Kent hasn't played since Round 5....it's a long time out. I'd be giving him this match and the next to find something
-
West Coast are missing their top 3 players GC and one down on the bench early in the first
-
Should Haves........ Jones for an easy snap shot 30 out. Tracc from 40 doesn't make distance Weids should have at least scored from 35 out.... Tyson given an easy on the run goal from Clarry 2.2 goals (at least) gone by the wayside.....sees the score 62 / 34 ...nearly double their score...but instead they're still right in it
-
Tyson given a golden opportunity on a platter and kicks it straight to an Eagles player......did the same last week against the Swans..... GET HIM OFF!!!!!!!!!! LIABILITY
-
How are Tracc and ANB not able to make the distance from 40 meteres??
-
50 meters after the mark...ball knocked out of hand nothing!!!??????????????????????????????????
-
There is always one or two of these in every interstate match we've played....game changers
-
Beautiful fumbling work from Tracc there
-
Vanders!!!!
-
And so the BIAS begins! Both players clearly going for the contest no interference and WAMMM! Free kick to Eagles......then the ump says "Take your time....i'll set you up" !!!!!! WTF!?????? ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
-
Frosty and O-Mac looking good atm
-
Now that's how you do it from end to end.....run and roll and stay composed throughout
-
We are incapable of maintaining possession for decent periods of time during passages of play or a quarter other than maybe the first 15 minutes of a match
-
ANB Follows up with something just as shitty!!
-
Gus WTF was that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Last week against the Swans, potentially season defining match on the line, he had a major opportunity to stoke the fire during the half time break, keep them in the rooms and give them a huge pep talk. Fire them the [censored] up for a huge premiership quarter! Have them bust out onto the ground late just before the siren with the home crowd also firing them up on the way out the race....but instead went for the normal "routine" and sent the boys out early to do ground ball work and let out steam!??? Sometimes you just have to throw out the routine book in preference for fire and brimstone! Opportunity lost IMO and we were outplayed in the 3rd accordingly!!

Yes his game against the Hawks saw him kick 3 goals in the opening term and one of the few players to push back physically and take no nonsense against their bullying efforts (which in my opinion worked...and which others have done since...eg., Buddy last week on Fritschkreig....no one flew the flag back at him so it's still a worry!). Was looking ok before doing a hammy mid way through the match against the Tiges the following week. Personally from a physical / fight point of view, against tougher opponents i would have him in before the likes of Hannan/Jeffy (if we needed to choose) every time.

And our players on the wing last week were so slow they couldn't get to the contest before their opponents. So basically we were ok inside but smacked once it got out. Slow in the wings and running a player off the back who mostly doesn't impact either (ANB last week). All amounts to giving up your advantage in the middle and handing it to the opp on the outside once it escapes with a quick clearance out of congestion to their advantage. Goody had persisted with this all year. Seems to work ok against lessors lights but the better clubs (and even the lowly Saints) worked out how to exploit it months ago. What's the definition of insanity again!??

If only Chook! Pretty sure a top 8 spot would be locked in now if so

Very nice D4! Although we only get the Viney injection IF we make finals lol. And even then we really can't be certain. Agree Pedders, while poor last week, was better than anything Weids has produced so far i'm afraid. Even managed a goal which i can't recall Weids doing too often if at all in most matches. And although JKH's game wasn't great either i would argue it was better than anything Hannan produced in his last block so we'll agree to disagree on those two changes eh. At this stage i'm very non-plussed with what Goody has done in matches that we could / should have won (at least the odd close one....basically we've lost all of them)... but you are indicating some optimism with a few IFs ....i'm just not sure i want to bite anymore...

Personally i think Goody has been caught out asleep at the wheel (or just making poor positional decisions on the day) both in game far too often and in pre-match selections. A great example in the game last week was the continuation of Jones & Tyson on both wings for the majority of the match, even when it was clear Sydney had the speed (not hard against too of our slowest players across the ground) going both ways with Jones completely cooked on this front. Was being lead to the ball by his opponent on many occasions, the exception the last quarter where he appeared to be playing more of a HF role and managed to lose his opponent for a few more possessions closer to goal. The selections of Weids (who has has yet to fire a shot in 5 matches this year) for Pedders (who had his 2nd best game since Rnd 1...not great but a long way ahead of anything Weids has produced so far) and Hannan for JKH (who had his best game for the club last week and was a fair way ahead of Spargo / and a mile ahead of ANB) is just mind boggling. Unless the likes of Spargo, Maxy (who's been off the last few weeks), Jones, Weids, Hannan and ANB suddenly find their mojos and produce some outstanding performances (or in the case of Jones and Maxy back to their better form for the year) it's going to be a big ask over there. You need EVERYTHING going for you. And as usual, we have lost a number of games we should have won (the Saints game...easily!) and are now, seemingly, a bridge too far and a fair chance of missing finals....again. Having said that, IF we kick straight in front of goal AND the players listed above bring something decent, we do have a clear edge over the Eagles in most other aspects (goal umpiring bias aside).....

Hogan 2018 season over with foot injury
Demon Dynasty replied to Lord Ivanhoe's topic in Melbourne Demons
Just go with T-Mac and a medium/small forward line. As unfortunate as Hulk's injury is, sometimes things happen for a reason. The impending return of Melksham and and an available Kent kicking a few goals on the weekend might be just the tonic we need to get over the Eagles & the Greater Western Circus and secure a finals berth. -

I dont think either of them are viable key forward option at this point unfortunately. Decoys for T-Mac at best -
I agree with that. We need a hypnotist for the belief factor. Apart from Hogan who needs a whole new set shot method / process, and plenty of practice at it!
