Probably only have Smithy contest against Grundy when Big M / Cox are resting Poita. No point contesting against Cox. Just run an extra number (Smithy/Hulk) at the ball up to contest at ground level and try to halve the contested ball / clearances. Along with Smithy competing directly, we also appeared to use that "no designated" extra around the pill strategy a few times against the Crows i believe.

If that is the case then our number was up at exactly the same time and maybe many other Demon faithful also. Maybe the whole Trump / Kim Jong happy fest actually took place 5 weeks ago but turned completely sour and the world as we knew it ended in a mass of mushroom clouds!

But there's other stats that tell a bit of the counter side Mono if you drill down a little. 11 score involvements (equal 2nd on the day) and 20 effectives running at 83.3% DE. Stats can certainly lie but they can also highlight some key (selective) aspects at times giving a rough guide on form.

Adding a token 0.75 to Maxy's result for example, would provide a more accurate picture of where he would likely be sitting if one was able to include the stat and somehow make it relative to the other scores. That would put his score at approx 3.94 just behind Viney and technically at No.2 if you excluded Viney from the count having played only 2 matches so far vs 10 for Big Maxy.
