Interim report 'young dee', this might be the never ending story.

You've always got to look at offers, who knows someone may make the lifetime Alan Bond deal. I think we have only a few non tradeables now if we are fair dinkum but of course they are all subject to the Alan Bond clause. I believe Frawley, Garland, Jones, and Grimes (heart and soul player) are the ones we don't trade. Hogan of course is in this list the others are all fair game. If Trengove was playing like his first season and half I would put him in this bunch, I think he is another heart and soul player but I just don't know where he sits at the moment. If Boyd is as good as they say then it would want to be something good to give him up. Of course every year there is some hype on the number one.

We take Boyd and look to trade others.

The Split - AFL Endorsed Ticket or The Stockdale Ticket

Excellant work, now we have the marketing and branding moving along nicely. Lets fix these issues and we're on the way. We don't need Stockdale for this. -
Thanks for the summation; I had a look at a replay of Sheed the other day in the game against Vic country and he certainly accumulated a lot of the ball, has this sort of loping style of moving but very effective. I thought Crouch was good in the clearances when he was in there, he had a really good feel for it and a strong attack on the footy. The little I've seen of Aish, he definitely uses it well. Interesting comment on the SANFL, maybe it's because of the old SA chip and run style. Toumpas definitely does this, I can't remember him kicking long in a game yet and Craig's coaching style encourages it. It's one of the reasons I don't rate Williams as highly as others do, I always thought there was something to Alan Scotts comments.

Not surprising. It's going to be a tough few years ahead now. -

I think in an ideal world the board should face the members but this hasn't happened for quite some time now. Unfortunately the factions within the club have brought it to it's knees so I'm happy to let things get on track for the first time in such a long time. Then we can look at the governance and democracy issues. -

I get your point here 'Choko' but one of their big planks is letting the members have their say. I didn't see anything about letting the members have their say but only so long as you agree with us. -
I think he has the time at Casey 'Sat' and is able to drift and read the play, his intensity at AFL is not there. Whether he can learn this I guess we will start to find out in the next few weeks. Davis has been around for a while now so I fear if he doesn't get a chance this year he may not be around next, not sure if you've heard anything on this but then a lot will depend on the new coach I guess. It wouldn't hurt for Taggert to get a taste but let's wait and see how his form holds up.

Typical of a politician, I had a look at his website and he is not canvassing any opinions from Melbourne members and is only telling us his BS line. He is just looking for support. -
On this basis Pedersen is very lucky to hold his place. Just ambles around the back line with no urgency or concern for his immediate opponent and any teammate who may need assistance. ...but you are probably right with the letting things settle and no revolving door policy. However there will or at least should be a few on notice this week I would think.
-
You're probably on the money here 'Sat', but I think with the year we've had bringing some of these kids in would create a bit of interest in the game, however in Barry's case in particular it may well be unfair on the kid and the expectation too high. I would like to see Davis get his shot at it though, I think he has been a good player at Casey and deserves a run. I wouldn't see it as gifting him a game and think he would bring more than Pedersen who has no intensity in his game at AFL level. On a purely selfish note I would like to see Taggert, I want to see what he's got at the next level. He has the size and skills required to make it at the next level. I wouldn't be too hard on posters calling for these changes, it hasn't been a good year and we all need something going into next year, it's just the club may well have it right in this case by holding firm by their development decisions.

It's not certain that they will but the moves from the Hird camp makes it look very likely. Who is looking to be discredited now...Robinson, I don't think so.
-
Pretty sure this will happen I would like to see him working in defence and not just jogging around then making a token effort. He's been given another chance and I think he doesn't deserve it but let him sink himself. It's looking like it. I would be more excited about the game if we had of played Taggert, Davis and Tynan. Let's not play the same heads that have let us down.
-
How about we get one coaching appointment right, until we can do that there is no point trying to predict a follow up coach.
-
I think Peders is a good VFL level player but lets see, give him a run at it and let him sink or swim. Cameron would sink him but I don't think we're that stupid...are we?
-
How many games have you seen him play? have you seen him play out side of the carnival games? If so can you give us a run down on why you see him as a pure footballer and what he would bring to the club.

I'm not as convinced by Sheed as others, I just had a look at a bit of the game v Vic metro where he was BOG. There was something that was in the back of my mind on this game and watching again it was in the centre bounces he tended to run past the ball a lot and was not reading the ruck at all. Now as I say that's just a quick look and it's one game, I also can't say I can back it up with years of experience watching this level and where the player should be at in this stage in his career. He may be what we need but it would take more than watching a game or two or reading the mock drafts to know that. I would think our recruiters (the ones we have now) would have a reasonable handle on him after seeing a lot of footy but I really like the idea of having some really experienced watchers who understand footy. I noticed during the championships the Geelong crew included Bill McMaster, now in his 80's still involved. That type of experience and involvement is invaluable. Imagine if we had someone like a Swooper Northey watching junior footy, giving an opinion and being listened too. A good footballer is a good footballer no matter when the play or played the game. http://www.theage.com.au/news/rfnews/mcmaster-of-his-trade/2009/11/24/1258824712384.html

I think that just might lock it in 'Sat'. Many more uncompetitive, uninteresting games and it's goodbye to Queens Birthday no matter what other side show elements you want to add.
