I hope we play at our best, no, I hope we play the best we've ever played. That way we might only lose by 10 goals. All I'm realistically looking for on Saturday is a good showing from our backline, and for our forwards to convert every opportunity they gets, because I know our midfield is going to get smashed to pieces.

They'll all be nice and fresh to smash Carlton, and that's the only thing that matters. These guys were no doubt due for a rest so better this week then in a game we can realistically win.

I really hope it's similar to this logo. I used it extensively when I designed the merchandise range, because to me it was beautiful, traditional and quite interesting without having that tackiness factor.

Yep, since I can't make it to the game due to a work commitment earlier in the morning, I will just switch off all electronic devices at 2:10 and pretend the game is live when it starts on TV at 3:00. The last time I did that with a Geelong game was the day we won by one point down at Kardinia Park, so who knows, I might be tattooing myself afterall B)

If we weren't playing the mortal enemy that is Carlton next week, in what should be a winnable game for us, I would agree. But we need Beamer to defeat possibly the greatest evil in the AFL... CFC.

Each week I realise more and more that if it wasn't for my intense love of the MFC, I would loath this competition and never ever watch another game. If we win, it might almost be worth deforming myself forever and having to explain to people why I love fruit juice so much that I felt the urge to tattoo it on my body.

I'd be thrilled if we lose by less than 6 goals. That would be a seriously good effort. The only way we can win is if Ablett, Scarlett, Bartel and Selwood get injured in the warm up.... Bail-style.

As I said before, the coaches are all fighting over him and want him in their part of the ground. To me, his time in the backline is a learning experience and eventually he should settle into a CHF position, where he can push up the ground and impact the contest on the wing. He is the prototype modern CHF... given or take 30kgs. This will free Bate to play a true third tall role, with Jurrah doing whatever the hell he wants, because he is Jurrah and so we let him.

With the sort of domination we are seeing from Naitanui, with a 9 disposal game today, surely he has the Rising Star award all stitched up. I mean who could possibly better 9 touches and 67% efficiency? I have zero concerns with Cale Morton. The guy has class running through his veins, and has grown significantly over the last 2 years. I've heard that the coaches fight over him, because each one wants him in their area (forward, middle and defense), but I think long term he could be a great CHF for us. Some of his kicking into the 50 last night had Davey written all over them. You don't buy skills like that at the supermarket people. I know first hand what knee injuries are like, and I thought he made a successful return yesterday given the conditions.

My friend was at the G last night and said the result was well known for a while and they were so bored that whenever they showed our scores up on the big screen there was a huge cheer for Melbourne!

People want Bartram out, but think of who we are playing next week. You take out Bartram and who plays on Burns, Stokes and Varcoe? They have plenty of smalls who can hurt us... well they have 22 players who will hurt us, but Bartram is our best small defensive option right now. I'd have Garland on Pods, Warnock on Mooney and Frawley on Steve Johnson. Bartram takes Burns and you can have MacDonald on Varcoe and Grimes on Stokes. Rivers will have no match up next week as far as I can see, because all of Geelong's forward will kill him on the lead.
