  1. I've heard it being discussed a few times on radio but here is an article where they refer to it http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/adam-cooney-joins-western-bulldogs-exodus-advises-club-hes-open-to-being-traded/story-fni5fazt-1227085586191 I know he and Lake are friends but FFS pick your moment and a shocking look
  2. and there are no guarantees he hasn't, he will give everything he has for the club and that is a valuable commodity in my book whilst I accept he has currency and it is a ruthless business there are other players on our list I would have in the queue out the door before Jack
  3. Cooney attending the Hawks GF celebrations speaks volumes of his character and leadership qualities. I would have been on the phone to his manager the next day saying I think you need to shop Adam around for a new home because that is not the sort of leadership I expect to be shown to our younger players
  4. Don't think the Crows will stink it up they are a decent side and lost a fair few close games this season, out of the 4 who were in contention for the final spot in the 8, without seeing the draw for 2015 I would rate them from 1 - 4 with 1 being the best chance 1. Crows - still a decent midfield Tex on his 2nd year back from a knee recon, Talia is a jet (Gysberts FMD), Brad Crouch for mine is going to be an elite midfielder and I rate Walsh very highly as a coach 2. Suns - all depends on the coach because the right coach will do wonders with this list, O'Meara's knees are a concern for 2015 but with a fit Ablett and Dixon and Lynch continuing to improve and Fortress Metricon they will be pushing big time for the 8 3 Meth Coast - will win the 9-10 games as the front runners they are against mediocre opposition but their midfield will continue to get pushed around by the Top 6 sides in the comp, will be there or thereabouts and given a good run with injury could sneak in, Glass and Cox are huge outs 4. Pies - aging stars quality players wanting out Levi Greenwood being talked up as a trading coup my how things have changed another year of the rebuild next year and the blowtorch is going to be well and truly scorching Buckleys ar$e next season
  5. From my mail the boys are paying a decent whack where they are living in East Melbourne and Hoges is looking at buying a house next year in Melbourne somewhere
  6. To Delanders on the east coast you can clarify for me but was Tyson initially our target last season, did we ask for someone else possibly Shiel or Treloar and it ended up being Tyson put up as the trade option. Richmond have come to us requesting Trengove and the club has asked him if he is open to the trade which he has said (according to reports) he would rather stay but would not block a trade if the club wanted it and he has reviewed the Toiges facilities and had a medical. I would think the bargaining and discussions will be occurring as we speak and continue into Monday. The initial report by Jay Clark (who if you are reviewing this as part of your job are a complete moron who doesn't even know players names and has a strike rate up there with North Korean factory workers) put forward will probably not end up being the final deal. Trengove may end up being replaced by another MFC player for 12 & 23 Trengove for 12 may be the deal Trengove & 23 for Pick 12 & 2nd rounder Trengove & 23 for Pick 12 and a RFC player Trengove for 12 and a third party involved I think we are only seeing the start of this and the last 4 days are going to see a lot of rumours and long nights for footy department staff
  7. Let me just clarify WYL If the deal is a straight swap for 12 as I have said many times whilst disappointed I can deal with it and will accept that it is a ruthless business, it is the Pick 23 that has me somewhat annoyed.
  8. now your almost getting somewhere. It's not so much the ball carrier it's a lot to do with our lack of run and spread and forcing the player with the ball to hold on to long with the end result being caught with the ball or a hurried kick and turnover. Blease has the acceleration as does Kent they can break free but again without run and spread creating options the end result was generally the same Roos has started to address this but it will take time.
