No not guaranteed but they get Ball, Krakeour and Mcaffer (spelling?) and Keefe back. They lost Wellingham and gained Young which I believe is an upgrade. And if Brodie Grundy is as good as they say he is then there rucks which I thought was going to be a problem is covered. They lost Dawes and replaced with Lynch which I think is a loss but Lynch should be able to fill the foward/ruck roll they want. I think there season will hinge on Jolly staying fit/Grundy coming on and Lynch rucking and kicking a few goals. Also I liked the look of young Paine was it who replaced Dawes late in the year, could be one to watch. Edit: I see under my avatar that I have "0" warning posts, is sticking op for the pies like this a worth a warning post lol

I like this and dad and I try all the time, I find it easier to group teams. For me, Hawthorn, West Coast, Collingwood and Sydney are above the rest in no particular order, These teams will make finals unless there is a disaster. Then Adelaide Geelong Fremantle Essendon. These four should make finals but could miss out Then Carlton, North Melbourne, Richmond behind them. These teams shouldnt make finals but its possible. Then Melbourne St Kilda Brisbane. Not far off the pack above, if these teams can have an outstanding year finals is a slight possibility but probably not realistic. And GWS Gold Coast Port Adelaide and Bulldogs holding the ladder up. So... 1. West Coast 2. Hawthorn 3. Sydney 4. Collingwood 5. Adelaide 6. Geelong 7. Essendon 8. Fremantle 9. North Melbourne 10. Carlton 11. Richmond 12. Melbourne 13. Brisbane 14. St Kilda 15. Gold Coast 16. Western Bulldogs 17. Port Adelaide 18. GWS The bottom and top teams in each group could change IMO for example Melbourne could have a great year, not alot of key injuries and win a few close ones and jump up a group but I cant see us jumping up 2 groups. Or Fremantle could be desimated by injury and slide down a group.

Someone post a picture of Isla Fisher can't figure it out of my phone

Yes it has to be money or go home, but the fact is we need one soon. Who on our list looks like they may become a gun, I mean brownlow form elite.... I think we need to buy one, or bring one home
-
If everyone seems happy with our fowards ad fairly happy with our backs and think its our midfield thats the problem (myself included) then how do we fix it? Do we draft young gun mids and wait 6 years for them to peak? I dont think so that would leave our more middle age fowards and backs too old. So what if we target a gun midfielder either our of contract or free agent. Who would we be after? or what type of player?

^^^ are they drunk?

A personal best season tally of 30 for a full time foward is far too low, would love to see that up around 50-60. But I think Dawes brings alot more than just goals, his presence alone, his attack on the contest in the air, and his second efforts for a bloke his size all add up to a pretty valuable member of our foward line. My dad follows Collingwood so when we talk footy its Melbourne or Collingwood so I talk a bit about the pies. Dawes will be great for us, I think he should be played at CHF and have Clark deep

COMPETITION - $20 - Pick the MFC 22 Round 1 2013
Josh replied to demon-4-life's topic in Melbourne Demons
I have read that Blease isn't fit enough as is let alone playing wing and HFF, there goes your chance at $20 Also bit heavy down back? -
yeah yeah get all those out of the way first i suppose...

Who or what are we most looking foward to next year? I cant wait for Viney and Dawes and all our new recruits to show there skills I think we will be improvers for sure. But there are 2 players I will keep a very close eye on... Watts - This could be his year, as a floating half back or attacking wing man I really hope he can explode and turn games on his own. Gawn - Can the big fella break into the seniors and claim the No. 1 ruck role for good?
-
Im catching what your throwing, Im picking up what your putting down I have never seen a young player drafted that goes so hard, and is so competitive... It will be a joy to watch

Is that enough in this era of footy? There are "lazy" players with elite skills, there are "poor" skilled players with incredible desire to win... to me you need both to be truly elite. I say "lazy" and "poor" only in comparasion to the top talent in the AFL, of course compared to anyone who isnt in the hightest grade of there particular sport its no contest Having said that I have never been as excited for a new draftee than Viney, maybe Scully who I stiill think will be a gun, not that I want to turn this into one of those arguments.
-
How long untill Viney is a walk up start? I am nearly wetting myself waiting to unleash this beast on the AFL. What are his odds for Rising Star? I'll take him to poll the most votes for Melbourne brownlow night
-
I have been thinking along similar lines, and IMO our KPP down the spine look better overall its our midfield that is far behind in talent, not in potential though. For me its weather Howe can continue to improve, Jones can stay consistent, Trengrove and Grimes lift another level and Viney have an impact

Rokie draft, pick 40 GC Suns - Aliir Aliir, what a great story! Best of luck. Family drives draft hopeful and former Kenyan refugee Aliir Aliir

BUMP Been thinking about our foward line and it has a few strings to it now Clark and Dawes if they are both fit is going to be hard to cover, and if Pederson is down there as well it will only stretch other teams futher. Rodan and Byrnes and maybe Davey and Blease are our only small fowards that I can see but there is 4 options none the less. And our mids rotating through the foward line like Sylvia, Howe Trengrove Tapscott its starting to look dangerous. Also Magner or Dunn to play defensive fowards, Watts and Garland can be thrown down there to mix it up a bit and Hogan to come over the next few years. Sylvia/Howe Dawes Trengrove/Tapscott Blease/Rodan Clark Pederson

Post of the year by far, hats off...
-
What about Carlton, didnt they get ban from ALL drafts?
-
If your not allowed to go into drafts and some players retire, how do you fill your list?
-
Would we draft Watts under the 4 Pillars?
-
If we get stripped of all premiership points (which will only be 8) after round 10 for tanking, is that backwards? If we beat GC, GWS and Port thats 5, if we can win 5 games out of the teams slightly above us Richmond ST Kilda Bulldogs Freo Carlton thats 10, if we can upset a Collingwood or Sydney we can get 11-12
-
A change of heart ? Have the odds changed for you
Josh replied to beelzebub's topic in Melbourne Demons
How much did the Bulldogs beat Essendon by in 2000, a late goal from Chris Grant from the boundry? Of course teams have done that in a season. Has a team in the bottom half of the lader ever done that? I doubt it -
Thats Judd's payments

If playing AFL is too hard then quit, go play country footy and get on it till the sun comes up... If your going to stick your hand out for $300,000 a year there is going to be some sacrafices, if that means being subject to public scrutiny for taking ILLEGAL drugs then thats the price to pay

Sack Swan if they havnt already? Something she isnt telling us? This is big, and will get bigger...
