  1. Unfortunately it is not the player with the ball who has control of this situation. It is his teammates running to make position, if they work hard the play unfolds and we move the ball on quickly.
  2. If he sticks to his natural game he will stay at Casey. Trouble is the way the game is, if you play on you have no one to kick to, everyone is in the back half of the ground unless it's a quick transition. As Miller says, there are times he needs to be more composed and let the play unfold. Doesn't mean he has to stop and wait every time.
  3. Not sure if you are being serious 'nut', but Patrick wasn't. It was a bit of a running joke to do with an article he wrote, goose of the week etc...
  4. I'm pretty sure it is being organised as we speak over at Pieland.
  5. No, you would only trade one pick for the 2 of them. There is no way for both picks and even then you would need to have a serious think about it. I would definitely go to the draft with one pick though.
  6. I know his form hasn't been great but I would like Mitchell with Rohan. Roos & Stone would know the upside but his height, pace and long kick could be a real value for us on a wing or off half back.
  7. I've said on a number of occasions that Robbo is the 'Molly Meldrum' of football, only without the intelligence.
  8. That's an interesting idea...
  9. Agree with this. The only problem is I think we will then have a surplus of one paced mids. We need to change it up but your logic here is on the money.

    Round 16

He wasn't being chocked when he gouged Lake in the first place. Petrie deserves a couple in my opinion.
  11. Best get Brett Allison to do the reports then.
  12. Agree and I would be very surprised if we weren't pushing for it already 'Redleg'. Gillon seemed open to the idea last year.
  13. You are spot on 'Grimes', it's happening a lot more. It's always interesting to see who Roos sends Cross too when available. See McAffer went to Hill last week as well.
  14. Very smart move 'Machsy' and I'd forgotten about May's Campbell jaw.
  15. He has had a big part to play in where this current list is at. Norm really doesn't and Checker, well we can give him a break on this one. The Norm Smith sacking was a huge mistake and it is unfortunately brought up as the galvanising point of where the club went wrong. Good clubs move on, everyone and all clubs make mistakes. We need to make more good decisions than bad and move forward. I agree with a lot you have to say. We couldn't expect a huge lift with the current list and we still have a long way to go. Having a go at the players won't solve anything but unfortunately for some there will be a few more gone at the end of the year, part of the football cycle. It's easy to pot players on a site like this but it's good to remember that they are giving it their best and it is their livelihood & dreams we are talking about. Some won't make it, some just aren't up to scratch. I guess that's the way it is. Personally I don't think it's good to be calling players duds, spuds or whatever but do think it's part of a good discussion on football to talk about a players strengths & weaknesses. Each to there own I guess.
  16. I think this is a pretty good summation 'George' and how I would see it.
  17. Not sure where to put this one but here is as good as any. I was really impressed with Steele Sidebottom's leadership in the GC game the other day. When Grundy was in a contest that ended up with him into the fence, maybe with a bit of undue force maybe just part of the contest (can't remember the GC player might have been May). Grundy got up and made a run at the GC player to remonstrate but before he got there Sidebottom ran in and bumped him away (good hip & shoulder down the middle) then calmed him down. It could have got ugly and cost him weeks or at a minimum a free kick. Now that's what I call onfield leadership.
  18. Someone did say that...from what I hear he does want to come home. Whether that means he wants to play at Melbourne I don't know.
  19. Coming off a broken leg, probably won't see him at his best until next season. Having said that he seems to be the only one pushing up for a spot at the moment.
  20. Could be a bit like Grundy 'Machsy' and Grundy's form was well ahead of Wright. He fell out to the low teens where Collingwood picked him up.
  21. He's a very average set shot for goal 'BB'.
  22. Exactly what happened, prior to that he just had him in a head lock. http://www.afl.com.au/video/2014-07-04/wrestlemania-under-the-roof Watch around the 23 second mark, Lake has Petrie in a bit of a head lock but it is not across his throat, his left hand is on the ground then Petrie goes for Lake's eyes. Lake then loses the plot and his left hand grabs Petrie's throat. Petrie is has a lot of media mates and I reckon he has got off pretty easily here.
  23. Not wanting to get into your argument with 'BB' 'Axis' but I agree that it is about balance. We had an imbalance in the list and it's obvious that it will take more than the last draft to address it. There seems to be a few chances to pick up good players later in the first round or beyond this draft but that's just from an outsiders view. I'm sure the club will be across it and make the right decision come the time. We have to have quality young kids coming in every year or we set ourselves up for failure down the track, if we can get them later in the first round all the better. A lot will depend on what pick or picks we have.
  24. I'm not sure we will finish above them but yes I would expect they would pick him.
  25. Can't see Brisbane or St Kilda not taking a tall.