  9. you do understand its us that is giving up pick 23 in this deal
  10. FMD i give up. oh i wonder why Trengoves name is up and not Jordies or Watts'. Maybe just maybe the Tigers and Crows see what he can do Wyl you really don't get it do you every player on our list can run for 4 quarters. What they struggle with is running both ways over the 4 quarters not just running forward when we have the ball. Trengoves endurance is not in question and he can run both ways as he did during his first two years. Having that trait and being able to apply forward pressure and limit an opponents impact is excerting pressure or don't you understand that So he can't run for four quarters can't kick and is slow WTF are the Tigers and Crows thinking
  11. I don't think people are saying that at all, everyone has a price, he has been very loyal to us in darkest of times, IMO the feeling others could have gone in this trade possibly, but I understand it is Richmond who made the first move. I will not like Trengove to the Tigers for Pick 12, but if we get an A-Grader in a package trade for that deal I can deal with it. But 23 and Trenners for Pick 12 I think is the issue
  12. what two way running is that what you are talking about, just quit now WYL.
  13. Right we'll agree to disagree but I aint clutching at straws, I'll back my footy knowledge and understanding of what components/players it takes to make up a side against yours any day of the week
  14. read it again, as I said above he dominated in the game against Essendon when he came back from his suspension, it was either his first or second week back. You have a computer you check it, but trust me he dominated. In fact get yourself stupefyinly drunk and sit through a replay of 186 turn the sound down and just watch Trengove. and WYL you do realise there is more to Trengove than being a dominant player don't you. Nick Maxwell when did he ever dominate a game, Darren Glass, Richie Vanden Burg, Gary O'Donnell do you understand the roles each player plays in a side and kicking goals, breaking out of packs is not the only form of leadership
  15. Your opinion is not fact and you do understand the difference between speed and having the ability to run all day and create space, because those I have named are mostly those sort of players. I watched Daniel Rich through juniors right up to his current level, please don't insult my intelligence he is not quicker than Trenners he is in fact slower he is not great inside and his main weapon is his booming left foot kick Simpson, McVeigh & Beams are not in any shape or form quick players they have great fitness bases and run all day you can throw Swan into that category also Goddard and Bartel are slower than Trengove IMO but they are A graders and very good marks for their size
  16. Do you go out of your way to embarrass yourself so his foot is fine put the sling tackle he laid on Dangerfield has stalled his career. You my friend as you prove time and time again have selective memory, I give you a list of things Trenners does but you fire back with has Jack dominated a game since that tackle, is that the best you have got. What did Trengove get for that tackle 3 weeks from memory and in either his first or second game back he dominated against Essendon, he was also good in several other games in the second half of that season and this is the big key for me in a player and you should know this because FMD we hear about it every other week from you. How old was Trenners in 186, about 19 years of age, he was almost the only player for us that day who stood up and refused to be a statue. He chased and tackled and stood up as a leader. His importance to the playing group can not be underestimated and as I have said many times every player has a price, Pick 12 for Trenners as part of a big deal to get an A-Grader to improve the team I may not like but I can deal with it. Pick 12 in return for Trenners and pick 23 no way. If this is Richmond offering a deal and Trenners goes to check out their club before we sit down with them and say listen you can have him for Pick 12 but forget about Pick 23, we will give you player x instead then again whilst not being happy I can deal with it. So lets just cut the carp about Trenners being slow and not a good player, I can name you numerous players who had injury riddled seasons and looked less than they had previously shown. Only to show their true worth once back to full fitness
  17. How old are you Jimmy Bartel Daniel Rich Dayne Beams Kade Simpson Brendan Goddard Stevie J Matt Suckling Jarred Mcveigh Nick Malceski
