AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
These three picks are quickly becoming my preferred outcome assuming Robey and Taylor aren't available.

AFL Draft 2025: Phantom Drafts
I'm guessing it's not ideally set up for mobile. All I can do is potential trades in a fairly difficult to navigate way.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
Cal will release his actual phantom on Monday. His previous releases have been his own personal rankings. He watches a lot of junior footy and has decent insights but he's not a recruiter and there's always a decent variation between his rankings and his phantoms.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
I'm not sure we will have an realistic play on Gold Coasts or Brisbane's picks with only pick 37 to offer from a points perspective. Adelaide might be an option but that's a decent slide and we may miss out on both Nairn and Pickett. Perhaps there will be some elaborate multi-club trades that land us two mid to late first round picks but it's hard to imagine at this stage.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
Will probably be clearer what options are practice come cals phantom draft on Monday but as it stands multiple clubs between 10-15 are considering Nairn as per gettable. Eagles don't have a pick in the 20s currently and I actually wouldn't be surprised if Farrow is high up on our board as well. I think if we want to make a play for Pickett it's going to be via offering up Gold Coasts future first to a team that doesn't mind trading out of this year's draft for next. Maybe a team like the Dogs (Pick 14) Geelong (19) or Freo (20). Just my opinion at this stage. Or we just take him with pick 8. The other watch is what Carlton do with picks 9 and 11 and where a bid for Dean comes in. Perhaps we can get involved there somehow.

2026 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Power granted NGA access to 2026's potential No.1 pick - https://www.afl.com.au/news/1452438 Port have been given NGA access to Dougie Cochrane who is in the early conversation to be the #1 pick along with Cody Walker. Given the new rules Port, who may finish low anyway, will only be able to use two first round picks to match a bid.

2026 Walk Out Song
Given how poor we could be next year, this song seems appropriate.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
I would be pretty happy with this. Wouldn't be surprised if we offered Gold Coast future 1st + 37 if Pickett is still available later on.

- Bailey Laurie to half-back in 2026?
I've been in to bat for Laurie many times over the last couple of years. In my view his form at VFL should have been recognised, particular with our poor performing firsts, but Goody had marked his cards. Having said that, I can't see him fitting into the backline. He hasn't got the athletic profile or aerial game to play as a small lock down or rebounding defender. His position is best suited to high-half forward with mid rotations. He'll still have a battle ahead of him getting a game next year I think but a fresh start with a new coach might unlock some confidence. The epitome of a make-or-break year for Laurie.- Corey Ah-Mu - NGA Selection

I do like that site and frequent it many times throughout the year. More just a comment on the coverage from the official AFL website.- Sam Cumming
- AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
Is it just me or is the draft coverage pretty poor so far considering it's only a week away now? There's usually the "get to know" draftee videos on the afl website that cover 30 players in a countdown towards the draft. I haven't seen any of shifters "best prospects" broken down by position either. Additionally, last year there was a dedicated afl.com search engine/function that allowed the average fan to look up player profiles and highlights. Haven't seen any of that this year unless I'm looking in the wrong spot.- Wildcard Round
I think everyone should focus on the positive in this situation which is... Gold coast finishing 7th and being knocked out in the wildcard round and gifting us pick 9 instead of 12+ Death ride 2.0... Fall of the SunsTM (working title)- AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
That's a big if. So far we've been going off reporter rankings which obviously will have a large discrepancy with recruiters. The Windsor to dees mail came fairly late and not long after our interest was known it came out GWS was also eyeing him off.- Jacob Farrow

I'd imagine we would have to offer up a future 1st as well to get that deal done.- Welcome to Demonland: Latrelle Sumner-Pickett
Perhaps, but I vividly remember the outrage on here in the 2019 draft when we not only traded our pick 8 down to 10, but then proceeded to take Kozzie with that pick. Most thought he was a 2nd - 3rd round pick at best and only had average form line in the sanfl ressies. If the recruiters take him at 8 I'll back them in, they know what they're doing. If he's our target but we're able to slid down the order a bit and pick up future selections, even better.- Aidan Schubert
Someone posted on the rumour thread that Adelaide are keen to trade up for him. I wouldn't be opposed to doing something like this. We'll have 2 death rides next year and will be armed with up to 3 first round picks (+ 2 futures) to trade aggressively or take to the draft. - Bailey Laurie to half-back in 2026?
