Jack Trengove out for year with navicular fracture
Return to Glory replied to Arrow's topic in Melbourne Demons
Agreed Robbie57. -
That, Biffen, is one of the funniest posts I have ever read.
-
Have the guts to get on your knees and say that to his face.
-
Remember our game style has a lot of chip back and forth.

Ok VH, this is my last sensible comment on the matter. Sides that are struggling all pile in for the pill. It's almost the refuge of the overly desperate side. The best example for me was when we played Brisbane round 1 last year. At least I think it was last year. Even if you look at Carlton, their spread is non existent.
-
For starters, they ( Hawks, Cats) are very rarely static. If they kick across ground, more often than not its to space for the players to run into. Often, we kick across ground to a stationary player. And that, in part, is a confidence thing.

With apologies to all my Carlton friends

Guilty about apologizing or reading Stuie's comments? One I can understand. -
Sorry VH. A feeble attempt to illustrate my over excitement after one win. FWIW, we don't have enough elite kicks or decision makers in the back half IMO.
-
So, if I have this correct, and forgive me for paraphrasing, but you think we're going to hammer the Suns? Same.
-
So basically, I don't know.

I wonder whether being made Captain of a terrible side so young has temporarily burnt him out mentally. And, in turn, it's impacted his development to the point where he needs to regroup or be lost to the game. I'm backing him in to work through this but I suspect t will take time.

Jimmy T is a smart player. By years end I'd like to think he has established himself in the ones.
-
Ta WJ. Love that Salem may be finding his feet.
-
Dean played very well. A couple of times he blazed away but he can work on that.

I know he literally had a work experience arrangement with the club last year. I suspect it's a very loose arrangement at this stage. -

Sounds like you need to put everyone on ignore bar yourself. Then every second post could read ' great post Machsy. Nailed it in one.' -
We must roll this win into next week
Return to Glory replied to dees189227's topic in Melbourne Demons
Acknowledging Ablett is an out and out star, I watched the game last night and out of those 35 possessions at last 15 were cheap give and goes around the back. Umpires seem to give votes by weight of possession but I thought he wasn't in the best 6 - 8 players. Previously, teams have often not tagged him tight but rather guarded space. Last night he was given a traditional tag and was less effective. All players lose a step and at the risk of being proven spectacularly wrong, I think he has. Cowboy, it helps when I read the last sentence. Apologies. -
I'd love Toumpas to have a great game today to push for selection. Also, Trengove, the forgotten man needs to show something. I fear for this kid. He doesn't appear, to my mind at least, to be part of an up and going Melbourne.
-
I also thought Matt Jones was outstanding.
-
His work rate beyond the ball ups and throw ins was much better than against Mumford. Maybe his thrashing from last week is a godsend.
-
12 pts DV. We are now firmly entrenched in the 8.
-
I was surprised at the McKenzie decision. That's must be what it would be like if you were a Geelong supporter down at Simmonds.

Machsy, you are very adversarial. If someone has a view that differs from yours invariably they are subject to your almighty wit and repartee. To your mind, they are either ignorant or lack the intelligence that you believe is yours and yours alone. Why not ease up on the 'smartest guy in the room' routine. I happen to agree with what your saying but you don't have to be a [censored] about it. All my laugh, RTG. -
With Salem still to debut suddenly the clouds are parting. Go you good things.
-
I suggest you do. It's a legal term. Anyway Machsy, we won and Frawley was terrific.
