  1. That man is more unhinged than I'd imagine.
  2. It's a clash jumper, you're not being forced to wear it to a Hollywood premier people! You'll see it 3-4 times a year and you won't give a crap what we're wearing as long as we win. If wearing fluro pink helped us win a flag, I'd be all for it. Nobody's clash jumper is any good. Either it looks too similar to the normal jumper (see Essendon), or it's altogether ridiculous. At least you can still associate Melbourne with that jumper. It's a bit boring, but it's not the end of the world. And as I said, silver is distinct. Using any other colour with red and blue (unless something hideous like green), would make our jumper too similar to other clubs'.
  3. The jumper is actually not bad, and the block use of a neutral silver colour, is good. The thing that bothers me is that the design is not balanced. Garments that are flattering, work on an equal top to bottom ratio. The fact that the bottom part of the jumper is so busy, will IMO be very distracting. But I understand that they wanted to still incorporate our usual jumper into it, so from that point of view they did well. I wonder if they hired a design company to come up with this jumper. Anyone know?
  4. Anyone seen the new website banner? http://www.melbournefc.com.au/ Great to see Jonesy and Brocky representing the club. That blood looking thing on the right hand side is a bit disturbing, someone obviously got a bit happy with Photoshop
  5. Neita in a mentor role, with a 3 men leadership group: - Junior - Green - Brock This will give us a wide spread of leaders that will appeal to a variety of age groups within the club, while still maintaining a small enough group to ensure unity and continuity. To complement this group, I would also like to see a "young leaders" group that will consist of 5 or 6 kids being groomed into a leadership role, and given the extra responsibility of mentoring the new draftees. With a whole new coaching approach, I think 2007 can be a transitional year for our leaders and leadership styles. (Ugh, I really need to stop studying marketing!)
  6. The lesson is, ring the club in the morning and ask whether training has been moved. I drive past Junction nearly every day, and half the time the place is abandoned, or you'll see the players training at very obscure hours (i.e.- yesterday mid afternoon). It's annoying that they can't get it right, I agree. Mind you that whole website is a complete farce!
  7. Exactly. We deserve whatever money the AFL gives us. In the end, we are still not getting as much 'assistance' as the likes of Collingwood, Essendon or Carlton do.
  8. When did Tony Liberatore become relevant again?
  9. What a disgrace, an 18 year old KPP who had stress fractures in his foot, and hasn't even been nominate as FB in the All Australian team. What the hell is going on? Give it a rest, he's a kid and has had one year in the system. Show me a key position player drafted last year who has shown more than Frawley...
  10. All 7 delisted players were ordinary. Ordinary players don't win you premierships. If you said that we're not in a premiership mode because we're concentrating heavily on developing a group of 23's and under, I would have agreed with you. The delistings mean nothing.
  11. Which of the 7 delisted players was going to help us win a flag?
  12. Cousins' behaviour is destructive, and repetitive. There has to be an underlying issue here. You do not give up everything, your partner, your career etc... if you are in control of the situation, or if you recognise your self- destructive ways. Either Cousins can't see what he's doing, or he doesn't care. Either way, it's a sad position for him to be in, and until he sorts out the underlying causes, he won't get better. That's my 'unprofessional' opinion
  13. People don't take drugs and become addicted for no reason. He clearly has psychological and emotional issues which are leading him to this self destructive behaviour. However, he is incredibly lucky that unlike many drug addicts, he has plenty of resources at his disposal to help him get better. But the reality is, that he won't recover until he wants to get better. I know you've mentioned that he's had a lot of rude shocks in his life lately, that should have prompted him to take control of his problem, but there is every chance that these issues, especially the loss of his friend, have only further exasperated his addictive behaviour. He is a very sick man and above all I feel deeply sorry for his family and loved ones.
  14. Injuries aside, Frawley should be in our starting 22 come Round 1. Next year is as much about developing the kids, as it is about compensating for this year's horrible result.
  15. Mark Williams...
  16. *sigh* I'll still take you back any day of the week Thommo; hoons, burnouts and all...
  17. Oh come on, you can definitely feel the sexual tension in the air *runs to take cover*
  18. When uni work is getting you down, come to Demonland, pull up a chair, and enjoy the [censored] fights. :D
  19. Whatever he's been doing since the end of the season, get Rivers onto it!!!
  20. His new sport will be getting into Hollywood starlets' (tartlets?) pants
  21. I actually heard on the radio this afternoon that there are reports he's hooked up with Cameron Diaz apperantly...
  22. If by "poor" you mean "incredibly stupid", than you're right.
  23. My friend is not a Melbourne supporter she's an Essendon supporter, which begs the question, why am I going out of my way to make her a nice going-away present? Should just throw her on a plane and never speak to her again
  24. And yet that doesn't make them similar in any way, shape or form as footballers. It's the other 'shape' issue that makes them similar But yeah, storm in a teacup. Edit: Just saw on Ch.10 that Sampi has been offered the chance to come and train with us, so we're obviously keen. Lets see how badly he wants it!
