That one is getting close to the line 'binman', agree with you there. On another point but following on the reviews it seems there are a group of players at Casey struggling to meet the expectations of the FD.
-
I just don't see them as scathing, perhaps that says more about the way I look at things. So long as it's about performance I don't have a problem, if he started calling some players spuds then I would.
-
I think it is different 'nut', for one most of us don't get the chance to watch Casey play with the exception of the odd TV game which seems to be one a year. It's good to at least get a feel for how the players are going. I really value these reports and it's the only thing I look forward to on the website each week, the rest is all fluff & puff pieces which don't interest me in the slightest. We pretty much all watch the AFL game and can draw our own conclusions.

So he's (Petracca) not a very good kick then?
-
Makes sense, sorry 'mono'.
-
He's worked under a coach in absence, Sheedy and an untried coach in Cameron. Just doesn't have the runs on the board. He might have been treated poorly by the club but it doesn't mean we pay him back by handing him the keys.
-
No he's not unfortunately. He is very inexperienced and working in a club with an average to poor culture having come from similar.
-
I think if you read between the lines that he is not a realistic option, just a name brought up. I would be very surprised if there was not a short list already and that might even be a short list of one. ...and I know we've had the discussion before but I don't think the MFC can afford to take the risk of appointing someone who doesn't have a good senior playing record at a minimum.

Players to target at the end of the year
rjay replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
There are some I wouldn't touch for example Watson at Carlton who has only one asset a long kick and little football smarts or ability, or Grimes who no one can doubt his endeavour but we don't need an injury prone defender who can't kick. Lisle, a good VFL level player. Ottens has a ? because of injury, same with Rohan and there are some others I don't know enough about. Membrey seems to be an in betweener. I think we should look at someone like Sinclair at WC. -
One of the many things we did, we just forgot to win games of footy and that's the only real tangible thing that will increase membership.
-
...and there's no guarantee we will get band one compo.
-
...or like Dom Tyson, tackled as soon as he got the ball and given against him for holding the ball. Your spot on 'P-man', the whole thing is a mess.
-
I don't think he would do that but I've thought all along that there was a reason for playing Frawley forward and letting the defence develop without him. I don't think it was purely the need of another tall forward but have thought Roos was convinced Frawley was going or near enough to going to build a defence without him.

I was disappointed by the Ox and that memory still lingers. He did come in but still allowed himself to be pushed around, he just seemed like a big bear being taunted by his handlers. Sounds stupid I know but I really wish he had of landed a few that day. I wouldn't have minded a 1990 style all in to be truthful.
-
Agree they were the far better side. Best team that year and on the day. The only thing that gets to me about that game is that we were weak in responding. I know in our current politically correct football environment (which I basically agree with by the way) this wouldn't be tolerated but we needed someone in there throwing a few back and not just lame pushing and shoving. Someone really needed to stand up and no one did.

Are they back in the draft this year? -
There seems to be a lot of argument as to whether NikNat is any good and worth his new wage increase.
-
It's a problem
-
Totally agree with you on this, as for the expansion moves I'm still on the bench but am concerned about how they have been implemented. It seems the bottom teams have had to take the hit.
-
Priority Pick anyone??? as I duck for cover.
-
Probably right but he doesn't deserve one at the moment.

Sylvia will be lucky to get a game against us.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-06-29/nascar-losing-sponsors-and-money-despite-loyal-supporter-base/5556126 Just thought I would post the link. I was reading this before, although not the slightest bit interested in NASCAR I noticed many parallels to the way the AFL are running footy or some say ruining footy. Fans priced out of games, constant rule changes, trying to appeal to non traditional markets and disenfranchising their constituent market etc... The wash up is that they are losing fans, sponsors and TV coverage. I thought it might be of interest to some on Demonland.
-
Might be paid for interference, the problem for me is that all these interpretations are coming into the game and they're not actual rules.
-
Interesting, so those players trying to mark are really trying to spoil.
