In every big match bar a couple of finals when the team was on a downhill run he has rarely stood up and kicked important goals when we are behind and under the pump. He's a mark and miss player when we aren't in front on the trot (little spotlight/pressure. Kicking brain goes to jelly.
-
he was pantsed in that 2nd half
-
yep that too....what a stupid place to lead to. Always one step away from being a decent team. We just dont get it at so many levels and always leave too much to too few against the rated clubs
-
wtf Hannon why would you go there!!????? Go back and wait for a lead up target or hit the hot zone with a finger breaker. SHOCKING DECISION
-
May beaten by a junior in the marking contest twice in 10 minutes! Very poor stuff needed to kill that
-
Leave Gus on he's been cleanish today with limited time. OMG same tackle as the one on Lever but they get it. [censored] off!
-
Common boys. That was gritty stuff. JACKSON AND MELK woot!!!
-
dangerous tackle!!!???

May should not be losing that contest of strength with the size difference. Lockhart has done ok tonight. Kicking a bit dodgy on occasions.
-
Clarry's got to get that trick stuff out of his [censored] game and just play the percentages. Thank Lucifer for Jack. O-Mac is done. Can't play out 4 quarters.
-
For sure
-
Omg...a crumb for a goal!! Amazing. First time for the match?
-
Im a big fan but Harmes has been bog ordinary. How was that not incorrect disposal by Charlie. What a [censored] of a game the umps are having tonight. Drinking their own AFL bathwater.
-
STILL no genuine key tall forwards that are reliable kicks at goal. It's time to bring Brown in for 3 matches or so for Weid. If that fails then its time to ask Tomlinson to earn his keep in place of May and send May forward for the final experiment before cleaning out our Key Tall stocks at end of season.
-
Sorry but Weid just doesn't like the pressure when kicking with a deficit. STILL a downhill skier. When the going gets tough his kicking goes to water.
-
weid MUST kick this to justify his spot
-
Well there's the difference. We miss from 20 and Charlie hits it clean from 25
-
we can't get clean first possessions in the center bounces. So many fumbled attempts that turnover straight to the opp who then pick up clean much of the time and hit their man with the first disposal by hand. Also how many times have we not pushed back far enough behind the man on the mark and had the kick touched? Amateur stuff and much of it by experienced players. If we clean much of the rubbish first possessions up and eliminate the amateur hour idiocy we might get back in this.

Gosh some of our boys go so cold with skills, intensity and focus once the wick is turned up.
-
Their general field kicking and work rate to get off their opponent is better than ours after quarter time.

Gritty gutsy win by the Saints. Bit of class there also with Clarke, Hill & Butler running around. King and Membury up front doing well. Back 6 holding up also. They have a solid mix. Tackling's a little off at times and a few inexperienced fellas letting em down with disposal on occasions but aside from that not too shabby indeed.

Definitely. Melk is a weakish link in this team right now imv and needs to take it up a notch if he's to retain a spot in the 22. Would rather see a youngster like Bedford given an opportunity or possibly Brown for a decent block if he doesn't. Keep the pressure on and performances on the up from all 22, making it difficult for the next rung of players down but also giving them a sniff of opportunity if someone drops the ball over a reasonable block of games. Jones up forward and Melk to a wing.... Jones couldn't do much worse than Melk's game most weaks at this point and it avoids Jones having to connect too often coming inside 50 where he often struggles and we see some ordinary turnovers and sling shot rebounds.

Current Team Potentially Best in 50 Years
Demon Dynasty replied to Dees2014's topic in Melbourne Demons
Dees i respect your right to get a little excited but i have heard many false dawn announcements (roughly about 5) in the last 50 years and not just from supporters. The ones i'm referring to were ex players jumping on the media after we've won a block of games and moved into the top five (back in the day) or the top eight that we have now. Usually involving some romantic reminiscing of glory days gone by and comparisons of this team vs that great era team etc. Unfortunately nothing came of it and instead, after any such announcement (publicly via media interview / statement), the club would generally start to nose dive into a death spiral shortly thereafter.
