  1. Game over if we dont score next 4
  2. Sounds like they've had everything go their way also which is expected over there
  3. Very early days folks and Eagles are front runners.... going for the kill early
  4. The AFL will be pushing hard for an interstate club into the GF. Not expecting anything but a landslide of umpiring decisions the Eagles way...and very little for us
  5. Not sure if I have a dose of Dehli Belly or just nervous as hell
  6. Listening to this one from Agra India ....sipping on a few Turgors in the hotel bar overlooking the mighty Taj
  7. With Degoey and Treloar both in they look super dangerous and should win this one.
  8. The work rate to push up on the Hawks after they chipped it around and force them lateral or down the line, as well as the ferocious tackling, was phenomenal. Great team effort. We are a huge chance to beat WCE and move into a GF next week provided we remain focused. Great win and team effort. 2 more to go
  9. Common Demons. Get the job done boys!
  10. Common Demons. Get the job done boys!
  11. ...something like that! As long as Maxy kicks accurately!
  12. I run a composite series of weighted average stats through a spreadsheet bandi for both teams. Stats are compiled from their last round performance on every player who played (courtesy of Footywire). I adust where I can for ins and outs wherever possible for the forthcoming round's match up. Each individual player has his own composite weighted average score from the previous week assuming he remains in the squad for the current round. In the case of MFC "Ins" they have a season average weighted score which is a fairly accurate reflection of how they are likely to fair if being called up to replace an omission from the previous week (whether because of form or injury). I then compose the total score from the previous week for the entire team using exactly the same method for each player/ team to give a total team weighted score, which then indicates/predicts the likely winner / loser. Apart from the inputs and weightings the result is entirely objective with an 83% predictive accuracy so far in MFC games since Rnd 11. Hope that makes a lil sense
  13. Looks that way Buck. Hopefully in our favour this time
  14. Pure Stats Form Guide & Predictor Team Form Comparison (team score last round adjusted for Ins/) Demons: 76.7 Cats: 78.1 Team Differential: Cats +1.4 Pure Stats Predictor: Pure Stats (no umpire Bias) - The Cats by 3 points The above includes the Ins of Viney & Hannan for the Outs of Tyson & Kent (injured). The Cats will no doubt make a few changes also but i don't have the time to adjust by Friday night so this could tip the results a little also. Predictor also unlikely to be as accurate given the 2 week break effect on form. However, it is a little hard to ignore having so far predicted 10 of the 12 W/L results with an accuracy factor of 83% Last Round Statistical Comparison *Does NOT Include this weeks Ins & Outs. Cats obviously have a major top end experience advantage. Our 10 players in the 50 to 99 range will have to perform at their best to offset this. We did of course play 2 teams at opposite ends of the ladder also which is likely to have skewed both results statistically. Top 10 Players Comparison (Last Round)# # Scores do not account for ruckmen's 'Hit Outs to Advantage'
  15. Same bb...always a reliable alternative ....this is some pasting!
  16. Was that Rotugolea off with another leg injury?
  17. DD you can hardly expect channel 7 to broadcast a lowsey VFL final match when it only has 3 channels available and they are all covering the same 1st group one horse racing event!!!
  18. I'm so sick of all the positivity around here lately!
  19. This was one of the great statement games by any MFC player IMO and a line in the sand moment for Bernie and the club that we were no longer just going to sit back and allow players/teams to roll us in an easy fashion. A great replacement for Sylvia (who pulled this off at the club in 2013...Todd??) and couldn't have been a bigger contrast in selfish v selfless in the way these two went about it. Paul Roos must have been well pleased with this acquisition and the response he was able to garner. Although this year saw the game move past him a tad (as it does to every athlete at some point) you will be sorely missed mate. Let's hope you get one more shot at finals should the cards fall your way. Superb job both on and off the field. Take a bow Bernie ??????
  20. That would be a fabulous fairy tale finish. A great guy, a great club man and a super footballer for us during some very dark days. One of my all time favs as he flew the flag when he could've sat back and just eaten the chocolates. Showed white line fever every time he ran out in the red & blue. IMHO he was the glue that held the team together during the dark days along with Chunk and Crossy
  21. Player Season Rankings (inclusive of Rnd 23) Based on a statistical composite of selective weighted averages. Includes the following statistical averages: Effective Disposals, Contested Marks, Marks i50, 1 %ers , Clearances, Rebound 50s, inside 50s, Tackles, Score involvements, Intercepts, Goals and a reasonable negative adjustment for turnovers. A long way off perfect and no doubt plenty of flaws but a roughish guide as to how a player is sitting vs those around him when comparing like with like (similar role / position), where possible. For Maxy a rough adjustment is required to bring him up to spec overall with "hit outs to advantage" not included. Lets say 0.75 as a very rough stab in the dark. Puts him on 4.045 in 3rd position behind Clarry & Jack. Also i did not include Tyson or Kent's Rnd 23 score as i felt it would skew their results a little too much given how early they departed the match and fewer games played vs most others. 22. It's been a mighty long since I've witnessed a decent Demon crowd vs an interstater outside of finals. Wait ...that was also a mighty long time ago! I gave my freebies to a few demons who were about to buy tickets at the public ticket office outside Gate 4 pre match. Stupid lost track of time waiting to give them though and only just got to his own seat, alongside bro, with 30 seconds to spare!
  23. That's probably the first game I've seen the Weid look "on" for pretty much the entire match (live). He looked very much at home as an AFL footballer. The "Weid Weid" chant that went around the ground after he took a bit of a speckie over the back at one point must have been a huge confidence booster and was a fantastic moment yesterday.
  24. CAMP CHAOS might be a more appropriate headline
