  1. People talk a lot of [censored] on this site, ay
  2. Agree with that. I think it was in the last quarter where he saw an opportunity to intercept an Adelaide kick and really went hard at the contest, to create the loose ball. I don't think he is soft, and IMHO what he really needs is one really good breakout game to shake some confidence into him. Please don't forget that to date, he has played in ONE win. Generally, when we lose, our forwards get little or no delivery, so honestly, what can you expect from him? He had just one less mark than Bate today, and like Bate, all of them were uncontested. The difference was that Bate played very close to goal, so was able to create some scoring opportunities, but probably the best goal of the day came from a Jack Watts pass to Brent Moloney. So really, give it a rest.
  3. The kid didn't want to nominate for the draft at one point because he thought he might get drafted by West Coast. Doubt he's going anywhere.
  4. Easier to Goggle an appropriate picture than argue with people who clearly just enjoy getting themselves into a frenzied panic everytime we lose. We are going to lose, we are going to play like crap. It's part of the development of a young team. It's irritating to watch us serve [censored], but it doesn't mean that Warnock is now a hack because his opponent enjoyed silver service thanks to zero midfield pressure. It also doesn't mean that Bailey is a dud coach when 2 weeks ago he dragged us from certain defeat to a draw against a top 3 team. The schizophrenic nature of some of the posters here is astounding.
  5. You're right, we are terrible, we'll continue to be terrible, and we should just give up now.
  6. 3 reasons why I'm really not worried 1- Scully, Trengove, McKenzie, Gysberts, Morton, Blease, Tapscot 2- Frawley, Garland, Grimes, Jurrah, Watts, GAWN, Fitzpatrick 3- 2014 is still 4 pre-season away
  7. I'm all for burning down AAMI Stadium... it means we're 2 wins ahead every year
  8. Please god no PJ. Say yes to Spencer, say no to PJ. In: Junior, Sylvia, Gysberts Out: MacDonald/ Rivers, Miller, Jetta I can't bring myself to drop anyone just to bring in some help for Jamar, when in reality our back up options are terrible and/or not ready to make an impact at the top level.
  9. One day I'll fly to Mars, when that day comes we'll win a first quarter and beat a team at AAMI Stadium... it might be a SANFL team, it might be a Little League game, but by god I will see us win in South Australia again before I die.
  10. I gave him a vote for putting his body on the line time and time again and actually having a go. Finding 6 players who deserved votes though was a struggle. It was a toss up between him and Dunn, but Dunn has so many brainfarts each week that I can't bring myself to reward him. He makes my blood boil after 6 years in the system.
  11. Jack Grimes has played about 20 games, and if his current form is any indication, he will be a star by the time he reaches 50 games. He is number 198 on our list of problems.
  12. The sticking of the boot into Watts has been done to death. We would never discuss how much any of our players should earn, and nor should we. We have a list manager for that, and all we should care about is that he is signed and continues to develop. FFS, he has played less than 10 games, and he is struggling. He needs to become more physical and demand the ball more, but he has talent coming out of his behind. Deal with it and move the hell on. There is NOTHING productive about these Jack Watts subtle, and sometimes not so subtle, bashing threads.
  13. Today's midfield performance was like 2007 all over again. It showed our unhealthy reliance on Moloney and Jones, who are both good at getting the ball inside but useless as outside players, so when the game is going against them at the clearances they become redundant. We also missed Junior badly and Gysberts' ability to win the inside ball (terrible selection decision IMO). It was the worst, softest, most pathetic midfield performance I've seen from Melbourne in 2 years, easily. Some of that can be contributed to the fact that once Moloney and Jones were shut out of the game, we were relying on kids who are not ready to take on a developed Adelaide midfield, and some of that can be contributed to a general lack of intensity at the contest, which is NEVER excusable, no matter how young your team is.
  14. 6- Bate 5- Scully 4- McKenzie 3- Frawley 2- Garland 1- Grimes Our midfield performance made me sick today. At least Scully and McKenzie showed some fight!
  15. Our run of victories in the premiership quarter continues. Shame about the other 3 quarters. I wonder what we'd be like if we played 4 good quarters a match. It seems unthinkable.
  16. Even at half time I'm sure they'd find ways to turn it over
  17. Bring back Alistair Nicholson. After all, we haven't won a game at AAMI Stadium since he retired. Seriously, I love you Melbourne, but get f'ed with this AAMI Stadium garbage. It's a ground, it has grass, and goal posts, and a centre circle. The bogans are off putting, sure, but they never seem to bother you when we play at the MCG against Collingwood.
  18. Adelaide must be cackling like evil madmen in the box, when they see us use Bruce as a linkman out of defense. The age old debate of To Jamar Alone or Not To Jamar Alone shall resume this week. Can't wait for Paul Johnson next week
  19. 3 years of pure, unadulterated rubbish, but at least we got some reward for it. This year we get nothing, absolutely nothing, for being embarrassingly pathetic against a team that has been nothing short of terrible this season.
  20. Thank god for Grimes. He is the only thing keeping me from ripping the TV off the wall and throwing it out the window.
  21. I don't buy the "we are not good enough" excuse anymore, because a team doesn't come out and draw with Collingwood if they are not good enough. We are not just switched on, period. And for as long as we use Bruce and Bartram to deliver the ball out of the backline, we'll continue to lose with horrible, embarrassing turnovers. Oh and Adelaide have worked out how to ruin the Jamar/Moloney ruck rover combo and so now we are screwed.
