I agree 100%. If he says anything about this being a great challenge/ part of something new, I will dead set kill something! This would be about money money money and nothing else. That to me would be the ultimate insult. If you are going to leave us after 2 years you were never really with us anyway. If you want a "challenge" or the opportunity to "be part of something new," well we are the perfect vehicle for that sunshine! Save a bit of face and be honest.

Exactly. If they did know they would have dropped the bomb when he was omitted for the Port clash. Common sense tells us this. Everything else is just speculation. Some posters on this site just want to wallow in pity. The AFL has vested interests to lure some "class" to the new franchise. Which club would have been able to stand up to these circumstances? None of them. Lets just suck it up and move on. Secure the optimum compensation, secure a coach and keep on living!

I agree. We were never in a position to match the dollars. We were behind the 8 ball from the get go. IF we could offer 3rd party agreements it could have been differnet. The AFL have pried a future star from our hands- make no mistake. It MAY end up in our favour if his knee can't stand up to the rigors of AFL football. These things usually have a way of working in our favour (McClean/Johnson etc). We have 2 chances of picking a dedicated future MFC star now. Can we please ask them if they want to play for us and are interested in premiership success, not bags of cash that will inevitably come anyway? Gauge their response. Life goes on. Mr Sully will be known as a money grabber from this day forth. Lets nurture a proper footballer- one who's success is gauged by premierships.

That was the last game- if we were required to keep quiet about it, there was nothing extra to be gained by holding on to that info so GWS can have their moment in the sun. If Tom did make up his mind early and has just been toying with us I want that truth to be out there. Well my theory is you don't actually need your parents to see the facilities, as its a no brainer they are going to be top notch. Also it's been reported that Scully's parents have given him their blessing to move there for his career. So the way I look at it is that he is giving them the tour of his new palace. I was in the undecided camp up until I heard about this. Maybe I'm wrong. I hope I am, but this new revelation has just made me feel he is gone-ski.

If Jimmy knew the truth the club would have, and it would have been accompanying the news that he was missing the Port game. We would have been releasing that info right away. There is no benefit to keeping the info to ourselves. I don't buy into this helping our compo theory. The compo is based on a formula- not our willingness to play a game of secrets. Anyway now we should make some noise about getting the best compo we can possibly get. I just can't wait for the presser- I want to hear his reasons. Would it have mattered? I don't think so. I can't remember if it did to be honest, but do you expect GWS to play by the rule book? Who is going to sanction them? Their big fat Greek sugar daddy?
