Media - Youre Damned if you do and Damned if you dont.
McQueen replied to DeeZee's topic in Melbourne Demons
Anderson for Schwab? You're really going to have to identify some positive attributes Anderson would bring compared to Schwab. -
If I worked in a job that I absolutely loved that included many of my close mates, but had an absolute [censored] of a boss at the very top (not my immediate manager) that had screwed past employees just to satisfy his own vision and strategy, when it was clearly not working or was clearly in breach and hypocritical of his own bleating regards integrity, would I under perform in an effort to have him removed? Would my fellow employees assist me by also under performing in their roles just to compound the issues - but for the long term sustainability of the team and its efforts? Probably. Whether this is a reasonable analogy or not does not matter. What matters is that after another 4 or so rounds, if we're still getting pumped then Schwab will indeed have been the scapegoat and our Coach will be firmly in the guns breach.

Same old rhetoric?

I still think the supposed game plan is a massive variable in this as well. The players just look they have NFI of what to do when challenged? All of this when we were supposed to building a team that thrives on and dominates the defensive part of the game. Can't we just get the 4 points at training each week when there's no opposition? Neeld seems to think we're so good at training that surely we should be compensated or rewarded for it.

Jamar has lost it. I can't see him ever getting back to his AA form let alone to a standard that is competitive against the rest of the leagues rucks. Royal has got issues right there.

Exactly. Egotistical [censored].

And reading Demonland hardly helps, does it.

A CLUB IN CRISIS ... THE AFL MUST STEP IN
McQueen replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
My missus who doesn't follow the footy at all watched that pre game address and laughed. She asked me if that guy's real? I've run out stilnox so I'll just replay that rubbish twenty minutes before bedtime. -
WGAF.

He kicked it to Sylvia. But yeah, hair and other things stood up...

If Byrnes puts in another mediocre performance you might see it in Rd 3.

Bloody oath. How the hell did he get another gig after last Sunday? Surely Nev is the better option.

One thing is for sure and that is CS is quite possibly the most disliked AFL club identity as far as the media go. They absolutely love to hate him. McClure had another shot at him on 360 last night. Does a CEO really have that much of a bearing on culture? If he drove the tanking methodology that in-turn lead to the terrible culture at the club recently, then the answer is yes. Personally, I can appreciate some of his work with regards to securing sponsorship and managing that side of the business but I'm unaware of what might've been possible and what he potentially failed at. All I care for is results on the football field and if his influence is still causing grief amongst the FD or playing group then he should FRO. I can't be sure of it though. Let's give the coach and the players a chance to redeem themselves and the club and maybe our obsession with trying to find any problem remotely connected to poor performances will wane. Schwab included.

A Calendar of Incompetency - Patrick Smith
McQueen replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
Neil Craig is plan B. -
Yeah and I hope Jack improves on last weeks performance too.
-
The main difference is between 'capable' and 'competent.'

Beers all around!!!!!!

No, I don't see that at all. I thought he was crystal clear about what he was conveying - whether it made sense to some of the playing group is the $64 question.. You have to remember the level of capability in the group. It's low and maybe what Neeld is trying to translate is too difficult to execute. The only thing that will aid this transistion is repetition. We can't just give Neeld the 24 H&A games to create some continuity. He needs more than that. At the same time though, he needs to put a stop to these hidings. Hold on to your seat, stuie. We're in for another rough ride this year. Let's hope come rd 23 we've got more wins on the board than last year and the new members players have got their act together.
-
I don't buy that, stuie. Grimes was absolutley embarrassed to be sitting there. He was in total disbelief as to what had just happened. Let's wait for them to be sitting there after a win (please) and you'll see a completely different dynamic again. You're convinced something is there to support your current disposition.

At least I can do it in one sentence.

Well done with over-reacting more than Magner.

If Nicholson is picked this weekend I will explode.

Watched the weekends game at a mates place who's Port supporter. His comment as we were all leaving was "you need another 5 or 6 Viney's." This was after I drank all his beer and kicked the crap out of his cat on the way out. Seriously, if the team can bring a similar effort to that of young Jack, we will be competitive.
