  1. Our forward line is asbymal.. Be lucky to score 5 goals today
  2. So had Petterd.....and Sylvia....and Green.....and Davey....
  3. Key word there 'Could' We see that word thrown around every year. I am waiting to see the word 'Is'.
  4. Greens 250th, champion. Hope he can push on another season.
  5. http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/we-will-go-after-cloke-sheedy-20120726-22teo.html looks like GWS cant make up their mind
  6. Doubt they could get the deal done Maybe if Dangerfield were still available for a trade but he aint.
  7. I doubt Brock will be a moneyball player. His manager knows he is in form and will try to make any club pay overs for him now. Carlton would something similair in return to what they paid for him, so our pick 13
  8. I would be happy to get Cloke and one of Boak/Caddy/McClean. Maybe a Toumpas, Garlett and Viney. That would be sweet. All these articles about how we plan on being active though is scary as I would be sad to see a Gysberts or Blease get traded or lose too many draft picks on B grade players. I don't want to end up a team of brutes with no skill. That would be depressing to watch.
  9. We can pass on our draft picks and delist Grimes, Trenners and Frawley to make space on the list.
  10. If we trade away picks 3 4 13 for Brock, Caddy and Boak, and then we draft Viney I will have a seizure. Quick fix will get us half-way up the ladder and thats it. We need to learn to draft and develop our own stars. I am strongly against going for any existing B grade mids. Sadly I think the club wouldn't agree with me
  11. AFL will have our back on this one, pretty sure some special consideration or something can be applied for and put in place to A. Ensure that he isn't de-listed and has a future in the AFL and B. If the worst outcome does happen, we wont be caught out by it and will not be at a dis-advantage. And if that outcome isn't good, it would still mean that there is still a possible future beyond him serving time. It would almost be a good idea for the AFL to create a new list called a 'Consideration list' or something which players can apply to be on. Few rules around it could include that they are not allowed to play any senior games while on the list to keep things fair for other teams and to stop it being abused. I dont think any AFL team would oppose an idea like that.
  12. I do not get the obsession everyone has with drafting B grade mids that work hard. We already have a pile of them with an almost non-existent forward line
  13. So what is our A forward line? Clark? who else? Jurrah I wouldn't include as one injury and his out for the season + off field issues. Watts I wouldn't include as his now a backman. Howe runs around in the mid-field now to bolster it. Basing our whole forward structure on 1 player is foolish. Look at what happens when he hurts himself. Your constantly crying for mids though your yet to even give one example of an A grade mid that we can realisticly acquire with coin this trade period. 1.1 million a season for a mid, you would expect to get an Ablett, Judd or Pendlebury. I honestly do not see them as being feasible. I can see a stack of B grade ones being feasible like Mclean, Caddy and Boak, but we do not need more B graders. If we don't learn to draft and develop our own players then what sort of future do we have? and this is a mid-fielders draft. If it was a draft packed with contested marking forwards I am sure we would be going about this differently.
  14. You have much more patience then i do rpfc....cudos
  15. Suggest some A grade mids we can acquire? I really cant think of any. I can think of another dozen B grade hard working mids, but seriously, we already got enough of those. More won't change a thing. Its either A grade mids or nothing for me. 4 Goals from 35 inside 50s last week.....stats say it all
  16. Please no more B grade mids who are hard working.
  17. These Viney threads seriously just go in circles
  18. What stars can we trade for? There are no feasible ones. We need to learn and develop these ourselves for any hope in the future. I will have an absolute fit if we trade out our picks in a superdraft for more B grade mids who work hard.
  19. If Neeld goes and trades our draft picks away in a super draft to get some B grade mids that work hard I will have an absolute fit. It would be a repeat of the decade that followed 2001. We need to learn to draft and develop our own stars. Not a quick fix to bump us half way up the ladder.
  20. http://www.melbourne...x?newsid=142524 maybe one of those small forwards could play a 200cm forward like what Rivers is trying to play. This says it all, we need some better targets. They will make our current and our new drafted mids look better.
  21. Money was a secondary factor was the point though. The primary factor is satisfying the trade, which freo couldn't. Teams like to keep players happy, but they don't have to.
  22. I can see where you are going but honestly the club would've considered all of this. Moloney, Davey, Green are all on pretty big contracts to which are going to end soon. If we can get good A grade players without having to give up priceless draft picks then I say go for it. Salary cap will just keep growing over time anyway. By the end of the contract the % of his salary to the salary cap will be alot lower then it is the first year. Especially if they front load.
