COVID & AFL 2021
Unfortunately we have too many selfish people here 'hardtack'... Their freedom is so important they think it's ok to infect others. This is not what I would call a civil society or good culture.

I don't think this one has been hijacked, I think more orchestrated.

COVID & AFL 2021
I think they do get infiltrated by extreme views and violence is often lurking. We've seen it in recent times with BLM and Climate Change. Sorry, I don't mean to water down what I agree is now a very serious situation. ...but I think, and I hate this labelling, but left and right often fail to see the extremist behaviour within their own ranks.

COVID & AFL 2021
This unfortunately is the case with all protests/movements including this one, BLM, climate change etc. There is always someone with an agenda. The 'Columbo' technique is usually at work, "just one more thing"...there's always something else lurking beneath the shadows. It's why I never join...I have my opinions and don't like having them distorted. Protesters are pretty much always being manipulated.

...but did we win???? That's the important bit.

2019 Draft Re-Ranked
Given this was actually the 2019 draft. ...in the 2020 draft Bowey would probably be re ranked in the top 5 and could be argued the new number 1 after his 7 games.

COVID & AFL 2021
Your other points appear to be correct but I'm not sure what you think is the relevance to whatever point you are trying to make. I actually don't understand your argument. Our record against the rest of the country is not good at all, I agree. ...why that is I really don't know. It has nothing to do with being in lockdown, being locked out of other stares or having a curfew. Is it that we've been less compliant? Demonstrations seem to show that may be the case. We certainly had poor management of quarantine early in the piece. Is our tracing system not as good. Is it just bad luck... I mean this outbreak kicked off with Sydney side removalists from memory wandering around and spreading, plus some others coming on down as they pleased. This is not true, all states have had issues with Quarantine. ...and truthfully (fact as you like), quarantine is a federal responsibility. The bloke who doesn't hold a hose mate was happy to pass the buck on this one as well. He actually wanted home quarantine...the states pushed for something harder, not perfect by any means but where are all our quarantine facilities? sold off...this has been coming for a while now but governments of both kinds have dropped the ball and here we are. I can just imagine how home quarantining would have worked...

I'm not a Dan man & I don't particularly like the man who reckons he doesn't hold the hose & it's not a race... ...but, what's the question you posed? You prattled off a whole heap of stuff you assert as facts. There were so many that just maybe some where facts...who knows.

- Manning the Mark Rule Change
Yep, agree... I think the umpires varied interpretation a bit through the season which at times limited the positive effect of the change. ...but it's a keeper for sure.- Manning the Mark Rule Change
Agree with this... I would add that if a player shapes to handball then it's play on. I don't like the idea of trying to milk a 50. In general I like the rule but the umps did relax their interpretation as the year went on.- MFC GF Celebration Coming in December
I find it hard to believe that he would recover his cost on this. I don't see how he will draw the numbers required to break even let alone make a profit. Particularly with the club running a big event at the 'G'. I hope the players are being advised properly and have their fees up front.- Re sign Choco too
PJ...probably the most profound in recent times. Norm Smith had a reasonable impact. ...back to recent times Todd Viney, Roos, Goodwin, Burgess. It's not just one thing or one person but PJ got the ball rolling.- The comeback of draft smokies?
I think Jake Bowey, if not a smokey was probably the steal of the draft. He's been the best performed player from that draft to date. Having AA teammates around hasn't hurt. I would think if it wasn't for COVID he would have gone a lot higher in the draft and we would have missed out on him. Another one of these would be good.- Welcome to Demonland: Luke Dunstan
Not that much faith...- The Petracca v McCartin debate reprised
Can you imagine a midfield with Trac & Clarry in it???- rpfc's Schadenfreude Corner
Ok, so what is Wells record of recruiting (not father son picks) good to great players in this pick range (2nd & 3rd rounders)? Is his recruiting mastery another of those AFL myths? Seems the Cats have had a big leg up from Father/Son and trading along with some good first rounders early days. Having a look through 'rpfc' original post, over the last 10 years Stewart was a great get...Kelly. Very dangerous indeed, an AA defender and a mid who's no longer there. So one player.- Dwayne's First Picked 18
Interesting...Langdon runs harder than any wingman in the game. Forward and back, so I wouldn't consider him just forward running. One I would take is Jack Macrae on a wing...he really is a natural wingman playing more as a mid now.- Nuggets' Music Videos
- Hawks on the Slide: How Mitchell is making life hard for himself
They have a lot of fair-weather supporters, no doubt about that. Couple that with a less than favourable (as in time spots) fixture and see how you go then Jeff.- Hawks on the Slide: How Mitchell is making life hard for himself
Seems like they wanted to much in a market that didn't have a lot to give. If they were smart they would have realised this and not tried to trade contracted players, who in reality didn't want to go. Then they wouldn't have had to deal with the pain and heartache of disaffected players & fans. ...and if they really wanted to move someone on they could have at least set a fair price and or let the player explore his options, not try and railroad them interstate. ...and also to expect a 30yo with a bad back has any kind of currency, particularly first round currency... They're dreaming.- AFL Trade Period
From what I've seen of him I don't rate him at all. I reckon he was a liability in their forward half and not much use in the ruck. ...but I haven't seen a lot of him.- Dwayne's First Picked 18
He's (Kelly) certainly not worth the coin that was on offer. ...and full commitment wasn't on offer in their finals performance again. Salem is a beauty and still very underrated, his GF performance would have opened some eyes. ...maybe not Mathew Lloyd who just see the baby face (looks can be deceiving) and misses the uncompromising tough, contested work he does. Jack Macrae found that out the hard way pretty early in the first Q. I'm going with the player that stands up when it's on the line...he doesn't let you down.- Dwayne's First Picked 18
