  1. Decision making is slow and predictable. How many of our rebounds were cut off in that qtr? Heaps.
  2. There's a smidgen between "effectively" and "absolutely."
  3. In a sense, if we lose today it will provide a great relief by knowing our finals chances are effectively zero.
  4. Let me know when you find Utopia. The way the game is currently being played hardly affords the the type of player you have in mind. The relentless pressure and outnumber style is in vogue and will be for some time I reckon. Give me grunt and the ability to get it into the forward line any day of the week. Our greatest concern is the inefficient conversion from good entries into F50. I think we have enough class with Lewis, Hibberd and Salem right now without running out and paying overs for a silky player that struggles getting his hands dirty at the coal face.
  5. I tend to agree. He did quite a few mature things in last nights game - one in particular was when he set up a crucial goal in the last qtr with a great well-timed handball in heavy traffic. We've got fringe players in the way of Harmes, ANB, JKH, Bugg, Hannan, Wagner, Melksham and a couple of others rotating through the 22 at the moment. I understand this is how depth works and pressure on the 22 is kept up but I'd rather a player like Zak Jones in the team full time because he's got all of the tricks the aforementioned group have all bundled up in one.
  6. Paid downfield.
  7. Selwood drawing the high tackle by collapsing knees at the first sign of a tackle and the Ump pays it. FFS it's a joke.
  8. Hanley hasn't seen a pill even at NEAFL level for some time but he's rushed back in. No doubt we'll play him straight into form.
  9. I've been thinking about this and without going into any analysis, it would appear that based on the current W/L ratio and the evenness of the competition, it's going to be quite possible to finish with 13 or 14 wins and be jostling for a top 4 spot. 10 wins might even snag you eighth possie this year. One thing's for sure and that is that percentage is going to be really important this season and I'm glad that ours is reasonably healthy at the moment.
  10. The Suns are going nowhere fast. May will be 26 yrs old for season 2018 so he's got another ~6 years left in him. I think he'll want to play it back in Victoria, on the MCG in front of friends and family. And in red and blue.
  11. Jake Niall comes across as one of the most unconvincing reporters out there. That and he looks like he could star in a B grade Zombie movie.
  12. Full points for the thread title. Agree with all the critical sentiment above. I still have hope for Kent and believe he has all the tools to become a consistently damaging player. At the moment though he's not applying himself enough to reach that consistency but he's not on his lonesome. Which brings me to the coaching staff and particularly the development guys. It's time for them to earn their money and get thru to these blokes that are teetering on the edge of becoming a very handy player. Roos stated to Kent that he thought he was on the verge of breaking out at the start of of the 2015 season prior to getting that bad hammy. I haven't seen any noticeable progression from then until now. Just the same player offering glimpses of brilliance and hardness. He's plateaued and I think it's fair to lay a considerable amount of responsibility on the development staff as well as Dean himself.
  13. You've won me over.
  14. I doubt there's little more merit in it other than to appease us rabid supporters. The only way it can move forward is in front of the tribunal as with Viney and Lynch case but on this occasion, we're effectively calling the MRP out on their ridiculous inconsistency and I don't see how that will benefit the club in the future.
  15. After just reading the first page I was more confused than ever. If the AFL actually do try to abide by these guidelines/charter than they really do have NFI how to apply them but we all know that. Anyway, there's a few interesting items and regulations that I reckon as a club we could use to get Salem off the hook. Refer section 3, 3.1 H - Impact of a good record. I'd copy and paste in but Crapple iPhone isn't having any of it. How the AFL try to explain it (official document)
  16. Lever is handy but hardly the player many here seem to be moisting up over. He's of the size (regardless of his toughness) that will still get man-handled by the big KPF's just like Omac does. We need a big, strong, experienced and skillful KPD in the team.
  17. If ever there's a time for the video ref (the individual that adjudicates score reviews) to notify the field umpire and halt the game due to an incorrect call then these are the instances. "Umpire Nicholson, the Hibberd hand ball was actually smothered beyond your vision, please commence a boundary throw-in."
  18. If they actually do relegate Pedersen to Casey then I think we may not be playing to our merits.
  19. One thing's for sure and that is that Pedobear will remain in the team when we have a full time ruckman back. Weids must develop in the magoos.
