  1. It really doesn’t matter what you pay for a player, if they end up fulfilling the role you recruited them for. Lever is a genuine A grade defender and we have built an entire team around him and May. Sometimes you have to pay overs to get what you need, because it’s a hard find, and sometimes you get really lucky and pay unders like we did with Langdon. Swings and roundabouts.
  2. I bet that Melbourne is working to extend the contracts of both Trac and Jackson as we speak. I know they are signed until the end of next year, but that will come around very quickly, and if we are to target someone like Merrett in the off season, we need to re-sign as many of our top players as we can so we can assess where our salary cap is at.
  3. I guess that is good news for our Tassie fans (all 3 of you? haha) Hope we can finally find a win at the wind tunnel.
  4. Good news. Trac next. Edit: And Jackson
  5. Yeah I loved the umpire saying to Tom: "You hit him in the head" and Tom goes: "Yeah I know" ?
  6. Good luck to him. I still think leaving Melbourne was the worst possible career and personal move he could have made. But it is his life, and I wish him all the best.
  7. Of course it is better for us to play at Marvel. Firstly we play better there, secondly good preparation for our big game there against the Dogs. Less travel, no weather to contend with. It would be a big advantage to us.
  8. Correct. Richmond had a golden run in all their premiership years. Nobody can really win a flag with injuries to their key players. I reckon the Dogs last flag, was probably the most impressive in terms of the injuries they had throughout that year. Winning a premiership is as much about luck as it is about talent.
  9. Don’t mention good seats at the G this season. I’m glad we can attend, but the joke of not being able to use my $700 a year chair... Oh boy... I rage!
  10. The jinxing is killing me
  11. Trac may not be the most polished media performer, but at least he’s great at his day job. What the [censored] is Robbo’s excuse?
  12. His goal kicking is woeful. In general our goal kicking is not the best. Definitely one big area where we can improve across the board.
  13. It was definitely 11am Tuesday when I checked yesterday. Interesting.
  14. These stats are getting more useless and ridiculous by the minute.
  15. Surely they'll need to make a call soon, as tickets go on sale at 10am tomorrow and it looks like members of that ground are already able to purchase tickets.
  16. While I agree that Brown for Jones is the best net outcome in terms of quality/output, I can't see them dropping Jones straight after his 300th game. The optics are bad on this one, unless he is sore and they can say he is being ''managed".
  17. The Kosi issue is such a non issue, I can't believe anyone is turning it into an issue. Replace Kosi with, I dunno, Dusty, and nobody even mentions it. Besides, you have no idea what was said. The all in melee suggests that some less than kind words were thrown at Kosi.
  18. The media is 100% inconsequential to our performances, yesterday, today and tomorrow. I for one am happy we are still not being rated as highly as the Dogs, although we have beaten better side than they have. The less pressure is on us to perform by the clowns who call themselves footy experts, the better. We will eventually drop a game we should win, just like we have won a game not many expected us to win, and the criticism will come thick and fast. That is how fickle the footy media is. Just as they still rate Richmond a chance to win the flag, and are all certain they'll make the top 4. It takes a long time for these so called experts to change their tune for better or worse.
  19. Players playing as a team not as highly talented individuals, and everyone buying into the defensive stuff and the two way running. So it’s not left to too few to carry the load, which is unsustainable.
  20. Crowds are also down because the process of getting a ticket is a pain. Lots of older people would not know how to get a ticket. Hell Ticketek is a hot mess even for the most technologically savvy. Given we have to scan a QR code, I don’t get why people can’t come and get a ticket on the day. Leave a section just for that and so everyone sits in that area for the purpose of contact tracing And don’t get me started on the epic stupidity of not letting reserved seat members use their bloody seats. What’s easier to contact trace than that?! ?
  21. He must play this week. This is a danger game. Make no mistake. The exact sort of game that a team sitting pretty at 6-0 would not take seriously and drop. Especially at that weird ground with the weird wind tunnels. A fresh and hungry Ben Brown could turn this. On a side note, when will the AFL stop shafting us and send us to play at these dumps? Tassie. Geelong. Just a joke.
  22. Yep. Aged about as well as Grundy’s 7 year contract. Lol.
  23. Rivers is good mates with Jones. I knew he would attend. Bloody rich of those turncoat defectors Howe and Frawley to turn up. Couple of wankers.
  24. To be fair, as far as stereotypes go, we got it pretty good. Rich, educated, well travelled. It could be worse. Will you ever stop thinking of Pies fans as toothless criminals? Because that’s a far worse stereotype to not be able to shake.
