Easily our worst quarter of footy for the season. No willingness to run both ways from some or even close down space in the zone. Zero connection between the followers. Just awful. If not for Fritta we'd be down by 3 goals to a team that hasn't won a game.

With Thommo gone for the season...is it too early to swing TMac into his role to get some defensive practice / mind set happening and Weid comes straight in from next week to take over his forward role?

Just out of interest, statistically Jones & Sparrow are pretty much level pegging this season. Obviously a few more years ahead of Sparrow though.

I like. The recovery / rest and maybe half a game makes complete rest. Experience galore as well and knows how to carry out almost any role required. As you say he'll come on fresh and can go all out in a shortened game (for him) if he does get subbed.

Very much an outside mid. We are still short one decent mid IMV. Imagine if we went into a big final and one of the big three didn't get up. Melk to a wing (two way tank??) while Gus is playing a bit more mid time?

I hear you RBG. I guess i was just making the point that we look at what's ahead step by step if/when we arrive at the next level. There are advantages to top two for sure but there's so much work ahead before setting ourselves for that as well as about 14 other clubs seeing themselves as a chance of still making a fist of it if things go their way. We also need some continuing luck with injuries. Pretty much a full list to choose from atm which is always a handy leg up.

Yep i recall going to the match where we got there at the G with a crazy Demon supporter from my kids school (a rare random Demon supporter at that point). Was it against the Blues? I know i was sitting up the top of southern stand flank and seem to recall Neita went alright. Random Demon friend literally cried in disbelief after the final siren and the AFL ladder went up on the big screen. Then i cried every week for the next 5!
