WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM
The Reverend replied to Theo's topic in Melbourne Demons
Why do we all think he's a turnover merchant? 5th for effective disposals at 81.5%. Way ahead of of a lot of others including Watts who we're all convinced uses the ball well. -
There is absolutely nothing disturbing about a love of fine whisky. A lot of the world's ills would disappear, or at least be more bearable, if more folk found the truth in whisky. Whisky is too good to be man-made. It's inspired by a much higher source. There, I've responded to your jibe. I feel better, but not as good as I will later today when I indulge my passion.
-
I'll pray for them, that they may find peace and solace in the hereafter.

DUMBEST! The man speaks without so little intelligence and yet nobody seeks to hold him to account. It says something about his co-hosts Lyon and Brayshaw. Lowest common denominator anyone?
-
I'm not sure why I was surprised, but Sam Newman's rant last night highlighted just how blind some people are.

It's on the wish-list.

After enduring the first quarter, I donned some leathers and headed out on the trusty Triumph for a leisurely spin around the surrounding Ballarat countryside. What a marvelous time I had as I headed through Creswick and across to Smeaton and then Newstead. Before I knew it I was heading into Daylesford where I stopped for a quick caffeine shot; being careful at the same time not to check the score. As I headed back into Ballarat I had imagined the worst and was convinced we would have lost by 170 points. Imagine how chuffed I was when I discovered that we had only gone down by 98. It just goes to show that sometimes we pay attention to the wrong things on the weekend. I have a regular ride planned for the rest of the home and away rounds - starting next Sunday at 3.20. I intend convincing myself that we will win by 98 points and then being horribly disappointed when we scrape in by 7. It's hard to totally ditch my optimism. I do have some selection problems for next week's game though. Do I take the Triumph or the Goldwing?

Silvani? Liberatore? DiPierdomenico? Barassi?

You forgot Carmen!

Seems like a lot of hand-wringing over a a game none of us should have expected to win. I saw enough today to roll the membership over for another year. The fact that we were that close without the usual input from Jones and Vince says something about the young blokes coming through. We're going to be okay.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 19
The Reverend replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
This worked last week. get on board Demonlanders. Perhaps if we all say the Board's prayer: Our Nathan, who art in the middle, Hallowed be thy game. Thy clearing run. Thy kick to Viney is direct, As in the game plan. Give us this day our Bernie Vince. And forgive us our turnovers, As we destroy them that wear black blue and white. And lead us not into hesitation, But deliver the ball quickly. For Hogan is the target, The Demons, take the glory, For ever and ever. Amen -
I would recommend it as an occasional diversion from the single malts.

Several drams of Canadian Club Classic 12 Year Old in fact. Sometimes I'm tempted by the colonial interpretations. This one is a particularly smooth and tasty drop. It was a memorable and satisfying occasion, was it not?
-
I thought the Viney tackle at the start of the fourth quarter was even better and I'm pretty sure there was no apology. http://www.afl.com.au/video/smart-replay?round=CD_R201501418&matchId=CD_M20150141803&eventType=Goal&seek=5654&videoQuality=high

Yeah, they're fair enough questions but it would be nice to just celebrate without the negativity. It's like when you've just had sex and the missus says, 'That was great, but..... '. It takes all the pleasure out of it.
-
Please... just enjoy the win. So negative. Lighten up, we won.
-
FFS, just be happy!
-
No.1 ruckman perhaps?
-
I told Old Dee yesterday that we were in with a big chance. Never in doubt!
-
Paul Roos has some serious questions to answer.
-
It's a fucken grand old flag! not very reverent but fark it feels good!!!!
-
The prayer worked Old Dee! have faith my friend and we'll emerge from the wilderness.
-
Listen to eddie, he thinks the pies are getting the raw deal.

Fat Eddie should never be allowed to commentate a Collingwood game again. Unbelievable!
