  1. It’s more than that the game has evolved a little the role of a forward is Lead up hard to the footy run deep to the square when the other tall leaves that area and potentially block their direct opponent on the way through to give your team mate the space they need stop your opponent from being able to rebound freely from D50 Press up on your opponent and prevent easy transition Lead out wide or high up the ground to take the intercept defender away from the hotspot as teams did to May when Lever was out Smalls get front and centre to win the ground ball or apply a tackle to lock it in Get separation from your opponent and/or create 1v 1s in your F50
  2. They were behind Brisbane players and one of them was Daniher he baulked but they corralled him well didn’t over commit. Throughout the game it’s the small things not just that moment
  3. No I don’t blame the umpire it was blatant deliberate. Although they could have squared up for the poor deliberate OOB call on Rivers in the second (only joking)
  4. Cmon he wasn’t tripped, he dived. Could see he had no options forward and didn’t want to turn it over, In hindsight if he wanted the boundary handball it of the Lions leg
  5. You really actually have no idea, Fritta who I have been critical of recently played a very solid team game tonight and played as a defensive forward on Andrews. And you claim you coached Sweet Jesus
  6. So close, just needed to nail 1 in the last, super proud of the effort and a lot of the team first things from tonight. No doubt those who were slating the team pre game will be out and about on this post game thread The team should hold their heads up tonight
  7. You people are pathetic, fcs he was waiting for a hit up lead, they had numbers deep and he didn’t want to bomb it Serio supporters like you need to F off
  8. It’s going to end up taking the same amount of time as Junior Riolis did, nearly two seasons. JS29s choice, poor life decision he bears the consequences and a line should be put through him
  9. What a s@it comment
  10. Long way to go especially for an underage tall and FFS stop panicking every time someone on Demonland provides comments which are not substantiated in any way. What will be will be
  11. He will be getting shown footage of his efforts by the forwards coach, last weeks footage would be horrific. Whether coming in ill or not he just refused to give any effort Sometimes a statement needs to be made
  12. Needs to just work hard, the rest falls into place eventually if you have the talent which he does
  13. He’s a natural competitor and as such will play on. He”ll be cautious for a while regain his confidence and will play as hard as ever. It’s just in him
  14. He's struggling and the bar has been set high by him over 7 years. He's missed a pre season and it shows, he's not fat but he's not in ripping shape as he has been over previous seasons and that is understandable after what he's gone through. He has credits in the bank, but the honest conversation will be had between him and the FD regarding next season and lets hope he just needs to take a break to freshen up in the off season and hit the ground running for a solid pre season. That will make a huge difference in getting him back to his standards. I wouldn't mind him going to Neale on Friday night, he will take Oliver to the footy and it will mean Berry has to run with someone else likely Viney, but that will still throw a spanner into the Lions game plan
  15. Wonderful and sobering post and I hope Toni found joy in the win and shared it with her family. If nothing else last night provided no doubt a treasured memory for her and her loved one’s they will hold forever. It puts into perspective the important things somewhat
  16. 6. Viney 5. Rivers 4.,May 3. Gawn 2. Nibbler 1. Langdon
  17. Are you surprised his posts are always over the top
  18. Allan, Urquhart, Boxshall and Kelly all contested mids but WAs midfield lacks that touch of class. Burke on the outside is a running machine and Hayes and Angove will give some exciting passages but Vics will have them covered although Riddle is a very talented developing ruckman
  19. If you’re insinuating I’m woke, you’re off the mark in a massive way but that will give my mates a good laugh. I like Presidents who are seen and not heard, Kennett was all about self promotion same as Koch and I knew an assistant from one of the clubs you were referring too who just wished the president would shut up. I also like leaders who don’t jump to attention and call press conferences to bow to the pressure of the media or Demonlanders who feel the god given right to be spoon fed daily on the inner workings of the club. This place blows up when a story is released about club A and B being into player X and because we aren’t mentioned it means we’re sitting on our hands. As I’ve said on other threads I will hold my judgement to see how we go for the remainder of this season and next.
  20. National u/16 Championships commence this weekend I believe BVR has been named co-captain of WA
  21. Yet some will say both Hawthorn and Collingwood have been less arrogant and their culture improved with both Kennett and Maguire moving on
  22. Best of luck pup, hopefully the first of many and the start of a long career
  23. So life’s good spending time with a loved one while they are doing something they enjoy
  24. Yes seen a lot of him big strong bull, but his disposal by foot is really poor. I know Hawthorn have shown interest in him but I don’t expect him to go early
  25. I don’t suffer fools old dee, they don’t warrant my time or response. Hope you’re going well and not to disheartened by the current situation we find ourselves in. I have my health, a roof over my head, a wonderful wife, sons who are turning into fine young men and the family overall are in a good place. On the footy side of things, what can I say, us older folk have seen this all before, whilst the MFC are currently struggling, it’s not all bad, I have a role that I love and keeps me busy, I occasionally get to watch my boys play and still regularly get to go to the Ammo’s to share good times, talk about old stories and a few beers with good friends. In a nutshell as bad as things may seem there are always positives. Keep the faith and enjoy your time with family and if you’re still getting along to the Ammo’s smile and enjoy
