Spot on - I've never understood the watering down concept. Not only do we not have the incentive to go after any free agents of our own, we are actually screwed if we do. It is just a hopeless system. They're far better off just making it open season. I know that is likely to end up in a situation like the NBA, where eg Cleveland had literally one or two players contracted for the coming season, but at least everybody is competing fairly for talent. We are trying to improve with both hands tied behind our backs.

I think the way Roos talked in his presser about pick 3, there's no way we are not getting it. If we didn't, I think he and PJ would have an absolute fit. He talked about it like it was a done deal, and he is too polished a media performer to put himself in the gun like that unless he knows.

He really owns these types of pressers. Made very sensible comments on Clark and pumped up his value. Was blunt about the problems in free agency - about as blunt as he could possibly be. Was clear about wanting people who want to commit to the club and be part of what he wants to do and essentially couldn't care less about Chip. Really, really good presser.
