  1. Hardly the point. The point is that we were told not to gather in large groups. I chose to listen and follow the rules. Many didn’t and yes we are lucky to have low case numbers from the protests, but people not listening and not doing the right thing is exactly why we are seeing a second wave. It could have easily happened as a result of the protests.
  2. Please don’t start with this. I chose to stay home because it was the SAFE thing to do in the midst of a global pandemic. There are other ways to oppose and fight against racism. Given the current increase in cases, a big gathering like that was unwise and dangerous.
  3. I’m wondering if we are trying to get game time into as many players as we can given no VFL. The more “match fit” players we have the better we will be able to cope with potentially playing more games in a shorter time frame, not to mention when injuries inevitably hit.
  4. You can't tell people who have suffered decades of persecution for their race, ethnicity, gender or religious beliefs to just 'get over it'. Getting over it implies that the people being targeted are the ones in the wrong. They are not. Would you tell a holocaust survivor to 'get over it and move on'? How about a rape victim? A family who lost a child? A war veteran with PTSD? It is not up to us to decide when someone should get over it. It is up to us to ensure there is nothing to get over by stamping out and calling out pathetic racist behaviour.
  5. The internet has done a lot of good for the world. But equally it has given a voice to every uneducated, ignorant [censored] with a keyboard.
  6. Given we didn't play last week and will already be a little underdone, and playing at the big ground like the MCG, it makes perfect sense not to play Bennell. We can't afford to carry too many underdone players.
  7. In hindsight, playing that game in Perth in round one has been a blessing. No hub for us and especially now crowds are welcomed back in WA.
  8. I wish I could afford to donate. I applaud anyone who can and has.
  9. The back to back interstate games off a 6 day break is what really ticks me off. Only Melbourne would get bent over this way. We couldn’t be a bigger afterthought for the AFL if we tried.
  10. We have to have 8 home games at the G as part of the financial deal, so that means 7 games at the G left after round 7.
  11. Lol this is a joke. 3 interstate games in 6 rounds. One home game all year thus far. And back to back interstate games. We better get a dream MCG home game run in the lead to finals.
  12. Yep. Funny how the teams who are losing up there are having a sook, while nothing from Port....
  13. Poor Hore, how you tear a quad muscle while in the gym?! Crap luck. Not ideal about Petty, but this year is a right off anyway, so hopefully the surgery can fix the issue for the long term.
  14. Also this game was meant to be televised on FTA, which means both Channel 7 and Foxtel would need this game to be made up as part of the TV rights deal. No chance it won't go ahead. It needs to be rescheduled and I assume it will happen either during the quarantine period for the WA hub, or later on in the year when other games are postponed etc.
  15. Still not a single cluster from the protests. Isolated cases only. The debacle are the stupid [censored] who knew they had the virus and still went to visit family. Those are the big clusters now that have spread across Melbourne. Apparently one family had a 100 person party with infected family members. Absolute f’ing stupidity. Should be named, shamed, and thrown in jail for 14 days.
  16. It’s a risk. But equally it’s a big risk to separate the line groups and risk lack of cohesion and an inability to practice position specific tactics. I don’t know how you do that. If anyone tests positive at the club, we would be compromised significantly regardless.
  17. Honestly winning this year would be harder than almost any other year in history. While the draw is compromised (when is it not?), this will also be the first time in a long time where each team plays each other once, thus making it more even. Given the nature of this season, this would be a massive mental victory for whoever manages to win, and I would take nothing away from the premiers. Nor would I be happy to put a question mark next to our name, if we won it.
  18. Work is considered essential travel if you can’t work from home. AFL is a job and is the livelihood of thousands. I believe Harmes lives in the Casey area, but given the current restrictions AFL players SHOULD adhere to, they shouldn’t be out in the community so it’s irrelevant.
  19. As per usual our club is scared to do anything but pull the company line. I want someone to come out and say we are sick of losing out because of other clubs doing the wrong thing.
  20. If you take the premiership away clubs have nothing to play for. And sadly the competition won’t survive financially if we don’t have a season this year, no matter how compromised.
  21. Seriously if this guy breached the rules and our club doesn’t go demanding the 4 points, I will be furious. If this happened to Collingwood Eddie would be screaming blue murder. Completely unfair!
  22. [censored] this season. I hope we get thru today with no injuries. Although knowing our luck....
  23. Annoying for us, as in essence we have done nothing wrong and it will end up biting us in the [censored] as we will need to jam this game in somewhere later in the year off a short break or play another game off a short break which disadvantages us. I know it’s nobody’s fault, but why this always happens to us is beyond me. We are damn cursed. Cannot catch a break.
