  1. Thanks for the fun contest Thai! Dees by 51pts
  2. We won the 2nd Quarter by a POINT!!! Whooohooo!
  3. AFL stats page says 158 goals & 164 behinds not counting today
  4. Thanks Utah. I hear you, but would still like to see it if you hear of any. There's no foxtel here in the USA. Cheers
  5. When Utah, Stuie & Redlegs ask someone to PM a link for a stream, do you mean live streaming video or just radio? I'd love a link too if anyone could please? Thanks very much.
  6. Good point! I agree, ...watched some reruns from 2 years ago & basically the same players seemed faster, better & it was better to watch.
  7. The AFL site is streaming now as usual
  8. But a year ago Brent was 2/3 though the season he won B&F. ..was he playing like crap when he won B&F Bing? That's what you said!I suspect he's quite depressed. I've been depressed since a divorce & he seems like I feel. Maybe if the club, team and supporters showed a lot of love instead of him being harshly criticised we'd see better returns from Beamer? ..and whatever happens in the future would still happen but it wouldn't hurt would it?
  9. I agree Choko. & also think Col & Clark, when firing, are about our only elite players (Jamar 2 years ago & Frawls almost but not this year). Yes Col's frustratingly inconsistent, but injuries + a couple nights partying have aided his condemnation. I'm still supportive though. BTW did you notice Stef break out of the pack & kick that goal over his left shoulder this week? Reminded me of Sylvia.
  10. Here's a crazy one: Martin plays 2nd ruck & backline while we give Chippa a go at what he's been dying to do all year, IE. play forward!! If Frawley doesn't work up forward or if the defense falls apart without him, they trade spots.
  11. Well I don't know that it's definitely his studies or something else, or maybe he's really been doing all he can after all? But I don't really buy that a pro footballer can have a high IQ yet low footy IQ (as you & others said in their own ways) yet be incapable of improving the footy IQ with appropriate work on that. ..& now is the time for Martin bring what he can to the table. The accusation they could be doing more is surely something many players receive, are accustomed to & shouldn't be too psychologically hurt by. How about Sylvia? I mentioned Col because we're told partying has been a distraction for him in the past. Okay inebriation affects health adversely, but lets hypothetically compare someone who soberly chases girls to a dedicated Uni student who spends an equally huge amount of time studying? Now if it was an amateur sports team I'd 100% agree with criticising the womaniser & praising the student, but AFL players are well paid for a 10 - 15 year career which is a high % of their working lives & may lead to a media career etc., so anything distracting from their footy performance is bad, even university studies if they're taking inordinate time & concentration! Therefor I'm comfortable enough posting that I suspect Stefs studies or something are reducing his concentration on mentally preparing to play. If not, why would such a superb & intelligent athlete make so many dumb moves on the forward line? Answer: Because he didn't spend enough time thinking through every little aspect of it time & time again & preparing for a better performance, especially above the shoulders. btw, thanks for the replies rpfc. Ps. I also agree with Dinosaur above.
  12. Interesting take on it! Okay.I'm still thinking instinct is related to reflexes & reflexes are improved & honed by constantly practising & focusing on it. I agree he may overthink on the field, but my post in no way suggested he doesn't give it all he has on game day & he should "think" more on the field. No, I suggested he focus more attention throughout his next year or more on everything related to performing better as a KPF, ruck etc. Then when he takes the field it'll all flow more naturally for him. At present he doesn't appear to have thoroughly learnt how to be an elite player. I could be wrong, but sense he could learn this. If he doesn't, he may eventually be dropped; a shame for such a potential Dees star.
  13. So what are you thinking please rpfc when posters say Martin's running around not appearing to know where to go or what to do when at CHF, even though he has a perfect body & athleticism to star at CHF?Don't you think a player of his supposed great intelligence, who's just a bit bigger all round than Franklin & very fast, might benefit from putting a lot of time into leaning to be a KPF?
  14. Thanks HG! I knew they rarely updated & am now relieved to know Cooks put on a few kg recently! My main point however was that I suspect Martin has HUGE potential that's not being realised due to lack of mental focus on footy.
  15. MFC site says Cook is only 81kg, Clark 99 & Martin 103. We need a BIG man up forward who can PLAY (& ruck a little) so surely it's Martin. I have a theory on why I LOVE his potential, am disappointed in his skills & application, & think he needs a rocket: They say Martin is very, very intelligent, studying this & that at Uni or wherever. I wish he'd do much less of that & much more of what he's paid to do: please focus his concentration on becoming an elite footballer! Often on field Martin seems unsure what to do, which means, for an intelligent full time professional, he's been devoting way insufficient mental concentration to the game. His mind should be full of abstractions about how to handle all kinds of on field situations (eg. where to go & what to do in various scenarios as a KPF). He has ALL the physical attributes of size, athleticism, speed, agility etc. but plays like someone who's never really learnt to be an elite, SMART, skilled player. It's frustrating because he has such elite potential! Thanks for your consideration.
  16. Agreed. GWS will see this as winnable & play it like a grand final. That it's their 1st ever MCG match & $cullygate will inspire them to make even more of a statement. My 2 cents is they'll go hell for leather & the betting odds should be about even instead of us at $1.30 GWS $3.55
  17. "No.1 P_ick!" succinctly makes the point with enough class & such hilarity. It MUST be prominent at the ground & the only way to be certain is to have SEVERAL "No.1 P_ick!" signs brought by different people in to different stands! Please. Being on numerous signs around the ground will really make the point, get tv time & pictures in newspapers. Otherwise we're carrying all our eggs in one basket & it could easily be missed, something could go wrong & the one sign mightn't even make it in to the ground etc.. I imagine Lucifer's hero would feel honoured to have come up with the favourite. Also loving: Just down for a look, Tom? (McQueen) $cul-lie (Range) Will lie for money (Sloonie) Scully is a w@nker! (disco Demon) "$cummy" (Brock Machine) Paybacks a [censored] (Face your Demons -ONLY AFTER we've won -if we win!) etc..
  18. Couple of tasty ones there. If we didn't want to lower ourselves to public obscenities it would work fine as: Scully Scum Scully Scum back off To Sydney slums
  19. Brent did seem a little depressed, but I think he's honest. I suspect playing football (especially at Melb) means much more to him than we realise. While on one hand his conscious mind ordered himself to move on & be positive after winning the B&F then getting dropped from the leadership group, criticised etc., on the other hand his subconscious couldn't help but feel let down & depressed (he's human, I don't blame him). He may have turned the corner now. I think he's a good guy who's worked hard for us.
  20. Yes, "just in case". How'd it be if we de-listed him, then discovered he's a great defender? It seems his body should be better overhead than it is & hopefully he'd improve that, but he'd be the most booming kick out from the square we've got & he's pretty solid & tough isn't he?
  21. I agree JR. Did anyone see the interview where Frawley seemed very keen to have a go playing up forward?Maybe putting him in for Green this week & trying him forward (unless a backline emergency calls) could be the best team we could field this week?
  22. Hahahaha sorry, 95kg, just a typo, I'll fix it!
  23. That's another good solution H&S. Don't know which is less hassle, but would love to hear the questions as well as Neelds answers.
