  1. Bloody hell, I miss that guy ?.
  2. We need someone else in there too IMO. A versatile tall, which would allow Lever to play the role he is best at, and would free up Hibberd to run like he did last year. He's all tangled up at the moment.
  3. ProDee, I just want to say thank you for being an oasis of reason in these dark times.
  4. Keen to go again. Liam, MacGillsFineWines
  5. The thread isn't about Oscar STMJ, give it a rest. My point is that premature comparisons to champions of the game have been made many times before, and not realised. Lever is playing some really good footy at the moment, and hopefully he continues on that trajectory. If he does he'll certainly be up there. I hope Lever can maintain this years form when he is in red and blue - the players around him won't be of the same calibre as at Adelaide and he probably won't be playing as a third tall. There'll be more responsibility.
  6. You can do that with so many players over the years though. The truth is, we won't know until Lever has played a similar number of games as Rance in his prime, and a similar age.
  7. Tex obviously isn't the sharpest tool in the shed but jeez... know when to stop mate. You're making yourself and your club look terrible.
  8. I'm not sure STMJ could take it.
  9. Watts needs to stay forward for the rest of his career and Smith wouldn't fill the need - he's not big enough.
  10. If that eventuated, we'd have another gap to fill on the list in terms of a key back.
  11. Petracca. Doesn't get the ball as much as Oliver, but the things he does with it have us and the media frothing. No doubt the umpires see this too as his touches are more visible than Oliver's as they're often out of congestion. He's just a beast.
  12. I don't think so, he was often exposed by big forwards. We probably haven't paid enough attention to this need over the last few years, because we've been too busy building a midfield from scratch.
  13. Doesn't Lloyd just look so uncomfortable and awkward on camera? It almost makes me uncomfortable watching him speak.
  14. Pederson is 30, Weideman is developing and when Maxy goes forward, someone needs to rotate with him. McDonald has performed admirably in the role this season, so if we were to recruit Lever I could see him spending much of his time up forward and relieving Maxy. There's no reason he can't go back when required.
  15. Well it makes sense that if T McDonald were to continue up forward in that FWD/Ruck role, with Hogan and Watts, we need a quality defender to fill the hole he leaves down back. Lever would be a phenomenal pick up and with Frost and Oscar, would form a formidable back line.
  16. Good one GT. My opinion on Weideman is that his trade value is low, as he's a virtual unknown commodity. Young key position players often are, due to generally developing later that midfielders and other smaller players. My saying his currency is low or non-existent doesn't mean I think he has no potential or is a bust, which is what you seem to be saying. He has great potential and should be afforded plenty of time to develop. I don't want us to trade him, and if the club were to try and trade him I don't think we'd get much for him. Happy?
  17. Stringer going backwards so fast you'd be forgiven for thinking he was on wheels.
  18. Weideman has virtually no currency at this stage OD.
  19. Looks as though Zero Hanger might get some of their information from Demonland. https://www.zerohanger.com/reports-adelaide-young-gun-high-melbournes-radar-12747/?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=AFL+Zero+Hanger
  20. They've lost a lot of players over the last 5 years... Hibberd, Melksham, Ryder, Carlisle etc.
  21. I might be missing something but what has that got to do with Daniher's contract? It all seems above board.
  22. I agree that they're better defenders than the guys we have, no issues there. But at this stage I think it's more important to look and recruit elsewhere - some more midfield pace and a back up ruckman. Our defence will get better with development. Another issue with recruiting May is how to integrate him into the zone defence that we play.
  23. The irony is that posters keep saying they want May because he is a bigger type of defender than the ones we have. He's not. Personally I don't think recruiting May would solve many problems.
