Pretty simple at years end give him sylvia's contract.

Good god I hope Neeld doesn't put a wet blanket over the likes of Blease and Nicho. Their speed is a great asset to have and at least they move off their man to try and be a link up player through the middle. To me it looks as if Bennell doesn't know what he is under Neeld he isn't an inside mid and he isn't getting much loose ball at the moment either. I watched the tigers game and their run and movement through the middle reminded me of us last year (on a good day). I hope Neeld can get his style of play through to the players but Bailey did have some good points to so no need for the baby to be thrown out with the bath water.

Sorry also forgot to add Pretty please if JT is holding some sort of injury Pretty Please give him a rest. No point running one of our good players into the ground for no reason.

Out: Sellar(FOR EVER),Green(Poor bugger great effort),Dunn(Worst game I have seen.He must have woke up this morning thinking he is Cyril Rioli) Moloney(Enough chances) In: Couch(don't ask why,ask why not?) Martin (anything is better then Sellar) Bartram (Better then Dunn) Morton (Showed more then most who have played) Pretty please with scotch on top Do Not drop Nicho and blease stays for the year. Whilst accountability may be a weak link for them at least they run and spread and give us some drive into the forward line. You can see when they get the ball that they can run straight through the middle and give us a long kick to the forward line. Also Pretty please keep Watts down back he has great skills and has a footy brain. Yes he needs fitness and some more hardness but his disposal is pretty bloody good until he is knackered. I trust him with the footy. I know i'm being greedy but pretty please with scotch on top can we PLEASE get a new midfield coach. I would have hated to have to shout a beer or do a shot for every clearance lost today. We cannot win games without winning some clearances.

Yeah lets trade Watts and keep someone like Dunn and Sellar. That will fix all our problems! With more pressure on the back line then ever before in AFL and when playing down back in a bad team it would be bloody tough and Jack whilst not brilliant hasn't disgraced himself at all. We need his decision making and skills down back and we he has the pill I trust him with the footy. I am really liking him down back and let's not moan about him being loose. How much time does Scarlett spend on his opponent?

Gee if they want a tall bloke to run around and not get a kick Pick me! I'm 6'5 and I would get the same amount of touches as Sellar and that number would be 0. Looks like Neeld didn't swing the axe but powered up the merry go round and a few blokes are back in. Petterd and Couch probably didn't buy a ticket for this season whilst Sellar and Beamer have free passes all year. I don't understand how Dunn,Bennell and Sellar can come in and out of the side and Petterd gets picked plays a bad game and doesn't get another crack. I know he isn't breaking down doors to get in but he is one bloke we know who can play. Sellar just can't play.

Night of the Long Knives ... This Thursday.
cowboy_from_hell replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
We will get nowhere with Beamer,Sylvia and Green in the side. You would think minimum of one or maybe two or in my mind hopefully three will be gone at the end of the year. Anyone who is afraid we will get smashed in the midfield without our senior players should be reminded WE ARE GETTING SMASHED all over the ground. I'd rather players who aren't quite up to it yet but are willing to buy into Neeld's plans then the old guard who disrespect Neeld and the MFC every week. Maybe we can get excited from seeing some development from players who have a future at our club and not one's who want to maintain their agenda and hopefully Neeld can find out what players he needs after seeing what players we have in stock.Maybe we can dissect Neeld's gameplan if some players could follow it so we can actually see what type of coach we have. All is not lost for me this year if I can see Taggart,Davis,Blease,Mcdonald,Cook,Sheahan,Strauss,Couch,Tapscott,Watts,Morton and so on playing and showing us something. 2013 will shape what type of year 2012 will have been for us. If 2013 doesn't include selfish bastards and Neeld gives them their marching orders then 2012 whilst unfortunate it will have been the year we needed to weed out a fair few. If 2013 includes the same old same old then even before a tackle has been missed, a ball is turned over, a chase is given up on and a coach's instructions are ignored we in my mind are destined for darkness. -
I know it is a big if but IF we can win the contested ball and our outside runners in Bennell and Blease can spread we may play some ok footy with Jurrah and Mitch dominating down forward.