  18. I posted this on the Trengove thread and personal circumstances are slightly different but Clark wanted to return to Perth due to homesickness and a sick relative Beams wants to return to Qld due to a sick father Clark made an 11th hour change of heart due to more money being thrown at him Beams father is still sick nothing has changed AAMI Park and the Westpac Centre are the same distance form Qld The Suns play in Qld but Paul Connors has told them Beams wants to play in Brisbane Brisbane have more money in their salary cap and have offered a large pay increase to Beams Gold Coast do not have as much salary cap room and the offer to Beams would not be as large Beams father lives closer to the Gold Coast then he does to Brisbane and Beams father is still sick, if my father was sick the Pies would trade me because they would already have been told I would sit the year out and spend it with my father as I would forever regret not spending that valuable time with him and I don't care what money they pay me it can't by that valuable time
  19. Clark wanted to return to Perth due to homesickness and a sick relative Beams wants to return to Qld due to a sick father Clark made an 11th hour change of heart due to more money being thrown at him Beams father is still sick nothing has changed AAMI Park and the Westpac Centre are the same distance form Qld The Suns play in Qld but Paul Connors has told them Beams wants to play in Brisbane Brisbane have more money in their salary cap and have offered a large pay increase to Beams Gold Coast do not have as much salary cap room and the offer to Beams would not be as large Beams father lives closer to the Gold Coast then he does to Brisbane and Beams father is still sick, if my father was sick the Pies would trade me because they would already have been told I would sit the year out and spend it with my father as I would forever regret not spending that valuable time with him
  20. Is he a better player than Mitch Clark, because IMO Beams is doing exactly what Clark did and once bitten I do not want another player with those values
  21. Yes it was and he was good in 2011 you have selective memory WYL to suit your argument, 88 games was it you said more carp. He is loyal, don't underestimate his standing within the playing group and the message this sends if we off load him Trengove does the 1%ers that stands up in finals of that I have no doubt I am only open to Trading him for Pick 12 and certainly don't want Pick 23 thrown in and that is only if Pick 12 is going to be used along with Pick 3 to land an A grader. He has no pace and acceleration give me a spell is that what it takes to be a player is it, quick lets get Nicho back and sign Blease back up You would have off loaded these two dud players early in the piece I would think Player A: born and raised in Country Victoria. He played junior football with the ??????? Football Club, before moving onto the ??????? in the TAC Cup. He was selected by ???????? with pick 2? in the ???? AFL Draft. His first few years were plagued with inconsistency, injury and off field problems drafted by the ?? Football Club with their first selection, and the ????? overall draft pick, in the AFL Draft. After making his debut in the opening round of the , which was a heavy defeat to Essendon, ?????? went on play in 11 out of a possible 22 senior games over the course of the year. After gathering 21 disposals in Round ?, ????? was awarded an AFL Rising Star nomination. Player B: Having been dropped back to the club's VFL team to play out the second half of the season, ????? went on to play a key part in helping a reserves side capture the VFL Premiership. Despite an impressive debut season, ?????? struggled to maintain his spot within the team during the ????? AFL season, featuring in only 13 senior games. Averaging just 12 disposals a game. After just two senior appearances to begin the ??????AFL season, ???? was again dropped back to the VFL and instructed by coaching staff to work on particular aspects of his game
  22. Lets not let the facts get in the way here WYL, he has been sub par for 2012 & 2013 that is two seasons, he has been out all season injured. Whilst I agree with you that his 2012/13 form is not that of a number 2 pick his early form was very impressive. The kid can play and will be a good player when he gets a decent run at it, really disappointed in this trade if true, would only do a straight swap for Pick 12, my thoughts are something else is happening behind the scenes in regard to an exchange of draft picks for another player we have been chasing. Trengove has shown loyalty to this club and this should be remembered as try and build our culture
  23. It is weak but improving and as I said unless you are going to get one of those players I put in there I would go to the draft, you can still get kids ready to go and just need to manage them correctly. Lets not also forget Roos will be working on having a list of players who can rotate through the midfield so next year you will see Jones, Vince, Tyson, Viney, Cross, Trengove, Toumpas, Salem, Michie, Bail, Riley all with the ability to rotate through. Whilst not star studded I think natural progression will see improvement along with Picks 2 & 3 getting some game time (or who we may trade in for those picks) and Pick 23. I think trading in the wrong players may increase our wins next season but could have a long term effect of stepping backwards in 2017
