If I was mark Neeld Id bring out our 2002 list as it is now - even with years away from footy they would show something at least.

I think part of the problem is an overestimation of some on our list. Clearly.

Mark may as well just leave now - pack his bags and start looking for a new job. For better or worse its over tonight. he wont be coaching next week. And to be honest I doubt he will be the only one. People rave about Neil Craig but he picked up Tambling from Richmond and recommended Sellar from Adelaide. I don't think he will walk away unscathed either. I don't know if this list is as bad as these results. Honestly I doubt it could be but then again this is the list that Neeld refined. Id just like to say to all the younger supporters here, once we were a half decent team - late 80s and 1998-2006 we were actually fun to watch. This is actually so bad that its almost funny. Bring back Nathan Carroll! Bring back Uze - bring back a player who cares!

I'm just blown away that people buy into these fluff pieces just designed to sell papers about us in dire straits. Greg Denham this morning saying all these players will 'walk out of melb'. Only one who can at the end of 2013 is Sylvia. If frawley, watts or gawn want to leave - and btw nothing I have heard about two of the three indicates that they do - it will be disappointing but we will get trade worth for them

I'm guessing he kept quiet while not being out on the park and will now say it how it is which is long overdue. Uncompromising leadership. What the club needs.

Greg Denham is a big fan lol. he is not a liability in defense but can be elsewhere. He is slow even for a big man. But in defense he is ok. All he has to do is punch it.

yeah I just started a new thread on that. Uncomprising, brutally honest and no nonsense. We need someone like that. If he talks the talk he has to walk it and I believe he will.

In Neeld's presser Dawes impressed me. No bs. No excuses. Genuine anger at the level of effort. No one was left in any doubt. its been a while since a player from mfc has been that cut up by our performances. Chris comes across as a genuine, uncompromising leader.

Roos was innovative but rocket built that list.

Still think the pies will regret discarding Dawes for an oldie with 2 seasons left in him tops. Dawes's best footy is ahead of him. to see Clark, Dawes and Hogan in our forward 50 - would have to seem attractive to some mids in the future. Dahlhous? Prestia? Sorry got caught in a dream...

Dawes has impressed me today. He is a natural leader. Glaringly obvious when u consider our lack of them.

very much agree. He is a confidence player. In our side he should feel pretty safe with selection and will shine when given leadership opportunities.

Thought Jetta was good. Kept the pressure up when the others died off. I thought he showed more than most.

Trenners used to be twice the player sculldog was. Hope its still in him.

Magner was far too good today to have been rookied. Evans, matt Jones, terlich, Dawes were all enjoyable to watch and justifying why they are in the side. Jetta looked like a tried - never gave up and applied pressure. Jamar won the ruck thanks to mullet's absense. Aaron Davey was our best and our play maker and probably the only player on our list who has reliable kicking accuracy/disposal. garland has really lifted and frawley was tidy. Dawes made a massive difference to our forward half.

yes I agree. Its hard for the bookends when the midfield leaks like a siv.