Last time Carlton tried to take the [censored] But today Dee's Relax we've got this!
-
If it means keeping Sellar out bring Martin back.
-
Im happy if it's true. Just a bit suspicious that Cloke Sr is leaking false information to raise the price tag at Collingwood.
-
don't be shocked if nearly all clubs are linked to cloke by the end of the year. Cloke senior is probably behind all these rumours of MFC,Freo and GWS.

More top ten picks will not be our salvation

Fair point -
BT said we are playing Carlton next week too. Channel 7 are getting value for money that's for sure.

Wasn't clark supposed to make Watts,Dunn,Bate,Davey or any other forwards job easier? -
Yep I will never forgive myself for starting that thread. Boy that one bit me in the backside. Am I in for a chance of dumbest thread of the year?

Not all picks have to be high for success. I don't want to but I will mention Jack Darling and throw in Richard Tambling at the other end as proof.I Agree about the players we need to draft but can't we bring a key back instead of drafting young lad and waiting 5 years for him to put on some Kg's like Lucas cook? If we screw this draft up we are cooked for a few years. Look at the tigers who are into their second rebuild I know they have won some games but not in september yet. All i'm trying to get across is if we do finish bottom 3 I am not going to put my feet up and wait for the flag in a few years because we have more top 20 picks. -

So If recruiting has improved so much how is our 5 year plan working out? We and many others are still going to hit and miss and we have missed a lot we all know it. My point is I want to see wins this year as the difference between pick 3-10 doesn't bother me. Improvement of the players we have now does. Is any player going to come in and kick the crap out of the opposition for us next year? Hell no. They will take time and have to grow and learn the gameplan and work hard at the VFL and thats what we are hearing now. Win now and worry about picks later. -
http://www.afl.com.au/tabid/208/default.aspx?newsid=125361 I have read a few comments by demonlanders who are hoping for picks 2 and 3 with 11 and 19 to follow. This is supposed to be our salvation again and with more young guns a glazier will be commissioned to build another premiership window . Whilst some top ten picks have turned out to be absolute guns I could easily see a 'blame the recruiters thread' being started in 2016 because once again our top draft picks haven't turned out to be Judd,Ablett and that green eyed "I don't get pinged for holding the ball' Buddy. I'm not having a crack at our top picks now as Trengrove and Watts will turn out to be great for us but it isn't always the case. I want to win as many games as possible this year and every other year even if a flag is not possible in that year. Winning form is good form and I like to watch my team win. Tank away at your own peril as draft picks are no certainty to a premiership. Building a team and bringing in fringe players who can fill a role in the team can work and with less risk. If our team hasn't got a player to fill a role that is required and you can find one from another team go and bloody get him! There is no point when in need of Key position players drafting them as you have to wait an olympics to see if you are going to get anything from them. 1996: 7 of the top 14 picks did not play ten games for their club. Port Adelaide had three top 14 picks at received a total of 89 games combined. 2003: Pick 1 Cooney: Brownlow medal. Picks 9,10 and 14 did not play ten games for their club. Picks 4,5 and 6 were traded before playing 100 games for their original club. Only three top 10 picks have won the brownlow since 2000: Judd (3) Cooney (1) Bartel (8) 2001 superdraft netted us Luke Molan (9) and North Melbourne Ashley Watson (14)

Put simply we drafted cheetah's and Neelds gameplan and many other teams gamplans require bulls. I have all the faith in Neeld none in our senior list and I don't know what Schwabb has to do with on field performance. As has been pointed out Schwabb has put cash and man power into our pitiful football department so time is needed. But as for now play blease, strauss, tapscott, watts, couch, jurrah, cook(if a sniff of form is shown) tynan, davis, nicholson (who i rate) and any other young blokes. Why not play them all? At least we can really live by the "We are playing kids and it's going to take time" line. I want to go to the footy to see development now because wins our way out of reach. I figured this out when I take more interest in casey games then MFC at the moment.
-
Does anyone really think that the CEO to the cleaning lady have anything to do with our on field performances this year? We thought Bailey was the problem but it is dead set obvious apart from a select few it's our players who are to blame.
-
You cant be fair dinkum about Sellar? I'd rather Dunn in the ruck then Sellar. He simply doesn't touch the football. Pretty sure it's handy to have a bloke who can get the pill every now and then. Sellar's only highlights have been when Gerad Healy gave him a bake on the couch and when Mitch clark Smashes through him to take a grab.

Didn't we already have a review not so long ago?
