Delistings/trades at end of the season
I agree, but Dawes and Howe probably won't generate much 'trade income' at all.

I wouldn't trade out pick 4 and Howe for Aish and their second rounder. Sounds good for Prestia though.

Agree. Bring back Juice Newton to replace Dawes, couldn't do any worse at this stage.

So by that reasoning, lets throw out N. Jones, Viney, McDonald and every other player that was on the list when Neeld was still coach.

I'd like to see Garland stay and despite the torturous years he has endured, he still shows the willingness to compete and hunger to win. Howe and Jamar will go, hopefully with some decent compensation for the former.

Don't think Zaharakis will be going anywhere IMO. He supported Essendon as a kid and is essentially their big hope in the midfield. They'll have cash to pay him. Has he shown any signs of discontent or said anything?

You definitely would not have to be insane. He's a very good footballer and ferocious tackler. I would give up that pick in a heartbeat, however he wouldn't be my first choice to trade out for.- Delistings/trades at end of the season
I continually say it but I already think WBD have absolutely shafted themselves with the Boyd deal.- Delistings/trades at end of the season
Oh, my molestake. Misread.- Delistings/trades at end of the season
That would be devastating news and I find it kind of hard to believe. Although he's from WA Roosy has helped Nev absolutely turn his career around and become a very good player. As well as that, I've always thought Nev looks very happy and at home with the Dees and his teammates.- Delistings/trades at end of the season
Motlop would be a great get, if we could wrangle it.- Delistings/trades at end of the season
Pretty different players, IMO. Yarran would provide some fantastic run and great skills off half back, while Jetta is a much better one on one defender. In summary, would love to have both at the Dees.- The Jack Viney Made Me Cry Thread
You never know about his kicking - luckily it's a skill that can be taught compared with the aggression and mongrel that he has, which cannot be taught. Nathan Jones struggled to hit a target early in his career and now he rarely wastes the ball. Plenty of time for Jack to work on that but bloody hell, I'm loving what he's producing so far. We'll have the best midfield in the league in 3 years, mark my words.- Delistings/trades at end of the season
Just look at our last two games - couldn't break out of the back half for significant amounts of time at crucial points of the game, the fourth quarter against both Collingwood and the Saints. We need players who can kick the ball to be able to break through opposition presses, and we don't have enough of those players.- Delistings/trades at end of the season
I would hope that we look to trade our first pick again, as there should be some good quality players available. If not, draft the best player we can with our pick.- Delistings/trades at end of the season
I agree that we are a couple of players away before we really have enough grunt in the middle, but we can't just focus on one aspect of building a side and ignore the other. There's nothing wrong with picking up Suckling and also going for one or two bigger bodied, inside midfielders.- Delistings/trades at end of the season
If he's a free agent, we still have to make him a money offer.- Delistings/trades at end of the season
I wouldn't have called Suckling soft and cannot remember any instances where he has appeared so? Is slim which people often associate with softness, but I haven't seen anything untoward. But he isn't someone I'd want us to give a lot to get.- Delistings/trades at end of the season
Matt Suckling of the Hawks is OOC and has put off talks. Would be a nice pick up for the right price - deadliest foot in the league.- Delistings/trades at end of the season
Unfortunately we don't really have the luxury to develop players for that long in our position, IMO.- Delistings/trades at end of the season
I don't see any reason as to why we wouldn't have a good go at picking him up. Fits our needs right now. But our needs are pretty much everywhere.- Delistings/trades at end of the season
Lachie Henderson would be a good get, IMO. Flexible, good pair of hands and would compliment Hogan and Pedersen up forward, with the ability to swing back.- The Jack Viney Made Me Cry Thread

The extremely frustrating thing is that this is an all too familiar pattern. He has some very good traits, most notably time in the contest and amazing awareness, but as you say his form fluctuates wildly. He tantalises with a patch of good games every single year and has the equipment to be an amazing player. My feelings toward Watts fluctuate like his performances - sometimes I'll scream for him to be traded and other times I kind of like him. There is no doubt that if he can get it together for a period of time, he's a player that we really need to hold onto. At this stage, all we can do is hope that Roos, McCartney and co have gotten through to him and he consistently performs like he did last night. If he does, people will forget the first part of his career fairly quickly I think, much the same as happened with Goddard. - Delistings/trades at end of the season
