I liked what Balmey said about Geelongs trades. "We don't talk about them till they're done." MFC would do well to follow the same process.

If the Swans are prepared to part with a midfield gun and their first pick or a mid-range midfielder, I would nearly suggest they're declaring that they're unlikely to challenge for the flag next year. Unless of course they think Buddy is the missing link and will take them to the flag next year.

Bought a house, Mum moved to WA, Club sees leadership role etc... Surely these facts should put anything to do with Shuey to bed. Next.

That just adds to the obscurity of him not being picked up as an assistant in that time. Do you know if he's tried to break into the AFL before, Ralph?
-
Lot of love here for a SANFL coach that has never even had an AFL level assistant role. Granted that he's had some success at Norwood but to compare him against what's available in the way of Richardson, Burns and Dew is not thinking straight.

I live to see the day an AFL score line reads like that.

You don't want to give Hoges a turn first?

I can recall him saying something similar not long ago... Or am I imagining it?

State of Play - 3 October and beyond
McQueen replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
Jeez! Do we need another trade thread.? Prefer to just have to follow one. -
Obviously our best hopes rest with the Crows and Bombers. They need to get back into the ND one way or another and MFC seem to be the most prepared to part with draft selections for players. Our second round picks should get the likes of Myers an co but #2 can only be used on a star IMO.

It was reported two hours beforehand. Can't believe I had to explain that.

And posted 2 hours before yours in this very thread.

Roos said on the news I watched earlier that "Colin has done the best thing for himself." Whilst he made it sound a sincere remark, I also believe it was double-edged.

For this reason we should not forget about Dangerfield. He's my smokey in all of this.

Ah, a hypothetical reality.

Can this please be merged with the Successor thread.

If he leaves and ends up at Freo it will indeed be interesting to see how he performs. This notion put forward by media commentators that Col will be a better contributor when surrounded by a quality team is plausible and definitely adds a further amount of expectation on him. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if he's running around in the WAFL next year. If trading pick 2 delivers real value then I couldn't care less if he leaves.

You should check the punctuation rules around the use of quotation marks one day.
