  1. It's wet. Already we are overusing it. Smart. Learning fast. Love it.
  2. I'm really excited to see this diamond defence let Kennedy kick 12 goals today. Pumped!
  3. Looks like it's raining. Might help reduce the demolishing coming up.
  4. I'm just glad I have plans to drown my sorrows post match. This is gonna get ugly!
  5. I think we can both agree on one thing: neither Dunn not Dawes are part of our future and both are bad plugs to a big gaping hole
  6. I disagree. Dunn can take a mark, can kick a good goal, he isn't perfect but by god I can't watch Dawes and his Titanic like movements spud it up anymore! Dunn is not getting a game in the backline, this could be his chance for reinvention.
  7. Why don't they give Dunn a try up forward? Can he really be worse than ol' concrete hands Dawes? Gees!
  8. Good to see Salem is available!
  9. And also with teammates not handballing to him under pressure
  10. St Kilda elimination final... You know, that time we actually beat St Kilda!
  11. I definitely think we need to draft another ruck. Gawn is good enough to play up forward in a resting role, so playing more of the Dawes role (but better). Problem is, he can't do that due to lack of support. We also need an insurance policy. If he gets injured, we are done!
  12. Disagree. We have Hogan and TMac out of contract, and a very young list that we need to balance to ensure we can keep the group together. I can't imagine the contract Gawn will demand next time around, or Petracca, Oliver, Brayshaw... etc
  13. I don't think we have a mediocre list necessarily, but we are still a very ordinary middle of the road team. We have plenty of potential, but I'm not sure that potential is better than an extra $200k in the pocket (reportedly Richmond are offering him $700k?!). If Prestia feels a sentimental pull to the club, that is great and I would welcome him with open arms. I think he is a good player, and we need as many of those as we can get. Whether he picks us, I'm not convinced.
  14. We should win 10. If we don't beat CG and Carlton at home, then really it just shows that we haven't mentally improved enough. Statistically we are miles ahead of last year, and we have shown a lot of promise at times this season, but we have to start beating teams that are at our level or below us on a very regular basis, since we can't beat anyone better than us at the moment. Anything less than 10 wins to me is a failure.
  15. If the choice came down to 2 mediocre playing lists, I would choose the mediocre playing list that would pay me more. Richmond would have more cash to spend, and seem desperate enough to throw it away just to say they landed someone. They are stupid that way.
  16. What if Sydney can offer him $700k? He is worth what the market will pay, and to me a very good KPD, with plenty of potential and scope for improvement (he is still so young), is worth a lot. There are lots of teams desperate for defenders. Hurley will command $800k a year easily. McDonald is younger and hasn't spent a year out of the game. McDonald is probably worth around $500k per year, but I would rather pay him overs, than spend the next 10 years saying we didn't win a final because we don't have good enough defenders.
  17. Our best has gotten a lot better. Our worst is still terrible. We play in worst mode as often as we play in best mode. We absolutely lack outside polish and run, yet we keep drafting inside mids (e.g.- Oliver). We absolutely need to find some jets who can use the footy, and give us more of that outside run. That is why Hunt has been so good for us this year. Having said all that, yesterday I watched Reiwoldt take a mark on the wing against McDonald. 35 seconds later he took an uncontested mark in the square and kicked a goal. He ran, at age 34 (?) harder, faster and with more intent that his opponent who is 10 years his junior. When we are on we don't look slow. When our midfield is on top in the clearances our forwardline is exceptionally potent. When we are allowed the quick switch, we look as good as any team out there. It's when the pressure is on, that we turn to jelly, and given we lack experience, polish and solid leadership, we don't know how to cope under physical or mental pressure. P.S.- I hope everyone sooking it up about the NT deal are a full 17 game member who attend every home game, otherwise, you have no right to complain.
  18. I find it interesting that Rawlings is the only surviving coach from previous administrations. He must have done something right. Our defence was rock solid the last couple of years, and got us through some tough times. Then we lost Frawley, Dunn and Garland are struggling, and we have changed the way we play this year from defence first, to an attacking mindset. Put all this together, throw in key injuries to Salem, Lumumba plus Melksham being ruled out of play, add some really inexperienced players in Hunt (who has been excellent mind you), Wagner, OMac and Frost, and you get a defence that is struggling. This is a new defence, and frankly it worries me. Not enough brute strength, not enough solid one on one defenders, only one experienced tall, the best user of the ball has a thyroid issue, and the rest have played 10 games together. It's little wonder we're chasing Hurley and Hibberd, when Jetta is our most in-form defender. Frawley's loss has been massive, and we have failed to cover that loss.
  19. I am not sure why people are complaining about Brayshaw. I thought for a kid coming back from injury, playing what, his 20th match, he was very good. To say he has no awareness is [censored]! As for Vanders, he has been near useless this season. Not sure what his deal is but he isn't contributing enough to justify his position in the side. ABN should be getting a game this week in his place.
  20. We have to bring in one of Garland or Dunn. They might not be fashionable and Roos might hate them because he didn't draft them, but West Coast is an experienced team with a killer forward line. Somehow I don't trust White, Wagner and Frost to hold the defence down. Especially with the two McDonald brothers being in ordinary form/being way under developed
  21. Yep, let's ruin the career of another young promising player by giving them the unnecessary pressure of captaining a crap team.
