distance race because you ran the furthest, even though it took you 5 days - while the Ethiopian bloke did a kilometre less, but in 90 minutes.
  2. He’s left such a lasting legacy on the visual culture of this city. I hope some day he gets his proper credit. He was insanely talented.
  3. I really hope the folks at Haymes Paint don’t have a pay per click sponsorship arrangement, as I plan to watch that video 10,000 times between now and next March.
  4. A Swans mad friend of mine told me he loved that we outscored them 16 goals to 1, because in the 2016 GF they got 16 frees to 1 in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Trying to verify this. Anyone know if that’s right? No wonder the Swans were furious that day.
  5. That was the goal for me. If Clarry is slotting that through, after all the knocks on his goal kicking, you had to think it was our day.
  6. It says a lot about Tex that this isn’t even close to the comment he’ll regret the most in his career. History will not be kind to him.
  7. Interesting fact for those of you interested in the Weg Posters. Weg passed away in 2008, so the artwork in this years poster is actually unused art made for the losing 1958 grand final against Collingwood. The 1955 flag is my favourite of his Demon artworks. He looks like every half drunk middle aged bloke in a footy jumper celebrating a win. Brilliant.
  8. I’m just enjoying the bloke who is captain now. The boys have said ‘stay in the moment’ all year. It’s been 36 hours since we won the flag. I’ll worry about the future when the present isn’t so insanely rewarding.
  9. I’m wrapped for you mate! If I ever feel like I’m getting too fixated on the club I come to Demonland, and if often helps me realise that I’m not alone. The 2 weeks leading into the game took a toll on me too, and then to see the boys play so well was the greatest feeling. Enjoy it. You earned it.
  10. Off the top of my head: Fritta Fritta Brown Brayshaw Trac Sparrow Oliver How’d I do?
  11. I’m only 43 Dazzle, so I don’t want to peak too early, but I do feel very much like a big part of my journey as a football fan is fulfilled. I don’t think any other premiership could feel as special as that was. Over 3 goals down with 10 to play in the third, 57 years of club heartache, and the boys just want absolutely berserk. We’ll never see that again. It was the privilege of my football watching life to see it happen at all. The last minute of the 3rd quarter is impossible to describe. It was a force of nature. So it wasn’t at the MCG and I couldn’t go? That’s not the end of the world. Life has taught me to focus on what you do have, not what you don’t - which is why I’ll be watching the replay AGAIN all day and doing [censored] all work.
  12. When Clayton kicked that goal he pointed to every Dees supporter and said ‘We got this’. It was the moment. If you watch the replay in slow mo after the goal Tommy Sparrow is running in behind Clarry yelling ‘ffffuuuuuuuccccckkkkiiiing hhhhheeellllllllllll’. Its amazing. 🤣
  13. Those are fantastic. We were so terrifyingly good in that minute. It brought tears to me eyes all over again. I still can’t believe it!
  14. It’s the best minute in our clubs history for at least 60 years, and possibly ever. I’m going to watch it whenever I need to believe that the world is still a magical place. When Clarry kicked his goal I like to think he pointed right at me and told me to calm the [censored] down. He’s got this.
  15. That bloke in the crowd clutching his neck like he’s going through the most stressful time in his life is exactly how I felt. It was brilliant, and terrifying, and way too much to comprehend. He is the mascot of every Melbourne supporter.
  16. Wtf Channel 7, they cut Tom Sparrows goal out of the replay! 🤬
  17. Angus Brayshaw’s third quarter gets bettter every time I watch it.
  18. BT in the third quarter: ‘I reckon the Demons need 2 of the next 3 goals’. The Demons: ‘How about 16 of the next 17?’
  19. How was that not a mark to Steven May right before half time? 🤬
  20. Jimmy Stynes has a great redemption story - an international athlete learning a new game that took him from Buckenara in the Prelim, to the Brownlow. Max’s redemption story starts in a way that’s a bit more relatable to the average person. 🤢🤣
  21. He kicked 4 of our first 7 goals when the game was on the line. He was incredible.
  22. That Gus has sacrificed so much over the last 2 seasons for the sake of the team, and then plays his best individual game of the year in the Grand Final is such a great reward for him.
  23. I’m watching the replay. The last minute of the 3rd quarter is as close to absolute pandemonium as you’ll ever see on a football field. It was literally ridiculous. I’m pretty sure i’ll never see anything like that again. I’m so glad I got to see us play like that in my lifetime. This is such a good feeling.
  24. I just watched the 2nd quarter. The bulldogs are a team of fighters, but they really have a make do backline and only Naughton forward of the ball. Their midfield is their strength. Their game plan reminds me of under 12’s, and that second quarter proved it. Wait for the best player to get forward of the ball, and then kick it to him. Bont is a star, but they ask a massive amount of him. If he’s not dominating they look a 5-8 team. I admire their endeavour though. They are a pretty honest team in terms of effort.
