One thing I will say - at least Nicho gets the ball to butcher it - our possession stats for many other players are atrocious.

Who should be the new football manager?
Norm Smith's Curse replied to rjay's topic in Melbourne Demons
Ahaha - the man who perpetually has a go at others for having no brain for daring to criticise players, coaches or officials at the club thinks Terry Wallet would be a good idea to be out football manager - all credibility shot down in 8 words...hahah. I mean its not like Wallet has had a 5 year crack at rebuilding another side and .... -
INTO DARKNESS: THE BOULEVARD OF BROKEN DREAMS
Norm Smith's Curse replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
On SEN they mentioned something similar - when the second Gold Coast player was injured GC all got into a huddle, MFC just stood around alone or in little groups. its every man for himself when the ship starts sinking... -
Head I dont did what? I agree that He didnt play and should be paid out on, but Nicho is fair game Im afraid.

INTO DARKNESS: THE BOULEVARD OF BROKEN DREAMS

Dawes might prove alright but the others were brought in to show onfield leadership replacing the leaders we lost at season's end (Green Moloney etc) - and two of them struggle to even get a game and the other two struggle to get the pill. -
INTO DARKNESS: THE BOULEVARD OF BROKEN DREAMS

The reality bus has arrived. Neeld could have explained that he thoiught the side had to bottom out and go backwards to ultimately go forwards - instead he expressed shockl that we lost to Port Adelaide when in hindsight the midfield included three players debuting and only one inside mid who draws the tag. We never had a chance and he should have either known that or been honest about it. The reality bus has arrived and big changes are coming. -
INTO DARKNESS: THE BOULEVARD OF BROKEN DREAMS

The problem is we have quick players like Bail and Nicholson who just have terrible disposal and other players with perhaps better disposal who simply never get the ball. -

part of the problem. McKenzie is good at tackling and tagging, not disposal, hardball gets or spread. -
All year we've been beaten across the board - how can we have so few possessions yet so few tackles? if you compare this side even to the MFC side from 2009 its worlds apart. Sometimes you have to dismantle something and go backwards as a consequence to ultimately go forward. maybe that is what is happening now but Mark Neeld hasnt sold that well and when he said he is surprised how far back we are im worried.
-
A lot of players keep getting games because we have no one better to replace them with...
-
Here we go again - Demon 3165 attacking everyone who dares to criticise players and coaching staff in a side is clearly the worst Demons side since the early 80s at least.
-
Knowing MFC we will sack Mark Neeld and then appoint another untried coach...
-
Can we suspend the coach for a few weeks as well?
-
The fact that Viney - an eighteen year old - hast he most disposals and clearances for the dees is a total and utter disgrace.
-
James Sellar's AFL career has mere minutes left...
-
Clearly when people said he had lost the players it was an accurate assessment. They just arent trying. Either that or our list is much worse than I could imagine. Either way you could argue that both would be at least partially Neeld's fault.
-
Looks like he is totally unable to do anything to stem the flow.

Jack Viney and Max Gawn

I dont have foxtel so im listening. Every week I wait to see who will stand up and finally show something.
-
Which radio channel is the most scathing? Wayne Carey or SEN with Terry Wallet calling us pathetic?
-
He is also a very poor communicator. I never really know what he is talking about.
-
Ive defended Neeld in the past but as I said earlier the fact he was surprised about our round 1 loss speaks volumes about whether he is up for the task.
-
There is a certain calmness in accepting the fact that we are actually worse than most people could ever have imagined.

He wins the coach's award every year.
