Hi. How's it going? This injury was tough to take. Just when Straussy's confidence was on the rise he snaps his leg like that. Major set back, but it is good to hear that he is on the mend! =) Weeping wall on Twitter made a card for him and a few of us sent in messages of hope, I'm sure things like that raised his spirits. Can't wait to see him back out there!
-
Hmmmm. I don't think so. No doubt, when he is firing he provides us with something we lack- and we are a better team when he is up and about, but the most important player he is not.
-
Really? I think he's done a good job of leading out on the field given the lack of experience around him. Also is responsible for the boxing camps and familiarizes new recruits with the history of MFC when they arrive at the club.. I can't think of another possible captain- given the age of Watts and Trengove.

Fine on Mozilla.
-
You need a captain who is bold, vocal and leads by actions. Brent Moloney.

It's bloody brilliant! Don't know about the collars on the boys though....

Bulldogs administration will be relieved that Striker475 of Demonland fame has justified their decision.

Which Players Will Stand Up For Neeld
Jesse Christ replied to Watt and Howe?'s topic in Melbourne Demons
What do you mean by "stand up?" I would have thought all of them, if they want to play senior football, that is! -
Where will the new coach's gaze be directed?
Jesse Christ replied to Crompton's the man's topic in Melbourne Demons
A small forward. A big bodied forward. A captain. How long is a piece of string? -
Let the players decide. After all, I think they are the best people to judge who has the best leadership qualities. Also who they have their faith in. You will find this will be a player they would put their bodies on the line for.
-
Holes in our list, or weaknesses? Holes; No small forward No big bodied forward for said small forward to crumb off - we can draft for a small forward (with pace), we can trade for a big bodied FF (or wait for someone to develop) Weaknesses; Lack of clearance ability Lack of focus for full games Lack of experience Lack of knowledge of defensive responsibilities Lack of toughness (numerous players unwilling to go when it's their turn) Lack of consistency Lack of mature bodies. Still at base camp, clearly. Hopefully Neeld knows how to climb a [censored] mountain lol!
-
And yet you'll probably be one of the one's who complain about us being perceived as weak and push overs. Club first mate. Neeld has no problems with this- he's forgotten about Collingwood's midfield already. Harden up. I lol at you!

Can this be the start of a new era for the MFC
Jesse Christ replied to havago's topic in Melbourne Demons
Encouraging words, but just words at this stage. Lets see our attitude in the Nab cup, and the ensuing round 1 clash. Like what cowboy said; No more "statement" games. -
Mark Neeld on ABC Radio Sunday Inquisition
Jesse Christ replied to dees189227's topic in Melbourne Demons
YES YES YES! 1000 TIMES YES!!!!! Saying that I'm excited right now is a mild understatement =P -
Jamar stands out because his head is as big as others torsos. This thread is all types of failures, and the funny thing is you were actually being serious. Must be a slow news week............... Lol
-
Jeezus. So Sully and coach saga over- now the pressing issues are fashions on the field? What's happening around here?
-
LOL I don't find it weird, I find it [censored] awesome that have somewhat thrown a spanner in Collingwood's plans! Is this Demonland? Who cares about Collingwood hahaha ffs some people!
-
OMG, I remember them being called the "handbaggers" what a distant memory that is now! And you are so correct lovely post! We are soft- now I don't know if Neeld meant hardest team as in physically, but I suppose you have to be pretty tough to be a hard team to play against, so I guess the two go hand in hand. Can't wait to see the team that we assemble around him.
-
Of course you're underwhelmed because Neeld comes with no recognizable name, and there were no fire works at the press conference. Coached his local team to 4 premierships in a row, that requires baddassness no matter what league you're in. Spent the last 4 years under Malthouse... yet everone would do a back flip if we landed MM- but his protoge leaves you underwhelmed? It's an unpopular sentiment because it is unfounded and based on your own insecurity. Get behind the club.
-
I'm feeling pretty confident he can turn things around for us! I am starting to get excited again Any news on his assistants? Is Craig coming too or is Neeld going to bring his own men? I wouldn't mind someone with senior coaching experience being with him to act an advisor of sorts.

I Raise my glass to Dean Bailey
Jesse Christ replied to cowboy_from_hell's topic in Melbourne Demons
I love the guy. I detected a little bit of contempt towards the club, but not the players. You can sense his regret that he isn't there anymore, and perhaps upon reflection he might have done a couple of things different, but that's life. He still has love for our playing group and genuinely wishes them all the success in the world. He is a class act- always has been, always will be. I will be very sad if he is lost to football forever. Can we give him another job? Is this a viable option? -
Well no one else is going to say it's a ripsnorter of a hypothetical.. $ully has cashed in his chance at success in football and will forever be known as the guy who left his club after 2 years to chase money and not premierships. It's the AFL's fault, but I'll still hold a grudge. For the record that's a big NO times 6 million! I honestly thought we'd seen the last of Sully threads. Can we move past the kid now or what?
-
someone wrote somthing about neeld putting a jumper in the middle of the huddle and inspiring his players to get up for their injured skipper, it isnpired the hell out of me I suggest you read it
-
No, only a few are having a sook, but I wouldn't worry about it. Theres a minority on this site that will take any opportunity to stick the boots in. I'll admit, not my first choice as I don't know anything about him, but like many untired coach before him (and evryone was untired at one stage) I'll give him a go to prove himself rather than condemn him before he's had a chance to show what he can do. Now I look forward to the footy again next year. It's just a relief knowing that the coaching predicament is sorted! Does anyone else think that Mick isn't totally out of the picture, just yet?

From memory there was nothing wrong with the DVD. To be a good coach you need a bit of mental about you- not full mental, like farting in the bath tub and dribbling and stuff- but a bit of psycho about you. Love the new avatar DA, bloody epic!!!
