  1. I saw what looked like a glimpse of disappointment when they were introducing the show, but the interview segment with Barret eased my concerns. He looks on top of it, definitely.
  2. What is the difference between Viney and Burns? Apart from him being not being an "outsider?" - not that I reckon that matters..
  3. Thommo doesn't follow anyone on Twitter- so that's how you'd know. I haven't been on Twitter for a while!
  4. They just mentioned that on the footy show. I believe Garry btw, his body language was sound. Convincing even. We made no deal to Lyon so he didn't turn us down- we spoke to Lyon's management about availablity SHOULD he not re-sign with Saints. Little did everyone know Lyon was already looking after himself. Garry says he is very confident we are where we need to be in looking for a new coach and I believe him.
  5. That is cold and heartless! Apparently he was in tears. Shocking! RL better watch his back.. this could happen to him too..
  6. Did you see the hint of worry in his eyes WYL when the Brayshaw announced RL deal.. I did
  7. Thank you. And it is she, not he No offense was meant, promise!
  8. I would never trivialise suicide dude! I didn't even mention suicide. It was a llight hearted jibe. And yes I do know of a few people that have taken their own life.
  9. definitely will.. nless he has a GREAT poker face i'm pretty good at picking up on body language. And 90% of what you say you say with your body. So it will be interesting.
  10. I'm morraly bound to ask you Diablo- Are you OK? (RUOK week..) It's always doom and gloom with you.. I think you need a hug. Depression doesn't have to be faced alone...
  11. BOOM!! What I was alluding to earlier. Why would we not make an offer to Lyon... that is just mental! I think we might have someone already! I know it's all just speculation, but I want to believe we didn't approach (if that is the case) because there was no need- not because we're fools.
  12. Maybe he was offeed 6 mill for 6 years with 2 mill up front. I find it very hard to believe that Lyon would chose Fremantle over us. I'm starting to think we never even gave him an offer.... if you get my drift... Hopefully its a sign that we already had someone lined up.... because the alternative is we really SUCK majorly!
  13. WTF's going on? Cant even go get some food and [censored]'s popping off. What's Lyon doing?
  14. It was all part of our grand plan *evil witches laugh* I don't think so, I think we offered him all we were willing to, and they were always going to beat that. And I just think that Sheeds was drinking and spilling beans because he is a bit of an alcoholic who just happens to be fat and arrogant. And slightly retarded, a dangerous combo!
  15. LOL, so if true how would they ever gain the trust of a coach aagain? You would always be worried your job may be in jepardy because there maybe "another offer to good to refuse" just waiting over your shoulder. I'll wait for the real story, but it's fun to speculate about. 4 clubs now. Lots of musical chairs.
  16. Is this another smoke screen for MM? I wouldn't want Harvey, no real success, and the riddles he talks would make Sheeds seem almost normal. But it would make for a weekly hilarious press conference so I'm kinda torn. And if we are aiming for "big fish" Harvey ain't exactly one of them.
  17. No. Collingwood have already done the deed. Wherever they end up finishing, malthouse won't be the coach next year thus ruining his chance at another shot of glory, or ruining his chance to atone for this years early exit. Whatever happens with them he won't be coaching next year and he can either accept that, or move on. I'm tipping he already knows his next move. Us the punters just have to wait for a suitable time for an announcement either way. In the meantime I can sit back and laugh at smoke-screen theories. Fair dinkum there are so many smoke screens around this place David Copperfield would be jealous!
  18. Nobody is born a coach and all great coaches started somewhere, and once again you've managed to place Viney in the no basket because of our previous failed coaches- you need to learn how to consider individuals on their merits. And I strongly believe that Viney always wanted the job, he just didn't know it. As silly as that sounds- I think he simply acquired the hunger for it. Supposedly it's addictive. I imagine it would be!!
  19. I get it now, but the main differnece in my mind is that Viney is currently the incumbent, it would be the same as directly saying to him your not good enough to keep this post, but you can stay if we can't get anyone else though. Semantics though, I'm sure anyone who wants a gig as a main coach, and gets it, doesn't whine about the process they had to endure to obtain it.
  20. LOL I know he is an incoherent retard in front of the cameras at press conferences, but he doesn't have to speak to the media when he's at the club teaching the kids. He knows how to speak the language of football, at least Our post match confeences will be amusing at least!
  21. I don't understand what you are saying?
  22. You are taking away from Viney if you are suggesting he not good enough because he is part of a "boys club mentality" hmmm Yeah LM is highly accoladed, but Viney has been assistant coach at a premiership team more recently. I get what your saying but at the same time it's very unfair discarding an unknown just because he is a part of some "boys club," it's pretty much discrimination in a way.
  23. It's hard to stay informed when there are so many contradictory reports coming out at the same time lately. For what it's worth I would like a top line coach, but failing that I'd go the Viney route. I don't necessarily have a preference over MM or Lyon. Or LM, hell even Choko Williams (as I may have been also said in another thread) We've gotten to the point where any coach who could shake us up will be fine! B) Hey if anyone puts forth a logical and well argued point I am easily persuaded Unless I feel strongly apposed to it that is!
  24. or quite possibly *losing* big time. If no one's available and we miss out on the lot we go Viney (which I have no problem with), now I know this will mean at least we had a dip to try and land a big fish, but it's not sending a strong message of faith to (Mr 3/4/5th choice) Viney, and once again the dees will come across un influential and dare I say, weak. I bloody well hope like hell that Mick is going to come to us. Not only will he turn us around on the park but our image will increase 10 fold. Not only will Sully be well and truly yesterdays news, but all our recent plights will be forgotten, because we would have pulled off a massive coup!
  25. Whilst im not disagreeing, if we were going to go down this route can we save ourselves a lot of cash and let Viney do that. I mean if they are just going to be a motivator and someone else is going to do the crux of the work?
